Lasted well – Ours just died, still looking new, but actually over 20 years old - used a few times a month. Show reply

Solid performance and longevity – Our sandwich press is twenty years old. Used 4-5 times a month these days but twice that when our children were young and off to sport all weekend and practices. Made toasted sandwiches to take to workOnly replacing now as cord has become twisted, packing it up do many times, and shorted.  Show details

Only last till just after the warranty period - don't expect it to last more than 2 years – This is the 3rd Sunbeam Large Sandwich press that I have purchased and only get just over 2 years from it - still looks new as I have taken care of it . The Sandwhich Press would come on but would not heat up - when I moved the coil section at the back the other light came on. Them just totally stopped working. Love the sandwich press as use a couple of times a week. BUT Will look at another brand next time - very disappointed.  Show details

Family favourite – I've had my sandwich press for years and it's still going strong. I use it for sandwiches and also for fried eggs and bacon. It's the best thing to make the family a quick sunday night tea. The kids love toesties and so do my hubby and I :) This is a gadget that I would replace immediately if it broke! Easy to clean, reliable.

Love this toasted sandwich maker! – This is currently the most used electrical item in my kitchen! It makes such a lovely toasted sandwich - just right! It heats up very quickly and toasts to perfection. The sandwich filling is heated just right with cheese melting so perfectly! The bread has the nice grill marks on the top and is very evenly toasted. Highly recommended!… Read more

inexpensive, heats up very quickly, compact enough to leave on the bench or pop away in the cupboard, the cord wraps neatly and securely underneath when not in use, toasts beautifully, easy to clean and has a nifty little lock to secure the top and bottom when not in use.

Good – A great addition to the kitchen. We can make toasted sandwiches, kebabs, bacon and eggs, pikelets and all sorts of things on this press. It's a good size and super easy to clean and store. Thumbs up! This is a very easy press to clean, even if you cook meat like bacon on it, it just wipes off so well. It fits two very large sandwiches at a time.… Read more

Also love the adjustable height, so if your sandwich is stacked with ingredients, the top of the press can sit higher and not squash the sandwich down too flat. I don't like it when the press is heating and cooling, as it makes very loud cracking noises. Also, the little plastic lever that adjusts the height of the top plate broke very easily (during a house move). The top of the press dents easily, but that hasn't affected the performance.

Excellent – My Sunbeam Cafe Press has been working since the day I bought it, without fail. It is so versatile and you can cook absolutely anything on it. I know of a lady at work who cooks steak on it during her dinner break on the night shift. Aside from the usual sandwiches and rolls, I also grill vegetables and meat skewers. It's good to reheat foods that… Read more

would otherwise go soggy in the microwave. I've even used it to cook a Korean barbecue with friends. It is so easy to clean. You just use damp paper towels. This is such a fantastic and reliable appliance that has been a dominant feature in my kitchen for many years. Extremely easy to clean non-stick surface. It doesn't take long to warm up. Can be a bit bulky to store but you can forgive its heaviness because you know that it is steady and won't topple over.

Good – I have found this press to be a great product. We use it quite often and so far it has lasted 3.5 years and we have had no problems. The non stick surface makes it so easy to clean even after frying bacon and eggs on it. The only annoying thing is how heavy and bulky it is. This product heats up fast and is very easy to clean. It is quite heavy… Read more

and bulky so it can be a bit annoying to get out all the time. If you use it regularly and have the space I would recommend just leaving it out.

Good – This is an affordable household device that is handy to have around as it makes eating healthy and hot lunches so easy. It heats up really quick and you just need to pop the food in and off it goes. Too simple. This cafe press is very handy to have around as you can make quick and healthy lunches within minutes with one of these. It is solidly… Read more

build and heats up super quick as well. Pretty easy to clean and store. It is a bit bulky and big if you just want to be making the odd grilled sandwich in it.

Good – This is a really great product for making sandwiches at home. It is a healthy option as well and the sandwiche maker is pretty powerful yet is not going to use up that much power being a smaller sized appliance. I find that I use these grills a lot more in the winter months and they are great when you are stuck for a lunch idea. They are pretty… Read more

easy to clean but it is hard to find a good place to store them. Make yummy sandwiches while not using up a lot of power in the process. Easy to clean.

OK – I really don't use this very often as I find it hard to pull in and out of the cupboard and its so big it takes up so much space. But saying that, it is very easy to clean and heats up quickly. I've got all the Sunbeam Cafe series and this is my least favourite appliance. Good if you work in a cafe where it can be left out permanently. Great size… Read more

for making multiple sandwiches. Plates are very easy to clean. Latches are great safety mechanism. Too big and heavy. Not only does it take up bench space but storage is difficult. Also it is so heavy it squashes sandwiches flat.

Good – I initially didn't like this sandwich press because (unlike my previous old-style sandwich maker) it didn't melt the cheese. But having overcome this dilemma by cutting the sandwiches before cooking, I find it easy to use and a joy to clean (unlike my previous old-style sandwich maker). Non-stick plates - really easy to clean (I just wipe over… Read more

with a paper towel after I use it while it is still hot). Grills huge rolls - I regularly put a large foccacia in mine. Cord wraps up underneath. Can store it on its side or flat. Has a catch to keep it closed so it doesn't fall open when it is stored on its side. Heats up quickly. Cheese doesn't melt in large sandwiches/rolls if you leave them whole. I cut mine into quarters and then the cheese melts nicely.

