Stay Connected Plumbing

I had a terrible first experience with Same Day Home Services company this month, which appears to be connected with Stay Connected Plumbing, and will not be going to them again. I called for their service for a simple job to clear a blocked storm water drain, due to a blockage of a downpipe gutter to the kerb. The final result was that they did not clear the blockage at all, they purposely over-inflated the service in an attempt to charge more, and still required me to pay $600. They further pressured me to pay in cash.

Two tradies from this company spent an hour using high pressure jets but failed to clear the blockage. They claimed that the pipe was broken midway and that another PVC pipe breakage was found on the kerbside. Their solution to fix the blocked drain was to repair the kerbside pipe, carry out CCTV inspections, dig and cut concrete broken line. The invoice issued totalled $1,100. They demanded $550 to be paid for their first hour of work, even though they had not cleared the blocked drain, and a further $50 deposit was to be paid for the remaining work which was scheduled for 2 days later. I suspected something was not right.

I immediately called another plumber to do the job. It took him only 15 minutes to clear the blockage for $440. I then cancelled the scheduled job with this company, and requested for the $50 deposit to be refunded. However, they still have not responded.
