IDEAL SUV – This is the first auto Forester I have owned. The CVT transmission is great, dont feel the gear changes and the fuel economy is excellant. The car handles better than previous models and holds the road well on the sometimes rough north queensland roads. The interior is spacious with room for 3 adults in the back and the leather seats are… Read more

comfortable. The only thing missing from the interior is rear air con vents which are needed.in hot weather. The turbo engine has plenty of power and is not noisy. Overall the forester is a comfortable, safe and economical car with a reasonable rough/ dirt road capabilities.

Five stars – We bought the turbo diesel and it's the best decision we ever made. We get about 800km out of a tank I absolutely love everything about this car. Subaru have been have been wonderful to deal with in terms of servicing. The rear seats fold down flat and there's more boot space than we know what to do with. Literally love this car, it's really underrated.  Show details

What a great car – Leather interior, easy to use controls, excellent fuel economy, very good view of the road from windscreen, rear cargo space a little small but adequate, good head and leg room, plenty of power and looks great. Previous car was XTrail so glad I got this Subaru, would recommend it to anyone  Show details

Sufficiently impressive but don't fall in love with it – Although touted to be extremely economical it does not quite live up to expectations. However the performance is certainly impressive. The vehicle handles well for an SUV and and gives a quiet comfortable drive. The interior, although not luxurious, has clean cut lines, which make it easy to keep in good condition. There is good legroom in all… Read more

seats and is comfortable even especially on long trips. Apart from a small malfunction with the DPF the vehicle is extremely reliable, and is sufficiently economical to be impressive, yielding 7.5/100 in urban areas and down to 6.8/100 country driving.

No guts on a hill – Bought a new 2013 Forester diesel, had it now for 19 months. Good on the road and economical but this is definitely my last Subaru. It can't pull the steep hill behind our property, no guts at low speed and too high geared. My wife's Ford Focus Trend auto goes up easily. The Forester clutch also gives every sign that it can't handle that… Read more

sort of work - just a few revs and slipping the clutch briefly to make up for the lack of guts causes a burning smell.

My old 2005 Forester went up so easily in low range. So did my old Brumby. Old two wheel drive cars go up ok, but not this crappy Forester diesel.

The whole ownership has been awful - as well as this, a speedometer I can't read and Subaru staff that lied under oath at a tribunal hearing about that.

No support from the supply dealer.

What a horrible bloody experience.
