The design is very odd – This machine blends well, however first you have to get the base installed correctly. As the way of doing this uses the lid which is plastic, it difficult to get it installed correctly. Each time I use the machine I have to run a test sample of water to make sure it will not leak everywhere. I consider this a major design fault, which is a pity as it is strong machine with a good sized glass jug. I use it very rarely because of this. Show details

Multiple Uses – The advantage of this Sunbeam blender is that unlike cheaper blenders, it can handle hot liquids making it perfect for soups thank to the glass jug. It is a powerful blender, so less stopping and starting and works longer than other models before overheating. The only issue I have is cleaning. I wish it had a detachable base, so there is less wastage. Show details
Excellent blender – I have had this blender for some years now. It has performed flawlessly. It is easy to clean if you read the instructions on how to remove the blade assembly with the ingredient cap on the lid section. It blends everything I throw at it, vegetables, fruits, ice, hot liquids, the lot. My only complaints are that you cannot completely remove the… Read more
base of the glass jug for a real good scrub and that the ingredient cap used for screwing the blade assembly in and out is a bit brittle. Having said that, it never really gets dirty enough to warrant removing the base. I have after 5 years just sharpened the blades. It is a normal duty blender that does household domestic duties well. It is not a commercial unit
Really good for the price – My rating takes into consideration the price of the blender. I think this is a really good blender for less than $100. I had one for 4 years, it did everything I wanted it for. It can even crush frozen fruit if you know how to handle it. It needs to rest when you blend something thick, otherwise you burn the motor, but if you are nice to it, it… Read more
will last you a while.
When the motor finally burnt (which is to be expected after a while) I went and bought another one, because I knew that for $70 I'll get a blender that will serve me well.
I was considering buying a Vitamix, but I just can't justify paying such a high price for something I'd use 3 x a week. Even if Vitamix lasted me 10 years, I'm still better off buying 3 or 4 $70 blenders...

Broken glass jug a joke – Borrowed the title from a previous review as its perfect! Glass jug cracked while cleaning with hot water. Only used dozen times. Agree with all other comments, this jug is a joke! how hard can it be to make a jug that can be cleaned properly with hot water. Sorry Sunbeam its a fail. Make crap products you will get crap reviews. Show details
Stupid Design – My son bought this blender for me for my birthday a couple of years ago. It works fine until the other day, I felt like a milk shake, so I filled the bowl up and it started running out the bottom, because the blades were not screwed in properly. I removed the bowl immediately but not before it ran all over the base. I cleaned the outside then… Read more
realised that the milk had entered the motor housing, so I had to dismantle it to clean the milk out of the inside. When I looked, the design allows any liquid to enter the motor housing. I had an old Sunbeam blender which was great and it was sealed so nothing could get into the motor housing. Why with a newer model why have they done that? I wouldn't recommend one.
Save your money – I bought this blender 8months ago. The blender really struggled with anything that did not resemble banana. The middle of the container now leaks whatever I put into it. I've decided to throw it out. Do yourself a favour and buy a quality product that lasts rather than this blender.

Well used, well loved appliance! – I'm baffled at bad reviews, because I've used my blender for all sorts of things, particularly smoothies with crushed ice, and soups (although I prefer stick blender for soups) and it has always performed as expected. If not looked after or not used properly, I wouldn't expect it to last, no matter how well it's made. With chunky ingredients I… Read more · 1
always pulse or blend at a slower speed until it's more broken up, before turning up the speed.
Yes, I've washed it in hot water and it didn't crack. If I've just made an icy smoothie though, I let it warm up before washing in really hot water.
The blade and seal comes apart for easy cleaning. I definitely recommend this blender, if you're not in a position to purchase a high-speed, commercial quality blender.
Prefer the glass jug – i bought this specifically for the glass jug because I mostly use it for soup and often am working with hot liquids. Well the jug is fine but I am not in love with the design of the blades because they often clog up and I have to find something like a chopstick to unclog them and get things moving again. Apart from that, its pretty good and… Read more

