Sport Marine Technologies SE Sport 300 Hydrofoil Questions & Answers
Will this sport hydrofoil cause drag and there for hurt your speed and your rpm
Short answers is yes. Anything you add to your boat will cause drag and the flow on effects will occur. At the most it’ll be 2km/h at full throttle. You will gain better elevation and less cavitation. My boat went from being a handling pig to being on rails. Best advice I ever received is that if your boat doesn’t need a foil, don’t put one on
Never could get mine up to full speed so I couldn't tell you if it honestly lost much or not. After putting on this hydrofoil mine's leaned to one side extremely bad. To the point where it was unsafe to even try throttling anymore. Basically went back to shore took it off and the boat went back to running just how it should. Only put it on because I was hoping to get on playing a little bit quicker and maybe make the boat handle a little bit better. But like I said it made it handle far worse. Not saying that's going to happen to you, every boat seems to react differently.
Will this fit a Mercury 60hp 4 stroke command thrust 2022 modle?
Yes. It’s rated for 40hp up
It may. Need to look at the back of the motor and see how it shaped. I have a Honda 50 horse and it's not the correct shape for this particular model to fit. I modified it slightly and got it to fit but for me it did not work. With it on the boat would kick over to one side really far. Sucks cuz now I have holes and cannot Mount another Style unless I get these welded closed. Which is going to cost me over $100. For yours it may work perfectly I'm not sure.
Does not look like it will fit on a Honda 90hp 1998 model as it has a bolt in the way? Anyone have this problem and do a work around?
I have a Honda 50 horse and it didn't fit it until it was slightly modified. But even then it didn't work. It actually threw the boat to one side. Not because I made it crooked or anything else it just didn't work for my application.
