I’d give 10 stars ⭐️ if I could! – I believe I bought this old fella in 2007ish. It has been my favourite since then. I use it at least once a week, if not more! It has never put a foot wrong… until this past week. The blade assembly seems to ride up during use. I don’t want to have to replace it, because I know nothing will come even close to Oscar! It slices like katana, shreds… Read more

like the best snowboarder, it mashes better than regular monsters, mixes far better than the best mixologist on the planet and grinds better than the average miller!

Fixed at 24 months, then ran for 8 years – It did its job, or so Mrs Dalek tells me, of chopping and mixing her various ingredients. Nothing strange going on there. However, the first failure occurred about 2 years in. Out to the workshop and extract the motor delay start thingy which had cracked its internal contact-plate off of its solenoid spigot. No time-travel required here, just a… Read more

re-weld of the contact-plate back on to the spigot and some sympathetic screws added to the lid of the thingy to make it all solid again. Poor quality point of failure for something otherwise built quite well internally.

It went back into action with Mrs Dalek extracting another 6 years service, until the motor decided to hum and not turn on start. The rule of the Daleks is you get to survive until you are no longer useful - so it is now exterminated.

Wonderful product ! – I purchased my Oskar as I needed a reliable food processor, at the time we had a lot of functions to cater for. I have had many years of amazing service from this wonderful product. It is still going strong, and parts are available if required. One of the things I love is , no matter the job the Oskar can handle it.  Show details

EXCELLENT – Although the bowl can be considered a weakness & has been replaced once I have not had any other problem with this machine in approximately 10 yrs. The motor seems to be so strong it should last another 20 yrs. just be careful with the bowl. Blades work and disasemble fine

7 years and still going – We use ours in a busy cafe and other than replacing the odd dropped jug it has been exemplary. My husband sharpened the blades just the other day and hey presto. She's good as new. Honestly. It was so good he got me the mini for home and I love it as equally. I want another one please. Love the handy storage drawer and its easy as to clean.

No power, dull blades – I hate my Sunbeam Oskar Professional. It has made roti dough about 3 times and now does not work. Of course it was a few months out of warranty when this was discovered so I have no recourse. At first I thought it was just the s blade gone dull which I found annoying since it has been used less than 10 times in total, but I have also tried grating… Read more

and slicing and these blades have never been used before and still as soon as there is the slightest pressure, the blade stops spinning. I can't even make hummus! Last time I tried which was when I discovered it was not working, I ended up putting all the ingredients into my 4 year old little Kenwood tri-blade ($100) and the hummus was done in 30 seconds. I'm going to get a quote for repair but if it's over $100 it isn't worth repairing and I will just cut my losses and not buy Sunbeam again. Maybe it's a motor issue and will be under warranty but reading these other reviews I am not holding out for a positive result on that one. accessory drawer heavy, not powerful enough, blades dull with none or hardly any use.

Good while it lasted – Just short of a year, the motor on our unit began to fail. As an electrician, it appears the windings were burning out and the machine gradually lost torque - which was very frustrating until we figured out what was happening. It had not had heavy, nor even daily, use up to that point. Took it back for a replacement, but decided against getting… Read more

another the same. Very powerful, good blade reach, great accessories for fast & efficient chopping, large bowl size, under unit parts storage. Expected a 'professional' quality machine, but didn't even last the distance for regular but infrequent use.

Reliable and Versatile – After around three years of abuse my unit is still going strong. I regularly make pastry, which is probably the toughest thing for a food processor. I don't quite understand the complaints about removing the blade, mine comes off easily, and you can always hold the blade upside down and give it a gentle tap on the bench. The slicer works… Read more ·  1

well and can save a lot of time compared to manual chopping.

The storage under the unit holds everything except for the slicing blade meaning the attachments are close at hand.

My only real complaint is the wider mouth on the newer models would be very useful (which is why this isn't 5 star). Other than that, I couldn't be happier. Reliable, well made, great value Wider mouth chute would be better

Oskar durability – I have owned one for three years now and am ready to replace the bowl for the third time due to cracking around the spindle base. Expensive as you have to purchase through a repair shop as if it were a service part. I used an epoxy glue to seal the cracks which worked well for nearly six months but now the spindle is so loose it has to be replaced… Read more

anyway:(

Great product in every other way. I just tap the central hub upside down on the bench to remove the blade. Holding the blade by the outside, blunt edge of course and have never even nicked myself. I am 60 and have arthritis in my fingers but have never found this a problem. Powerful and quiet. Good capacity. Poor quality plastic used to make the bowl.