Garbage – Step 1 - I purchased this at Good Guys and it lasted 3 months and seized, so I took it back Step 2 - I was given another Sunbeam model and this one lasted a little longer about 5 months, took it back again. Step 3 - I will never get Sunbeam again.
Sunbeam PB7610 replacement glass jug – Found this site on line to order replacement glass jug after cracking old one with hot water. Great performing product. Couldn't figure out how to get blade mechanism off old and onto new jug. This site sharing ideas gave me the hint "use lid as key to undo mechanism from under the base". Presto it worked! I have never been able to dismantle to… Read more
clean it properly in over 8 years. Great that you can buy parts for this quality product and better still providing this site to share ideas (as I was about to throw out the new $55 jug as it could not work out disassembly). Sunbeam, your equipment needs to be more intuitive to disassemble with clearer instructions in the manual but great product for another 8 years use. Glass jug replacement availability No instructions as to how disassemble blade mechanism from old jug
Broken glass jug a joke – Bought this blender because it looked quite nice and liked the idea of a glass rather than plastic jug. Bad idea - glass cracked and now the whole thing is useless. Fed up with companies selling rubbish and expecting you to jump through hoops when it breaks a few months later if you want to keep it. So much for the customer. I won't be buying… Read more
Sunbeam stuff again. May as well pay half as much for cheap Chinese imports which last just as long before you throw them out as well. Looks Glass breaks
Disappointing – Every time I have to remove the blades to clean this blender, I remember how much I actually hate it. The design is terrible and makes it really hard to clean. Also, mould seems to accumulate underneath the rubber seal quite easily which is disturbing and unhygienic. I will replace this unit with a new one soon, and not a Sunbeam. Design, difficult to clean, unhygienic, quality of the blades,

Nothing Special – This blender works fine for me. Needs a few hits to get it going with my smoothies, it doesn't really like ice or frozen berries. It's heavy and hard to clean which is frustrating. I haven't had a whole lot to complain about it but I wouldn't recommend to a friend. It works Heavy and hard to clean

Terrible choice – This blender was the worst appliance I have ever bought. It leaked from the first time I used it and was impossible to clean properly. It stopped working after a week and I threw it out. I didn't try to make anything complicated with it either - just banana smoothies for my kids. Never buying Sunbeam again.
Good unit, But horrible to pour with the Jug – Good Unit, But pouring with the Jug is horrible, Sunbeam may as well not even put a spout there, if you can call it that. I like the Glass jug, motor runs well, i freeze bannas and put them in the blender with ICE and milk, works well.. but so hard to pour our. If you get one for free grab it, but pouring it is a pain. It Blends. It does not pour cleanly.
Hi Aaron, Thank you so much for your feedback which will be forwarded onto our Design Team.
So far so good – i bought couple month ago and it was for milkshake most time and crashing ice was all ok... ater i read all the reviews from other people here and lets wish mine one wont be broke at all... i would be very disappointing...specially the customer service sounds horrible to me .... bought it on sale ..was 20$ off or something
Cracked Jug poor customer response – I have the same problem as others, have used this blender 6 times only bought 5 months ago so still in warranty. Was making cocktails with small amount of ice and the glass jug just cracked. Obviously a defect, but when you call customer service they say too bad not covered. The replacement Jug is the same price as a what i paid for Blender on… Read more

Great Product – We have had a PB7610 since 2005 and have used it almost daily. Mainly for milkshakes, however the milkshakes often consist of frozen bananas and frozen berries. Its very hard wearing from our experience. We have noticed that for best blending results (as far as milkshakes), we blend to thick-shake, then add more liquid to get desired consistency… Read more
with a quick blend (else you will risk the occasional frozen bit).
I did try and grind almonds once, whilst it produced a great result, there was a electrical burn smell, so I didn't do that again.
At times the blades are quite difficult to remove, however reading reviews of the PB7600, you can use the lid to remove the blade. Since our blender is quite old with all original parts (including washer) occasionally it would leak, however we discovered that the washer needs to be inserted into the lip of the blade (at least when the washer gets old) so that it doesn't leak.
Noise wise, its relatively quiet compared to our other food processors (Kenwood FP185) & (Magic Bullet)about half the noise, however it will disturb any conversation within 7m of the product.
1 problem is that we poured boiling water over it last week, which caused a large crack in the glass. So we are now looking to purchase a new once since the glass replacement is approx. $55 plus delivery.
What we would like to know is if we purchase the PB7600 with a 1.5 litre heat-resistant glass jug, I assume it won't crack with boiling water or hot soup? Quick to Blend, Quiet compared to smaller products, 1.5 litres can make shakes for the whole family Glass jug cracked with boiling water.
Same Problem – I too had the same problem of the glass jug cracking . Not happy!!!!! I have only used it twice. I rang customer service at sunbeam and they basically said "bad luck buy a replacement jug" and proceeded to provide me with a number. The replacement jug that I was given a price for was more than I paid for the blender. Looking at the all the reviews… Read more
that are listed here there is obviously a problem with these jugs and Sunbeam needs to get on top of it and do something about it!!! Maybe be realistic and provide replacements at a reasonable price to customers that have purchased Sunbeam products would be a good start. I will never buy another Sunbeam product. Great power Cracked jug
Cracked glass – My glass cracked making watermelon juice with ice. Until then I was fairly happy although it did see to have a problem actually mixing everything up. It worked well until it broke It broke