Good – I found this product very good. I used it making pancakes, much quicker than frypan as both sides can be cooked at the same time! I also cooked fried eggs from there which save myself time and effort to wash another frypan when I was in a hurry to go to work in the morning. I like the height adjustment lever as this enable me to adjust how close I… Read more

would like it to be to my Chinese pancake (this type of pancake is with filling inside therefore can't be pressed before it is totally cooked) and depends on the thickness of the pancake I can move the lever up and down. very convenient and thoughtful design. It heats up very quickly. and very easy to clean. nothing particular I can think of

Good – Mu husband badgered me to get this, so when a few items of the Sunbeam Cafe series were on sale in Myer, we bought it. It is a good toasting press, however I find that it doesn't heat for the sandwich to be thoroughly heated through particularly when you have really thick bread with lots of filling. I think this would benefit from a heat… Read more

setting, much like what you find on a toaster. I do like the pact that it is easy to use and clean. You can put jumbo sized sandwiches in without any problem.

Nice design and easy to use. Should have toasting settings.

Good – Had a gift voucher nearing expiry, so this was a frivolous purchase. But this sandwich press has proven me wrong. Great for paninis of any kind. Quick to heat up to begin using. Non stick surface means that food doesn't stick to it. But if foods such as melting cheese does drop on its surface then it is easy wiped off. Have used it for even… Read more

grilling eggplants, capsicum, zucchini etc without having to fire off my outside bbq. Oh, did I mention poppadoms -- pop a couple inside, shut the lid, and in no time they are done -- oil free !!

Shiny metallic external surface is easy to clean and after an occasional wipe it still maintains it as-new look. Easy to use. Quick to heat up. Lights to indicate when correct temperature has been reached for putting food in. Size may be an issue if you have limited bench top area.

Excellent – Overall we use this at my work place, which means many many employees using this! As you can then imagine it cops a battering, but you would never think so. The Sunbeam Cafe Press cleans well, cooks well and is easy to use every time. The grill and melt function ensure that your sandwich is cooked to perfection exactly the way you like it, the… Read more

Good – Sunbeam have delivered us a very handy product here with the Cafe Press as it is so needed when you have kids especially. I do occasionally do french toast in it which is great and as it has the large plate it fits large slices of bread too. Mostly i use it though for my kids ham/cheese/tomato sandwiches and I find it heats up quickly and with the… Read more

height adjustment lever it doesn't squash your sandwiches to a flat plancake and it evenly toasts your bread, and you know when it is ready when the green light come on. To clean just simply wipe over whilst still warm and whollaaa! all done. Browns quickly and evenly! Plate is fading, but still works well!

Excellent – I just about live off my Sunbeam Café Press I cook a large variety of foods in this. Toasted sandwiches cook to perfection on both sides evenly and in half the time leaving the centre filling nice and hot. Easily holds four sandwiches at a time even using the large cafe style loaf bread. Excellent for doing turkish bread and for making extra long… Read more

Excellent – We have one that has the flat non-stick cooking plate, with the top being a grilled plate. The flat non-stick erea is very easy to clean. We love making foccacia sandwhiches on this, cook kebabs, burgers etc. We use it all the time. In fact, the barbie has not been used since we purchased this grill! It has buttons so that you can adjust the… Read more

Excellent – I love my grill and use it regularly. It's easy to use, easy to clean and easy to store in the cupboard. It's a no brainer to use and even the kids can work it out. Thoroughly recommend. kebabs. It heats up very quickly and it accommodates any thickness you want, cooking both sides as the same time. After use I just wipe it with a sponge or paper towel. It locks at the side so it can be stored away standing up on its side. I bought the model with the flat non-stick cooking plates, but there is another model with non-stick grill plates. I cook 3 large kebabs quite easily at one time, but you could fit 4 it they touched.

Good – I recieved this for a 21st present and it has had a massive work out over the years. I find it is very easy to keep clean, just needs a qiuck wipe over, it hits up quickly and browns your toasted sandwiches very evenly. Would recommend this product to anyone and i have actually brought other people this one as well easy to use, heats up quick,… Read more

OK – Not a bad unit for home use but would struggle in a high work environment like a school canteen. Quality pretty ordinary but I've come to expect that from Sunbeam after our slow cooker fell apart after 15 months of light use. For the price though you get what you pay for. Will go out and spend a decent amount of money when (not if) this fails.… Read more

The non stick surfaces are mostly good and it is easy to clean. Couldn't believe the little light covers falling off straight away! Heats up quickly Covers for lights fell off immediately, uneven heating

Terrible – MY old $50 Breville sandwich press before this one was much Better. For the Price i am not Happy with it & after 3 months am Considering Getting a New Different Branded Press. Very Disappointed. Looks Good. Overpriced. Cooks Uneven. Everything sticks to it! Lid drops everything when opened.
