Pump has motor issues
I bought my pump within 3 months of use l had issues with the motor. I requested a loan pump which worked well and l did not have to charge tge battery so often but when my oump returned from repairs the issues were worse and before l knew it l was out of warranty.l contacted spectra to see if they could have another look at the motor l was then advised l had to pay for the repairs and tge amount was equivalent to purchasing another breast pump.
Am very disappointed with the product its not worth the money they charge.

Pump is great but the bottles and lids are horrible
I had my pump for around 8 months before deciding to purchase additional bottles and a new flange as I am pumping more than I used to.
The new bottles do not seal at all. I contacted Spectra via their website with NO REPLY. It said to contact them on FB messenger if there is no response. I did this and they "read" my DM but ignored it. 2 weeks later I sent another message. Again, they saw my message but chose to ignore it. So a few weeks later I sent another email. Finally I get a response, and the response is that I should try OTHER BRANDS BO

Sucks great!
I used Medela when I had my first 3 babies then 9 years later for our last bub I bought the spectra S1 plus double pump. Loooooved it. I don't get the negative reviews but I've also not had any issues with it. I did have to replace the tubing and duckbills during it but easy peasy.
I used my pump exclusively for 8 months and it was Amazing. Really worthy investment... highly recommend
Pros
Quiet
The light
Good suction
Doesn't hurt as lots of setting options
The timer so you know how long you've gone for
Easy to move it around the house (no problems)

There are so many design faults with this flimsy pump, it is horrible and customer service terrible
The pump was defective and the customer service was horrible, I was asking for help and the assistance was abysmal I was given the runaround with a million different questions I had already answered. I had replaced the parts and changed flange sizes but still the pump doesn’t work properly. They said they wouldn’t accept the warranty claim at all so I had no choice but to report to NSW Fair Trading. They wouldn’t even take a look at it! This company hides behind a computer screen and relies on people to just give up.

Terrible company
I am extremely disappointed with Spectra and with the 'customer service' I have experienced.
As a first time mum, it can be very overwhelming so much to learn, lack of sleep and heightened emotions- and Spectra have only added to this!
I brought a spectra S1 pump which as a standard comes with 24mm shields. I was having so much trouble pumping- not much milk and it was hurting. I thought this was normal as I didn't know any different. I was not aware there was different size shields and it is not obvious when buying a spectra pump. I recently
... Read more was pumping in front of a friend who informed me that the shields were too big. So I went on the spectra website and clicked the link to the pumpables measuring tool which states the most common size is 17mm yet the standard spectra send is 24 mm...very illogical. Clearly upset by this, I emailed spectra to understand why. I dealt with [Name Removed], who was incredibly rude and had zero empathy for my experience. [Name Removed] basically said they are just the distributor and have past the feedback onto spectra but they aren't listening and I'd have to buy the smaller size shields. It is completely irresponsible that Spectra send out as a standard a very large flange size as they are literally damaging peoples bodies, impacting babies from getting breastmilk (as I'm sure other mothers would stop because of it) and impacting on new mothers mental health. There should be an option to select shield sizes (or at the very least information) when buying a pump. Spectra this is not good enough! Do something about it!Heya Laura Vozzo, sorry this has upset you so much! We did try to explain we have been working on getting smaller shield sizes to come with the pump, but also that a larger size helps most people init

This is the THIRD spectra pump I’ve bought in the last 6 years. First was an s2 that served me well and didn’t miss a beat over 2 babies, second was an s9 I bought as a portable option, and leaving me with my current s1 that I purchased last year in anticipation for my new baby who was born in November 2021. I have always been extremely happy with spectra as a whole but my experience today has completely stained my opinion of them.
Purchased the pump on sale, knew the pump had a 2 year warranty, was prepared to forgo 6 months of it because I w

I ended up having to buy another brand breast pump I got so fed up
Great pump! Not great with the portability. And so incredibly awful when it comes to screwing the bottles onto the flanges or the lids onto the bottles. Any jostling of the bottles in a bag, and the lids come off and leak all over everything… If you’re moving such as typing while pumping, the jostling of your arms will loosen the bottles from the flanges and they will fall right to the floor. It got to the point that I just bought a new pump because you just can’t screw these on tight to where they won’t leak or fall off the flange while pumping..

Refuses to replace broken parts
I am a full-time breastfeeding mother & have used a pump since 3 months pp. I decided to buy Spectra S1 a few weeks ago based on mother's group recommendation & now regret my choice & judging by the other poor reviews I see now I'm not alone in this. I initially struggled to get good suction but after I fashioned a pump bra out of an old nursing bra it's much better but the flange attachments are so bulky after only a few weeks that's already stretched out.
After only a few weeks of receiving this & using it a handful of times (as I rarely pum

Firstly they review the reviews on their website and delete any negative ones hence the only 4 and 5 star reviews - very sneaky.
As others have mentioned they have the worst customer service, they pass blame and get you to check things instead of ever admitting fault, then they stop replying and ignore you - even warranty claims - shocking!
They did however admit the facts on their website are out of date. Providing false information.
Pros:
- battery option (don't mistake this at meaning it's portable)
- pumps milk... once you've spent more money at external companies to purchase the right size flange

Frustrating flaw enough to downgrade an otherwise great pump
The pros: portable (battery option), good suction with different cycle and vacuum options, comfortable to use, effective, nice display features.
Cons: The design of the circuit is frustrating- several times one of the pumps does not form enough of a vacuum and even after dismantling both the bottles, duckbills and discs and reassembling them in the order suggested by the manufacturer, sometimes I am still forced to pump one breast at a time (even using brand new parts). Not something you want to deal with when you are in a hurry or sleepy fro

Worst customers service and don't buy their product they are scammers
worst customer service ever , they play blaming game , they blame you for the low suction or say may be your body is changing or something is wrong with hormones but pump can't loose suction what kind of customer service is this. Abysmal customer service if something goes wrong
I found the components of the pumping bottle to be poorly designed. The neck of the back flow protector snapped after a month of use and Spectra didn’t even ask how it happened, immediately said it was accidental damage and refused to replace it. They think good customer service is using a sad face when they tell you they’re not going to help. I would not recommend buying this product unless you’re happy to continually replace parts. Maymom on Amazon sells them if you don't want to give more money to Spectra.

Terrible customer service
Initially this pump was perfect. After a week of using it I decided to order another tube as I damaged one. Spectra sent me another tube different to the tube that came with the pump - this new tube has terrible suction compared to the original tube. When I emailed customer service regarding this they were very rude, and unprofessional. They made no attempt to remedy this situation. I let them know before writing this review that I was disappointed in their management of my complaint, and they just ignored me.
Absolutely terrible customer service. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 purely because the pump was very good to start off with.

Is the spectra compatible with other bottles? Specifically, advent bottles that you can easily buy near me from chemist
Heya Izzy - yes! The Advent bottles will work with Spectra pumps.
In fact, any standard wide neck bottle will fit on a Spectra shield. :)