Sunbeam burnt out after little use – Although I only used the Sunbeam occasionally it always had the funny faulty smell and was slow. I dismissed this thinking that the motor was just working itself in. Today it shat itself, it was only blending and has ever blended soft liquids and the motor stank my house out. Aaaargh! Not enough power, unreliable, horrible handling of liquid produce

Glass cracked as well – This is generally a good blender and I liked it until the jug cracked. It cracked after I was cleaning it out in cold water after having hot soup in it. My fault I guess after I reread the instructions. However, it sounds like many others have had the same problem. Blends well. Looks good. It can't handle hot liquids as glass jug cracks. I guess a polycarbonate one would be better.
OK – Great looking machine, handy accessory to sit on your bench top. Excellent for soups and milkshakes. Poor performer for breaking up ice for slushies or coocktails. Extremely noisy motor which is horrible to your ear. It is compact and fits neatly onto the kitchen bench. Easy to use, you can add items to it while blending via the removable cup,… Read more
sturdy, solid glass jug is easy to wash, looks elegant. Terrific for making milkshakes and soups. Extremely noisy and the motor has a piercing high pitched squeal which is unpleasant to your ear. The saleswoman a DJs said it would be perfect for blending ice to make slushies. Wrong. Most of the ice bounces around the base unit and not much gets broken up without lots of manual agitating.
Excellent – I really love this blender. Like I said above, it even blends nut milks to an almost smooth consistency. It's easy to clean by simply adding warm water and detergent and whizzing quickly and it's an attractive design to have on the bench. I'm very happy with it. It really blends! Soups are smooth, smoothies are smooth, even nut milks were almost… Read more · 1
grit free (not quite but almost). It even does ice.
It's been going strong for 2 years so far. It says you can grind nuts but I had problems with those, they just got stuck in the bottom.
It's noisy.
Terrible – I was sold this one after several cheap models broke. Now this one also broke, although it is supposed to be more robust. Square design fits well into small space Only blends liquids - despite the manufacturers claims. Mine broke once I tried to blend vegetables. Only a couple of months after I bought it.
Terrible – I contacted the manufacturer with my complaint (that this blender mixes liquids only). I asked why they have food recipes in the booklet, why the blender is pictured with food in it. Their explanation was useless. In my opinion, it is suitable for milkshakes etc.only. If that is what you want, buy a cheap blender. If you want to mix soft… Read more
food for soups, dips etc., buy a food processor where the blades cover the full diameter of the container. Like the square shape - looks like it would mix well I tried a dip recipe in the accompanying booklet. It didn't blend the food. I returned it to the shop and received a refund. (The shop agreed with me)
Great Power but No Heat To Combat Winter's Chill! – Great seal on the lid, powerful blending and handles a large volume. Blades/Cleaning: The blades are a lot larger than I'm used to and make blending a breeze also for all their efficiency the blades are pretty blunt and I can easily handle them, with little to no fear of self harm, meaning I'm happy to pull the machine apart and give it a… Read more
thorough clean each time. It rinses easily under running water and maybe a quick brush if you're just blending juice smoothies (no milk produces) then let drip dry. Have washed it a few times in warm soapy water then rinsed but not often.
Ice:
The machine handles ice very well however I've taken to leaving it blend for longer since otherwise there tends to be small chunks of ice, not a huge annoyance but noticeable.
Noise:
Blenders have never been the morning machine of choice and this one is no exception. While you can hold a conversation it can get pretty noisy particularly during and after you add ice, frozen fruit, you get the drift.
Temp:
I'm very disappointed that it's only room temp. heat tolerance wasn't displayed on the outside of the box, I would have taken it straight back if I didn't currently share a kitchen with someone who's blender did handle hot temp. plus I'd already unpacked the entire thing and driven home so it seemed too much bother.
Looking Back:
While this is a very easy to clean, powerful and overall efficient machine after reading numerous reviews of cracking glass plus heat issues I'd definably get something different and research the available stock a little more if I did it again. Also I'm now faced with the fact I'm going to have to replace or get a food processor of some description in the near future when my kitchen buddy and I part ways due to lack of heat tolerance plus the worry of unexpected braking glass and personal safety.
Overall:
Would definitely give it higher than an OK for efficiency and power but the lack of heat tolerance plus concern for breaking glass knocks it way down in my opinion, as like most people I'm after something versatile and long lasting, a different machine for every job really doesn't cut it in my books. Tight seal, volume, inbuilt measuring cup, power No heat resistance (not mentioned on box), possible breaking glass and injury, noisy, ice chips
Terrible – After owning this product for a month, I tried to blend soup which was warm and glass cracked! Replaced with a new one as I loved the look and it wasn't too cost effective. Having owned it now for almost 5 yrs I have never put anything warm in it again. However, it's terrible when trying to blend anything. I try to blend basil when making pesto… Read more
with no lunch. Only able to blend pesto with a whole lot of oil. Also unable to blend frozen corn even with cold chicken stock added in. Just a horrible little thing that looks nice on the bench top! I will never invest in anything glass again. About to splurge and purchase a breville kitchen wizz food processor as im hoping it will do all this machine hasn't been able to do! I think this blender is only useful for blending anything liquid already! Would be good for a milkshake..that's it! Looks nice on the bench top! Everything! Can only blend liquids and very noisy! And glass jug shatters with just warm water!
mmmmmm – I was excited when I got this for my birthday one year, because it crushes ice. However, I was soon to be disappointed. The crushing ice function doesn't work and the motor burned bad. At the start we thought because it was new. We did take it back to the seller, was told as what suspected "NEW". So we kept using it for couple more times, then… Read more
it didn't work anymore. The motor wasn't moving. We took it back and got a replacement right away, but still did the same Smoothie is not smooth at all. Crushing ice is lump ices. So disappointed.
Doesn't do what it suppose to
very disappointing – appliance does not draw unblended product to blades even 1 slice of bread [broken into pieces] sits above blade, using pulse button does not help. have to stop machine & poke product down. we are extremely disappointed with this product. we replaced a very very old s'beam blender that was an excellent machine thinking we would get the same reliable product how wrong we were. thank you did not do job we felt it was mean't to do.