I love it! – I'm a massive Sunbeam fan. I've always thought of the brand as being a good one, safe, secure, and good products. This food processor doesn't disappoint me. It's easy to use, no more difficult than any other food processor re removal of lid (the lid has to be tight, otherwise it won't work and could be dangerous!) - I love the charcoal colour,… Read more ·  1

and love the steadiness of the feet.

The storage drawer is fantastic, and it isn't too noisy!! it's about as noisy as all the others. it has a Five Year warranty. The other thing that is a must for people like me, who bake almost every day, is that it has a strong, powerful motor. Look for an Induction Motor. that's what you want, and look for 1000 W or higher. This has both! I did a lot of homework before I bought this. searched the net, spoke to salespeople, checked various stores. I have been using it a lot and love it so far. Of course, I've only just bought it, so time will tell but so far, so good.

Chopping blade is very difficult to remove without losing a finger!

Hard to get blades out to access food – I've found it works great but removing the blades after grating etc is really difficult. I'm under 40, no arthritis & find it really difficult to remove the blades. Also the storage tray for blades is a great idea, but this too can be difficult to open. Commonly found that when grating veggies, a large piece would get stuck between the blade &… Read more

lid which would either stop the blade spinning or lead me to have to search through grated food to find the chunk if its slipped down the side of the blade.

I'm so frustrated with the removal of blades that I'm looking at reviews to buy a new food processor. Found it worked ok Blades really hard to remove (had to use spoons either side sometimes)

Terrible service! – I just got off the phone with sunbeam complaining about the spindle and blade and was totally blown off. I have found it is really difficult and dangerous to get the spindle and blade apart. I was told they have never heard of this problem ( even though it is all over the web in reviews of the product). They asked I send back the spindle and blade… Read more

so they can see this "highly unusual" defect and will replace if necessary. I asked they just send a new spindle and i would just keep the blade and spindle permanently together and have a backup spindle for the shredder and other blades How does a company have their head so thoroughly in the sand. The rep said they don't listen to online reviews as "everyone has an opinion". So frustrating! Would not purchase again. The food processor is an okay machine otherwise, not great or overly powerful considering it's watts. Good storage of blades Dangerous and difficult to get blade and spindle apart, noisy, heavy, hard to get lid off, poor customer service in NZ

I agree with all of this. I worry sometimes that I might slip and cut my hand on blade, and have trouble putting lid on and off also!

Good – I really like this food processor and in general Sumbeam products. It's well into it's 2nd year, bordering on it's 3rd and I've never had a problem with it. It does what it's supposed to. Chops, grates, slices, grinds. Mine is 2 years old and still going strong. The rubber ring seal often gets caught and it's hard to get the lid on. The middle piece that holds the blade gets food in it that's hard to get out. It's noisy!

Terrible – Don't bother buying this product. The parts that break shouldn't!!! I have to throw away the lot due to minor breakages. No more Sunbeam for me!! It processes food basically. The bowl is not strong enough. Showing signs of cracking from the middle. The plastic locking mechanism on the base/motor breaks easily & renders this machine absolutly… Read more

useless. Too hard to get replacement parts. May be too costly to pay labor on replacing simple broken parts.

OK – Plastic in the middle of the slicing blade broke in the first week of purchasing this machine. Had the blade replaced but it broke again. This time we replaced the whole machine with a Breville Food Wizz. Only had the Oskar for 3 weeks. The draw at the bottom is handy for the extra blades. Great of mincing fish for patties. Bulky and heavy base. Lid too tight and hard to remove.

I have no problem removing the lid. I keep it on my kitchen bench, so moving it isn't an issue for me.

Terrible – although mine says a big 1100w motor it has more trouble doing the same heavy load, than the multiprocessor at less than half the price with the 800w motor, and although the container says 2 litre and the sunbeam multi only says 1.75, both containers are actually the same size.So the sunbeam multi processor stands out as a much better machine all… Read more

round for a lot less money looks nice, quiet motor, motor over heat cut out switch is a very good addition low power, very little more capacity than its smaller brother,a lot of money for a little more
