Perfect Mini Oven – We've had ours for more than 3 years and its perfect for warming up bread and reheating left over kfc and pizza or anything you don't want going soggy in the microwave and instead of emptying the larger oven. I usually have some savoury bread warming up in it when I'm getting ready in the morning and leave an extra slice inside to keep warm for the next person whose up as I'm leaving. Show reply

Returned for Refund - Inefficient and temperature not high enough – Update: Put oven on for 20mins at high setting 205 Celsius and measured the temperature with an oven thermometer. temp only went up to 150 Celcius! Returned oven for a refund. It's a good sized unit for a small space and looks nice. Unfortunately it doesn't heat very well and takes forever to cook anything. It takes about an hour to cook frozen… Read more
chips and 30mins for a few mini spring rolls, for example. My old Kmart toaster oven worked much better!

Compact, yet suitable – 10 litre capacity. This is a great addition to all kitchens. The Sinbeam Mini B & G is a very mini version of an oven. Sure, you cannot put a whole chicken to cook etc, but it isn’t designed for that. It’s a great little unit for making open toasted sandwiches or heating meals as opposed to the microwave which gives you a soggy effect. It’s basic… Read more
yet useful. This is perfect for single persons and families who would like to heat up a meal or cook something small. I’ve tried with chicken portion and cooks well, saves me using my family oven for something small. My kids love it too as it is quick and easy. The design itself has 2 knobs, 1 for adjustable temperature which goes to 220 degrees up to toast or simply keep warm. Timer knob in increments of 5 min, total 30 min per use. 1200/watts with a 12 month replacement warranty. Love it

Hello viewers, an update to the Sunbeam Mini Bake & Grill. After a couple of weeks use, it blew up. It was great whilst it lasted, but very disappointing on life span. Simply, it sparked and bam. Would I personally replace, unfortunately no. I’m not certain at this stage if i can recommend if the item won’t last a month.

Most used appliance in the kitchen – This little gem is used constantly! Our other oven is far too big for day to day cooking (great for roasts and dinner parties though!). Grill, toast and bake, the 'on' feature (rather than timer) mean we can use this to slow cook too over the day. I'll never be without one! Show details · 1
Very Handy – I use this oven quite a lot, mainly for toasted sandwiches or English muffins and it heats up really quickly. It's easy to clean with the removable tray at the base. My son uses it to heat up sausage rolls as it's quicker to use instead of the big oven. Show details
Excellent value for money though with some minor flaws – I wanted a very small oven for my kitchen benchtop for situations where using the main oven was complete overkill. For the most part then, my usage of the Sunbeam BT2600 has been for baking small "single serve" items and for keeping food warm (or re-heating). I am very impressed with the BT2600 when the asking price is taken into consideration -… Read more · 1
$68 delivered was incredible value in my view for an item that does what it says on the tin, nothwithstanding some limitations which I will get to in a moment.
But the main plus point is simply what I just mentioned above - it works exactly as advertised and can indeed happily substitute for using a main oven so long as the food portion/s are small enough to fit. Of course that in itself might be a negative point for some people as the capacity really is quite small. You either need to be quite inventive at times as to how you place the food items on the shelf or you might consider getting something a little larger than this. It suits me perfectly fine as a single person but I'm not sure it might suit couples, for example, it they are cooking or re-heating for two.
Other plus points are that the temperature you set seems to be pretty accurate, it has a very loud and clear bell tone when the timer setting expires and it makes no discernible noise during operation. Now onto the not-so-good points:
Firstly, the door - when opened fully - falls naturally to a level even below the bottom of the unit's feet. This means if you have the unit placed on the edge of the benchtop, the front of door will hang down over (and below) the edge. It just doesn't seem very secure or robust when you see the door behave in this way - I always think it wants to break off it's hinges so I treat it very gingerly. I am not really sure why the door just doesn't have a precise "stop" position when it is horizontal rather than letting it hang down so far. For this reason I have the oven placed a few inches behind the benchtop edge so the door gently rests on the benchtop surface itself rather than having to support its own weight.
Secondly, although there is a warning annotation on the top of the oven cabinet stating that the surfaces get hot, I think this warning could be made a little more obvious (a much brighter colour for starters) and it should be printed at least twice on the cabinet rather than just once as it is now. I just think the relatively small black on dark grey warning might be missed by unfamiliar (or very young) users not paying adequate attention to the task at hand - a potentially significant issue given how hot the cabinet does actually get when you have the temperature wound up.
Thirdly (and this is admittedly pedantic), the temperature control knob has a rather "cheap" feel to it. Don't expect it to feel anything remotely like the temperature control on your main oven - instead it has a very unsatisfactory "scratchy" feel and does not really move very smoothly. Yes, it does the job just fine, but it is clear that is an an area where costs had to be cut in order to meet the price point. But then again, as I said at the outset, what can you reasonably expect for a $60 oven?
Overall though, I am really thrilled to own an appliance like this that does exactly what I hoped it would do at such an attractive price. Even if it only lasts 4 or 5 years, I would still be giving this item a very solid 4 star rating.