Looks good, blends well, can't blend anything above room temperature – Bought the blender about a week ago, this one looked pretty good and wasn't the cheapest so thought i'd give it a crack. OK – Apart from a couple of minor annoyances, I loved this blender, it did an excellent job until it broke down. To unscrew the blades you need to use the measuring cup (which fits into the lid) as a "key", there are two indents in the rim of the cup which fit into 2 small slots on the bottom of the blender. It took us a while to figure out how to do… Read more
it because unscrewing it with fingers seemed near impossible, and I don't think this was mentioned in the instructions. it did a great job blending frozen fruits, ice, steamed veges etc.
Good thick glass blending container. The push on lid was quite annoying. Sometimes quite hard to pull off.
Afetr about 3 months of light use (maybe once every couple of days) the motor starting making a funny noise one day when I was blending some stewed apples. I switched the knob to the OFF position and it kept going, had to unplug it from the wall to stop it. It started smoking from the base and produced an awful electrical burning smell. Hopefully it will be replaced under warranty.
Good – If we ever get the blade assembly separated from the glass pitcher, we will be happy with the blender. Best features for comparable blenders. Blade circulates items in the pitcher for great blended drinks, especially when crushing ice. We cannot unscrew the blade assembly from glass pitcher - it sticks readily.
Grrrrrrrrrrrr! – Have bought cheap $20 blenders in the past but decided to splurge on a 'decent' one. Thought this model looked pretty snazzy so grabbed it, it was the last one on the shelf and was missing the box and user manual ( do you really need one for a blender?!? )so I took it as is for a $20 discount and was assured it still came under warranty. used it a dozen or so times making smoothies and cocktails after blending a fruit smoothie drink I rinsed the jug with warm water CRACK, glass shattered. ( Awesome start to the morning, calling in late to work to fix up glass cuts to my hands...all I wanted was a fricken smoothie! ). Called into the shop I bought it from who contacted Sunbeam to see if the warranty would cover the broken jug, was told no it wasn't covered as the manual ( which I didn't get ) states not to put hot liquids into it? Wasn't happy so contacted Sunbeam myself and after some shocking customer service was told in no uncertain terms, they wouldn't replace the jug, offer any discount and couldn't even tell me where to purchase a replacement part. Will cost $60 to buy the replacement ( stumbled on this site when I was looking for the part and after reading this thread no I won't bother ). Pretty pissed off as my Mum has had Sunbeam appliances that have lasted her since the 70's. She still uses the retro orange blender she got for a wedding pressie. This is obviously just a [censored word removed] product and Sunbeam should accept responsibility for that. And their customer service is even [censored word removed]! Not usually a whinger, just sick of cheap service. Left a bad taste in my mouth...think i'll just get the cheapie one at K-mart! Looked snazzy. Crap glass jug and shockingly [censored word removed] warranty service.
