Best BBQ on the market if you can find one – As good as a Weber if not better at a quarter the price. Full cast alloy and plastic build so nothing rusts. 10/10 would recommend. Gets crazy hot and so easy to clean. Show details ·  1

A good little BBQ if you can't afford a Weber – Bought a new house in Brisbane and needed a much smaller BBQ for a much smaller deck - the old 4 Burner + Wok Burner had to go. I already own a Weber Q305 at my holiday house, which I have only praise for, so first thing I did was price a Weber Q220. Unfortunately, I decided I just couldn't afford it, so the search was on to find a similar sized… Read more

BBQ and the Sunbeam Innovo seemed to fit the bill perfectly - it even looks a bit like a Weber. Price for an Innovo is $399 (this price includes a stationary cart and also it comes with 2 styles of plate, on one half is an open grill and on the other a flat plate). If I was to buy the equivalent in a Weber I'd be up for $399 for the Q220, $179 for a stationary cart and $39.95 for a Breakfast Plate. Also, Harvey Norman gave me $50 worth of vouchers with my purchase, so by going with the Innovo I've saved myself a hefty $269. Which of course would mean nothing if the BBQ was crap, thankfully this isn't the case.

I've had this BBQ for almost a month now and use it at least 3 times a week. I've tried my hand at searing steaks on the open grill, I've cooked home made burgers, chops, cutlets and chicken wings, meat and vegetable kebabs, fried onions and grilled tomatoes, and also cooked a full English breakfast for a Sunday brunch. So far everything has come up trumps. Mostly I'm cooking for 2, but I have had an 8 person BBQ and on that occasion packed both halves of the BBQ with meat. Thankfully nothing stewed so that's another plus for the Innovo. The only thing I haven't done yet is to cook a roast with all the trimmings but I feel sure that will be a success as well. This BBQ has the bonus of having 2 burners, so while you're searing your steaks on your open grill, you can be frying onions and cooking other goodies on the flat plate. Alternatively, one burner can be on high and the other on low. Also, unlike the Weber, you don't have to cook with the lid down so if you're one of those types who likes to see every little piece of meat cook to perfection, then this is the BBQ for you. Of course, everything cooks a lot faster with the lid down, but you have options, which is something I like.

Sunbeam don't provide accessories for the Innovo but with all the money I've saved I'm going to buy myself a Weber Q220 Full Length Cover(which I believe fits the Innovo) and a trivet for the BBQ. The only downside I've found for the Innovo is that it doesn't have a porcelain-enameled cast iron grill and plate - this is where Weber stands out. So you have to take extra care with cleaning and re-oiling your plates if you want to avoid rusting. Inexpensive; Price includes a Stationary Cart; Two Burners; You can cook with the lid up or down, your choice It would have been nice to have porcelain-enameled cast iron - you have to be careful with the clean up, remember to oil the plate to avoid rusting issues

I can live without stewed steaks – The only thing good about this is that it's easy to assemble, excluding the fact that if you have a 9kg gas bottle, you need to be a contortionist to turn it on. My first attempt was a roast chicken. Yes, I followed all instructions and two hours later for a number 13 chicken, it was raw on the inside. I cooked some steaks the next night. Heated… Read more

the plate for 15 minutes beforehand and had three stewed steaks. Next night I cooked three chicken thighs and it took half an hour. Tonight? Stewed steaks again.

I have cooked on hundreds of bbqs. I cook bbq parties for friends and I'm good at it. This piece of rubbish is going back in the morning. I just have to stave off the urge to hit it with my sledge hammer.

I read so many great reviews on this that I now wonder whether people have their taste in their back passage... or I just got the mother of all lemons.

No heat from burners. One burner at a time. Checked for gas leaks etc, all good.

EDIT: Although this is a Weber video, it works on the Sunbeam when you follow the second set of instructions.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhufRwsNy_M

Excellent – Why pay more for the Weber when this does it all and more ... Best value for money portable going around ... Great BBQ and much cheaper than equivalent Weber Q No Custom cover available ... But Q series 200 premium cover fits perfectly..

