Great pump.
Purchased this pump pending the arrival of my third child, and it has been nothing but fabulous. It was exceptionally helpful prior to birth, as hand expressing colostrum proved difficult but this pump made it a lot easier. Maintaining my supply has not been an issue either. This pump is quiet in comparison to other pumps I have had for my older children. The night light is a lovely feature. The multiple cycles and vacuum intensity options are also a fabulous feature.
Customer service has also been very helpful, as the first pump to be delivered needed replacement which they sent out the morning after my husband requested it.

Great Pump
My midwife suggested this pump and I’m so glad I got it. It’s super easy to use and much cleaner to use then the manual pump I had been using! A great extra feature is the light on the pump, we will be using the night light for night time feeds and pumps.

Bottle easily leaks. Pump is ok.
The pump works well. It's not as strong as the other models I've tried. The main issue is the difficulty in maintaining a seal on the bottle. It's a fine line between over tightening the cap and not tightening it enough. This is an ongoing issue with all 4 bottles we purchased through Spectra.

DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP
DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP!
I previously used Spectra for first child, and had no problems with the pump . Figured I'd try again. After just 3 months using the pump I noticed I could hear liquid on the inside. I had assembled it correctly so had no clue of the problem. Mind you, I've never spilled anything on this pump. I realized it was sucking pack of the milk into the machine. I contacted the company and they refused to give me a new machine saying it was water damage, not a manufacturing defect. Whats worst is my 3 year old spectra from my other child is not dead. Will never choose this pump again.

Pump is great, but common power issue still exists
I'll preface this by saying that the pump, when working, is absolutely fantastic.
So mine's just started doing the exact same thing as what many of the other customer reviews are saying where their unit just randomly shuts off on its own. To be fair, we used this product with our first born without any issues for the first 8 months, and this issue has only started occurring when we took the pump out of storage and started using it again for our second child.
Unfortunately warranty has expired by 6 months now so I'm up that creek, but I thought

Disgusting customer service!!!
They stopped replying to my emails after advising my brand new duckvalves that were attached to my brand new breast shields are falling into the breast milk mid pumping sessions. [Name Removed] kept advising to replace the parts and wouldn't understand that they were the new parts! I ended up opening a Paypal dispute after [Name Removed] refused to assist and she stopped replying! Paypal ended up giving me a Paypal voucher for the amount I was disputing otherwise I would've taken it further and created a case with the ACCC (will be putting a co

Blows my mind that there is still shocking customer service like this in Australia, in 2022!!Purchased in at Sydney Wide Chiropractic for $300.

Waste of money
I bought this pump about 6 months ago after reading all the positive reviews on the Product Review website.
This is the worst purchase I’ve done in my life. The pump is bulky, heavy and very loud and noisy.
I’m not really sure if the reviews on here are all paid reviews as this product is far from what it has been described here.

Good luck if you have trouble. No warranty within warranty period.
I'll start by saying it is a good product when it is working but for the short time we had it, it developed a leak. I could hear a leak on one side and rang customer service. They gave me the line, 'you need to replace the valves and back flow protector often, that is the likely issue'. Given we had a dual pump we had two of everything (almost) so we could confidently rule out the valves, swapping the good side with the bad made no difference. To eliminate the back flow protector completely we used the one side we knew worked and sure enough no
... Read more leak. The hoses didn't have a leak either this is easy to check. You block one air line and then the other while the pump is running. That left the one shield. Introduce that and we could hear a leak. I was told that 'if it doesn't have a crack it is fine'. I was also told 'the sound is typical of the pump' when I sent a video. Yeh right. The side with the leak always produced less milk. We had big enough problems trying to supply the twins with enough milk but this was disgusting customer service. Sadly, Georgie let's what is a good product down with her incompetence.Purchased in at Spectra Baby for $399.

The Worst Customer Service….
Got s2 pump delivered 2 days ago and the same day contacted customer service for the return address . Mind you it’s not open at all even the postage package is still intact . No phone , no emails returned no face book messages return . What do I make of this . We are all very busy in this world but customer service is a very important part of a business . Let’s see if someone contacts me from customer service after my last resort of writing a review. Please be aware . Do your research and choose wisely .

Pump works well but very expensive to replace parts frequently
Pump is effective, however it isn’t clearly stated on the website when you purchase that if you pump a couple of times a day you should expect to replace the parts every couple of weeks. This knowledge was only shared once I emailed spectra after the new parts I spent $67 on stopped working after just one week. I was advised to expect to be spending this every couple of weeks, which means the $299 pump is in fact $299 + $67 each 10 days of use (a couple of times a day). Buyer beware of this ongoing cost before purchasing.