dissapointed – i had a mini grill 20yrs before i had to replace it,[wonderful little kitchen appliance, ] i then replaced it with a new mini grill,BT2600, 7mths ago i purchased a new mini grill, got it home plugged it in, dead on arrival, took it back, 35klm drive as i live in a small town, changed it for a new one, the store were great never quibbled, ive had… Read more
the second one for 7mths and it has died , so ill move on to another brand, the comments here [ and my personal experience] lead me to believe that it is 'hit and miss' with this appliance.
Don't Buy, it's junk – I had an earlier model and was great until element failed. I got this new model and set as per instructions and it does not toast the bottom of the bread. I rang Sunbeam and they sent a replacement. Same thing. They sent me another one and the 3rd one did not toast properly either. Sunbeam have stopped answering my emails. I asked them to test the last one before shipping, but that did not happen. Show details

Short lived – This is my third one from this same series. First one barely made it to 1 year before plastic handle melted and came off. 2nd one lasted just a bit longer than 1 year and stopped heating. 3rd one now has to go back for return as it keeps smoking and doesn't stop. This brand has very short life span. Very unhappy and will be last time I purchase another Sunbeam product again. Show details

Good product – I love this mini oven. I've had mine for almost 10 years and it still works perfectly. I first bought it when I moved into a rental properly and their oven didn't work. This mini oven did the job and cooked well. I still use it to this day cooking up my daughters food or smaller meals as opposed to heating up a big oven. Show details
Works Very Well – It grills my chops well. The temperature control does go on and off all the time. I suppose when it heats up to the required temperature then it turns itself off to avoid going over that temperature. It could have been made slightly larger as it is a little too small, but it is very convenient and I use it all the time. Don't even use my oven any more as I find I don't need it. Would buy one again if required. Show details
I would not recommend this one – The temperature control is shocking - when I turn the oven on, the heat light keep coming on and off. Not sure what’s going on , I set it at 90c and put my oven thermometer in it. Within 10 mins the temperature in the oven reached 120c and keep going up while the heat light keep turning on and off itself. There are smoke coming out from the oven… Read more
, NOT from where the cooking tray / heat element are, but from the inside ( mechanical part) of the oven. And there is some burnt smell too . ( I only put the thermometer on the cooking tray in the oven and nothing else and my thermometer is not burnt. ) Worried that this may be a fire hazard I turned the oven off immediately. I think I will return the oven .....

Good Oven – This little oven helps me a lot. I use it every day for warming my bread. I even used it to bake my favourite banana cake, muffins, pizza, lasagna, chicken dishes... it never made me disappointed. For such a little oven, can use to cook so many different dishes. It is amazing. Together with the perfect size and the economical price, I think it is… Read more
worth to own one. As it is a small oven, the light goes on and off quite often. Once the temperature heat to the set level, it will be off to keep the temperature in that level. While the temperature drops, it will automatically on again. I think it is normal. I have been using it for over two years, never have any problems at all.
Doesn't last – It's a good little oven and convenient to heat up food and toast bread. But similar to other users, the problem is it doesn't last. Always dies right after the one year mark. This is my second unit, thinking that maybe the the first was something QC might have missed. But didn't know they were so good at their job that it is perfectly timed to kick the bucket as soon as the warranty runs out. Show details
Ervery home must need one of the product like this – Basically it works five times everyday since 8 months. It has not burned yet( the past 10 machines I use only last 6 months ). The annoy thing is that you only have one choice, either grill or toast( cant turn the knob too much otherwise it won’t work the next morning ). Another thing is that the heat is not consistent. bread, exact same time, one day it is not crunchy and other days it burns, so we basically have to adjust by standing next to it.
wish I'd bought one sooner – Excellent little oven which is perfect for 1 or 2 people....although could well be useful for side dishes, desserts etc. for families too. It is really great that because of the small size it heats up very quickly. (about 2-3 minutes to get to 180º) I find it good for toasting too, as you can actually see how brown the bread is getting. good for 12 months then doesn't work properly lost top element – very good for it's function..ideal, cooks most meals to perfection, great for for pizzas, chips, nacho's, cakes ,even roasts just doesn't last very long, I would think at least 3years of service, less than 2, not long enough at all..20 months, come on hey, you would expect a little more than that wouldn't you cheers Show details
Does the job – This is the second one of these I've owned, the original one lasted about 3 years. It is adequate for toasting, but agree you must watch it carefully. It is excellent for grilling small things, eg tuna melts, roasted red peppers. It is also fine for reheating, but again I feel that it would not be good to walk away & forget! I use it every day, with no problems. Show details
Cheap product with a relatively short life span and a bit clunky construction – We had this toaster-oven about 5 years ago, and it did its job with certain limitations while it lasted. Some of the problems that we had were: 1. The timer dial did not work if it was turned to a short time setting of say about 2-3 minutes e.g. for toasting. It just would not unwind itself. 2. As someone else had pointed, the tray does not have… Read more
a rack in it to allow the fat from meat to drip, which means its not exactly suitable for grilling.
3. Finally last week it developed a problem which we could not diagnose, but it kept tripping the safety switch in the main switchbox every time it was turned on.
4. When I tried to have a look at it, I realised the construction of the cover panel was extremely clunky, and as someone has mentioned, had at least 3 different types of screws, rivets etc! That was pretty shoddy design.
My mom has a toaster-oven made by National, and was bought in 1991, and still does a great job!
Having said all this, I will agree that at its price, it's quite cheap and does the job if it survives.

