I had a very bad experience with StressFreeCarRental and would strongly advise others to be careful when booking through this platform. I made a reservation and paid in advance through their website. documents with me: a valid European passport, a valid driving licence, and two credit cards in my name with sufficient funds. There was absolutely no issue with my eligibility to rent.

However, after I complained, StressFreeCarRental changed the story and claimed that I “did not meet the booking requirements.” This is simply not true and contradicts what their partner’s employee told me on the spot. At no point was I informed about any issue with my documents, and I was not given any written refusal.

Even worse, instead of resolving the problem, they keep redirecting me to Alamo, despite the fact that the payment was made directly to StressFreeCarRental. As a customer, my contract and payment are with them, so they should take responsibility rather than passing the problem to someone else.

Because the car was never provided, I also incurred additional costs to arrange alternative transportation. Despite this, they are still refusing to refund the payment.

This experience has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I would not recommend booking through this company. If something goes wrong, they appear more interested in avoiding responsibility than helping their customers.

I still attempted to hire the vehicle which I was unable to do due to not having the card and the employee serving me refused all other forms of payment for the security deposit which is fine but he also claimed I would be able to receive a full refund confidently.

On top of this I also paid for the whole vehicle prematurely to lower my security deposit and paid for insurance - this was an optional payment so I didn’t have to pay this money realistically until I arrived at the agents office but I did it before anyway. Now they are refusing me refunds of any kind even though I paid for this pre-maturely and I was told by the employee working at the desk that I would receive one and he said he would leave a note for the refund process which they are now refusing. I would have followed this up in the office on the night if I knew I would be denied. Additionally they are impossible to speak to as they do not have a phone number.

This during the Christmas period so prices are inflated for god knows why.

Other companies like DoYouSpain offer similar airport deals without forcing a non-refundable prepayment or "trapping" customers over flight details that were provided upfront. ​StressFreeCarRental’s system is clearly designed to take your money first and ask questions later. They possessed the data (my flight number) that proved the booking was "invalid" by their rules, yet they chose to process the payment anyway. When I arrived, they refused the service and have since refused to refund my €18 deposit, hiding behind fine print. ​I ended up paying 3x the price with a different company at the airport. If you want a truly "Stress Free" experience, go elsewhere. Cant even rate. Dreadful service. No phone contact trying to cancel booking due to $2500 bond on top of hire and insurance and fuel. Non responsive. Took out hire fees before i even attempted pick up.The absolute worst experience ever

and the rep said "the customer has been advised of the restrictions and it is the customer's responsibility" - really? So they put stuff in the fine print, no pop-up before I book, they take my money happily, then they don't have to fulfill the reservation and they just keep my money - such a scam!!! When I arrived at the RecordGo desk, I was told the booking had been cancelled in their system. I was left without a car, had to wait more than 2 hours, and was forced to pay €300 extra for a last-minute rental.

Although the company refunded my original €58 prepayment, they refused to take any responsibility for the extra costs caused by their system error.

We rent cars several times a year and have never experienced such poor handling of a booking issue. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this company due to their unreliable system and lack of proper customer support.

points they are available until 2am with extra fee, not true. Anyway contacted the car supplier to pick up the car the following morning, for my surprise when I got there my reservation was cancelled by Stress Free, the 12 hours time frame was passed according to their policy. I was at the car rental, trying to contact Stress Free, no contact phone number, all by email and chat, initially they tried saying you need to resolve directly with the car supplier, then I was late so try a compensation with your flight. I paid 2 weeks rental in total (€485) no money was passed to the car supplier and because a hour late they refused any refund, I was left with no car and money honestly Stress Free Car Rental are robbers.

wait for the shuttle – which incidentally was at the corner of a busy roundabout. Once the van had arrived, we were quickly ushered into it, before the driver was caught illegally parking!

Once we eventually arrived at the collection location and after waiting 30 minutes at the office, we were told that there was no car for us! I showed them the “Streefreecarrental” email stating “booking confirmed” but they just shrugged and said they had no car for us! The staff kindly contacted some other companies, but without a positive result.

We unsuccessfully tried the three of four other car rental shops in the area. So, after making our way back to the airport and the car rental area, after asking several other car rental booths, until we eventually found one that could offer us a car. Of course, this car was half the size and almost double the price of the one we had booked with “Streefreecarrental”!!

Frankly, this company is an utter disgrace. Had it not cost us so much money and waster many precious hours of our holiday, we could have laughed at the irony of them calling themselves “Stressfreecarrental”!

Eventually, they refunded our money, but have so far evaded our request that they compensate us for the additional car hire charges. Oh, and we received a reluctant “sorry”…

their business Google account and the same is happening again. The car rental company then aggressively grabbed me upon returning the car and chased me to the airport as it refused to deal with them upon drop off after the initial experience.

I contacted stress free car rental concerning this as I booked with them and requested to speak to management as they shouldn't be giving the renter business. I contacted them on May 9th and have been requesting to speak to management for 3 months. Each request is avoided.

Today I simply received a mail stating I signed a document agreeing to pay an additional amount because my card had an issue.... The whole customer experience was like speaking to a Robot

and I wasted a vacation trying to resolve my rental issues. I can not get any help from either company and am reaching out to the equivalent of the better business bureau in the country I visited. It’s unacceptable to behave this way in business. I was charged $945 for a 6 day car rental that was originally $95. I will be paying this off for months.

This organisation are rip off merchants. If it all goes smoothly you will be okay, but if any problems you have zero chance of remedy. They will reply to this as its public facing, but behind the wall, they had little interest in helping and have kept my money for a car rental i never received. Please stay away

phone number to call and the chat bot unhelpful, we had to pay for a night in an airport hotel and a brand new car booking (the original booking expires six hours after pick up which was when the office was closed) so now we're out of pocket over £1000 because of this company. It is worth noting that goldcar do not get paid unless the booking is fulfilled which means stressfree have taken our money for profit without paying goldcar for the rental - that is most certainly not' Treating Customers Fairly'. We've been trying to get it resolved amicably with them for the past month but they are refusing to do anything at all to help. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

When I advised them that Avis said no charge, they claimed that was wrong. By email Avis confirmed "no charge". My correspondence with stress free was ignored until they produced a wordy document that said it was my fault that I did not read the small print of the entire contract, and no refund.Despite their website claiming they took care of their clients misadventures, they have pocketed A$960.68. I could understand a fee for admin, but keeping the whole sum seems unfair. Lying about Avis sums it up.