Excellent – Great BBQ, so much value for money and works well. why buy a cheap (<$300) 4 burner BBQ that's going to rust in few years when you can buy this compact portable BBQ. This is a grat BBQ, I bought it for $300 form bing Lee. Much better than Webber q etc which cost more and you have to buy plates and trolley extra. This model has two independent… Read more

burners where as in webber q its only one. Its easy to clean. Not bulky like 3 and 4 burner bbq. BBQ is portable, top part comes off so you can take it to beach etc. Enough to cook for 8-10 ppl. The firebox not going to rust as its made of plastics.

What I've been looking for! – Compact and efficient (in most areas) is what I call this little beauty. I don't know why but my first use of the Innovo resulted in the best steak I've ever cooked on a barbecue and I've done a few in my 60+ years. I got a good deal from Harvey Norman's and even though they took a while to get one in, as luck would have it the arrival coincided… Read more

with timely further 15% store discount!

The only quibble I have is the restricted access one has to the tap on

a 9kg gas cylinder when it is placed on the trolley. Future design modifications should address this inconsistency in what is otherwise an excellent product.India rubber men and very short people may ignore this comment.

All I need now, other than getting SWMBO to make a cover or buy one of the Opposition's, is an excuse to use it again. See above plus easy to assemble. See above plus why wasn't this around when I bought my last rustbucket?

Excellent – I bought this about 2 months ago after looking at a Weber Q 220, which is everyone's dream machine. I had a close look at both of them and the quality of construction and also of cooking was at least as good as the Weber. Sunbeam have copied the Q series and ha ve done so very well indeed. The Innovo has 2 stainless steel burners and two… Read more ·  1

heat control knobs, which gives added flexibility over that of the Weber and I have had a good chance to compare the two, since my brother has the Weber Q220.

We both agree that the Innovo cooks and performs every bit as well as the double the price Weber and I reckon it is a genuine bargain, given that it can be bought for way under it's RRP, where Weber do not discount at all.

Mine came with a trolley included, which cost something like $140 on the Q220 and all up, with gas bottle and a five year warranty, it cost me just under $400.

The Weber , with trolley and gas bottle would have cost another $300 and it doesn't do anything better than the Sunbeam Innovo.

In fact, the Innovo is better IMO because of the extra burner control, which gives you flexibility when you are cooking and I would defy anyone to say that the Weber was better in any particular way. The Weber is definitely a great BBQ, but so is the Innovo and ,if you shop around, it will cost you about 50% less money.

This would easily be the best small BBQ I have ever used and believe me, I have used a lot.

I previously had a large 5 burner Beefeater when the family was at home more, but after 15 years it was time for a new one that was smaller, but which could still cook easily for up to 8 people and could also be packed up and taken away for weekends and picnics etc.

To say the least, I don't miss the large BBQ at all and the Innovo actually cooks better and uses about a quarter of the gas.

To anyone thinking og a Weber Q, I urge you to look at the Innovo first, forget the names and compare. If you are not swayed by Weber's marketing, you will get a better value for money product that is at least as good if not better and you will have well over $250 in your pocket to buy other things.

To sum up, the Sunbeam Innovo is a great BBQ and an astonishing bargain. Forget the Weber and buy this if you value your money and don't want to pay extra for a reversible solid plate and trolley, that should come standard anyway. Compact, well made, cooks really well, very economical with gas usage, easy to clean, great value, amazing value for money. Realistically, nothing.

Good – I'm very happy with the purchase. I'm glad I resisted the temptation of buying a Weber Q and saved myself some money. Compact size, portability, sturdy quality build, will not rust, separate cast iron grill and hot plate, easy to clean, 2 burners have separate controls, comes with stand, thermostat on lid, WORKS WELL! IMO it's a Weber Q for half… Read more

the price! Great for a balcony BBQ. I picked this up on sale at Bing Lee for $285. Side tables are a bit flimsy but seem better than the Weber Q ones. Would have given 5 stars if it was even cheaper.
