I had a very disappointing experience at the Watergardens store of Sportsco. On 4 March I purchased a pair of ASICS runners for my son for $88, and after only two days of normal wear the new pair developed two holes and the front strip began rubbing off. Clearly the shoes were faulty and not of acceptable quality. Before returning to the store, I called ahead and was advised that although I had thrown out the physical receipt, the purchase should still be traceable in the system and proof of purchase via my bank statement would be sufficient.
When I attended the store on 13 March, staff were able to locate the original receipt for the purchase, but refused to assist because it was not the receipt generated during the exchange. I was told their system does not retain exchange receipts and that there was “nothing they could do”.
The staff member called the manager, who advised that I should return on Monday. I explained this was not possible due to work and school commitments and asked if the issue could be resolved during my visit. The manager refused and stated that store policy overrides consumer law and that without the exchange receipt they would not provide a refund, replacement, or even store credit.
All I was asking for was a reasonable resolution for a clearly faulty product that failed within a week of purchase. Instead I left the store with defective shoes and an $88 loss.
Very disappointing customer service. I had hoped to support a local store rather than buying from larger retailers, but based on this experience I would strongly recommend others consider shopping elsewhere.
I would give them ZERO star , they should be ashamed of their website and call centre , it is my first time buying something online from sportsco , I noticed some sales on their website, I placed 3 orders , with every order I’ve paid $10 shipping fees , the first order was 4 items and I only received it yesterday with only 2 items , second order I received it this afternoon 1 item out of 7 items , I rang them like 6 times so far but there was no answer , they seems not legitimate.
No email, no invoice, no stock and no refund – It is difficult to believe they are legit. I placed an online order, never received a confirmation email or an invoice. I had no proof of purchase. I waited 2 weeks, and no package, I finally contacted them with a PayPal screenshot. After two attempts, I finally had a reply that they have no stock, and they will proceed to a refund. Still no refund one week later, so I opened a PayPal dispute. Not worth the troubles and the time spent, I'll never shop with them again.
Total waste of time – Placed an order, heard nothing for a week. No one picks up the phone, no one calls back. Then I see a refund a week later informing me they're out of stock. Total waste of time. Won't shop here again
Missing item, Refund – Received my very first online order and found out 1 item missing. Another item marked as Refund. Over a month now I haven’t received any refund yet. Emailed them twice with no reply. Very bad customer service.