Didn't even last a year – Item gifted to me brand new. I used this 1-2 times a week, whether toasting or grilling/oven. The last 2 times I have used the oven, it has burnt the tops of my food to a crisp - like I have had the toast selected. Item gifted to me brand new. If you get one that works, they're brilliant – After reading the reviews, I was cautious about buying one. The price point is obviously bottom dollar, so you can't expect miracles, just something which is safe. Mine turned out to be spot-on and works perfectly. Does everything it says in the manual! It's a low cost item and you might need to return it if it has a fault. Just bear that in mind. Show 2 replies

a littel gem – i have been lucky; every 5 years, i purchase a replacement and have been using this oven for the over 15 years. i absolutely love it! it completely serves the purpose for us, takes up hardly any space and so easy to bake small lots. the only complaint is once the back gets splattered, you can't clean it and the stains remain forever. sunbeam,… Read more · 1

Save your money waste of money – I bought this to replace my old one which I had for over 10 years and I used it nearly everyday, so my disappointment with this new one makes me angry as total waste of my money as does not do what the old one used to do. I used to cook chips in it and this one takes so long and even on the highest temperature they still took too long, so I would… Read more
never try to cook a cake which I did in the old one. Even when I used the toaster it was not the same it says grill with no grill wire to put my meat on how can I grill? The meat would be in the tray the way it says in the book so the meat would be in the fat from the meat sitting in the tray so that is not grilling as the fat is suppose to drop through the wire away from the meat, so they should of supplied a grill wire like the old one had unfortunately I had thrown my old one out with the old oven. So totally disappointed in this new oven and wish I had not bought it and feel like taking it back to get my money back, but not sure that I would get it back so think I am stuck with a useless piece of crap.

RE -Thermostat on this model – We as reviewers of this product fully understand what a thermostat does. In the case of this model and batch at the time of buying and reviewing the thermostat failed. The toast/grill function would not heat at all in all three units. IT seems to me DUUUUR cannot understand the basic principals of TOAST/Grill Function or maybe DUUUR has no need use or know how.

Very happy – The oven is easy to use and easy to clean with a removable crumb tray at the bottom. Good for quick snacks or more complicated dishes. You can either use a timer or switch on and turn off when ready. Had bought a different brand which malfunctioned and couldn't be replaced so traded up for this and it works better. It's light enough to pick up and store away in a cupboard when not in use. Even thinking of getting one for my son.
Great for students! – Love it. Perfect. Very handy. Does everything you need it to for 1-2 people. I am a student where there are no ovens and this is what I use for all my baking needs. Does everything from roast potatoes to brownies. Takes less time to heat up than a regular oven as well!
Great Product – What a great little oven, I bought this about 3 months ago to use less power than regular oven for things like meat pies, hash browns, frozen fish bits etc, and it works perfectly, The thermostat light blinks on and off, for all those negative reviews, that's what a thermostat does, Another great product from a great company, . Don't waste your money – I purchased one of these in December 2014 form Good Guys (no problems with them at all), got it home and lower element wouldn't work, took it back for replacement, used replacement for 6 months then the time stopped during count down. I have usually had a good run with other Sunbeam products but not this one. Not a very good product.
SUNBEAM MINI BAKE AND GRILL - NEVER BUY ONE AGAIN – Have had two of these over the years , each lasting for 3 to 4 years before needing replacement. Took it back on Tuesday for a replacement , go to use it and… Read more
exactly the same fault in the replacement. Would assume that the thermostat
has not been connected to the temperature control..........will be getting our money back on this unit and not
replacing it.
Extremely dangerous – I just bought this oven and tried to make a toasted sandwich and it caught fire only after about a minute. Thank God I was in the kitchen when it happened and hadn't walked away from it. I switched everything off and carried it outside, fire and all. I think it's best place is in the bin.
Sunbeam bake and grill – Bought one yesterday, taken it back this a.m. Same as previous. Should have looked on line. The thermostat light keep coming on, every few seconds.
Very disappointed – I have owned 2 of these mini ovens in the last 10 years and they performed very well. This new one doesn't heat properly and the thermostat regulates too soon before the desired temperature is reached. On full heat (Toast - 240°) the thermostat keeps switching on/off even with the door opened fully, making it useless for just about anything… Read more
including toast. Baking is impossible and the only use I can find is warming/re-heating. I'm sure there must be a bad batch of these units currently. Either that or the quality has reduced to a low level.
First One not bad – While traveling around Oz i have no oven only my baby webber bbq but needed something for winter I found this its cheap and small so it was perfect for the van had it for a few months now find it to be great for what I need it for,I lined the bottom with foil for easy cleaning, I have toasted sandwiches grilled chops, cooked chicken pieces warming up is also great so far so good.