Very efficient pump!
I have been using it daily for around 6 to 8 times per day and can't fault it. I have been hearing great reviews so bought it for myself. Not the cheapest but it is great value for my buck. Been using it for nearly 5 months now and haven't encountered any issues yet. Although would love to have tried the s1 for portability, but still very happy with my purchase.

Best pump around
This pump was amazing. I cut holes in a sports bra so I could pump hands free. Its quite, easy to use and made a massive difference to my supply. The battery life is pretty good but if you're pumping 3 hourly, like I was, it's best to keep it charging all the time. I cannot recommend it enough!!

Absolutely Wonderful Breast Pump
I hired Medela hospital grade breast pump and used until baby is 4 months old. Then I start using Spectra. Comparing the two, Spectra is far more excellent in expressing milk in my case. I can almost empty my breast in each pumping within 30mins. I highly recommend Spectra to all new mum. It is more effective and worth investing in.

Worst Customer Service
Beware buyer - overall this pump is good but if you have issues with any of the components then good luck trying to get a resolution. I just tried to change over my tubing to get better performance and noticed the tubing was different (it came with adaptor ends that I could not remove) When I contacted Spectra they indicated they had changed suppliers and the tubing was made for a different pump (?!) They asked me to remove the tubing and continue use, or cut the tubing if having issues removing. I found this odd but went ahead and cut the tubi
... Read moreng but the tubing material is more narrow now and really difficult to attach and whats more annoying, even more difficult to remove - which you need to after most sessions because the tubing attaches to the flanges which need to be removed and washed. I tried to explain this but Spectra customer service indicated there was no issue and then completely ignored my messages ... I have never exprerience such unprofessional customer service. Would not recommend.Purchased in for $299.

Would definitely recommend!
This pump is perfect. I am very comfortable using it. I love the vacuum and let down mode. I use it every third hourly. Spectra s2 is also very high in quality. The noise is very minimal. I love the lamp too. I don't have to open the lights anymore when I pump at midnight. I am also very satisfied with the amount of milk I get with every pump. This is also hospital grade so it is more powerful and effective than many personal-use pumps. This added strength and better mimics my bub's natural stimulation. I love this pump and would definitely recommend it to mum's out there. A great value for money.

Questions & Answers
Dear spectra. I have a spectra- with blue colour and have noticed it is becoming increasingly loud when I pump, compared to when I first started. Is there something i need to do to quiet the pumping process. It is especially loud during the mimicking of suckling.
Hi Venessa, pump sound alone is not an indicator of fault, but there are things that can influence this for sure. :)
If the pump has been knocked or dropped at all, that will influence it. It is also important to change the shield kit parts regularly as recommended, as this will affect sound too.
Ensure your shield kit is set up properly, and using a softer surface to set the pump on will also help. :)
Hope that helps. :)

Details
Features:
- The Spectra S2 Hospital Grade Double Electric Breast Pump has 320mmHg of suction, as well as the ability to adjust this suction strength so you can choose what’s most comfortable for you.
- Double pumping lets you save time by expressing milk from both breasts simultaneously - making it great for time-poor mothers (which is, let's face it, most mothers).
- It also has a massage mode to promote quick letdown.
- Spectra advertises this breast pump as being “super quiet”, meaning it could be a good option for those after discreet pumping.
- The breast pump has an adjustable cycle speed, letting you choose between 5 speed settings between 38 and 54 rpm.
- It’s a closed system, meaning no milk will leak outside the pump, and nothing will get in the pump, making it more hygienic for both mum and bub.
- For those who find themselves up at all hours needing to express, this breast pump has a night light and timer to make those sleepy express sessions slightly easier.
- It’s mains-powered, so it must be plugged into a power outlet in order to operate.
- The whole device weighs 2kg.
Points of praise:
- Most reviewers said that this breast pump was efficient at expressing milk and effectively mimicked a baby’s natural stimulation. It also didn’t lose suction.
- The night light was appreciated by a lot of reviewers, who said that it provided enough light to see what they were doing during night express sessions but was dim enough to not disturb anyone else.
- Reviewers said that the device made minimal noise.
Pain point:
- The main pain point of this breast pump is that it isn’t very portable, as it’s bulkier than most other breast pumps and is mains-powered. Spectra however doesn’t advertise it as being portable, and portability may not be a pain point for women who don’t require a pump they can easily take on the go.

Hi there!
I am trying to find your messages to us about this, but cannot - maybe because you have not used your name.
... Read more You are right, if there is moisture in your pump, the warranty is voided, as it has occurred through incorrect use. There is no way moisture can get in the machine when used correctly - that's what makes it a closed system pump. Other than accidental spillage, the only way this can occur is not using the shield kit parts as required. Great to hear your three-year-old pump is still going - that is what we would expect. Sorry you are disappointed, we do understand. Let us know if we can help with anything else.
