Safety hazard for us. Tripped the Power Safety so we got rid of it. Shorter cord than a Russell Hobbs, unable to see the water level, spits out water from spray nozzle when not pressed then runs inside the iron (Shorts it out), doesn't steam properly, steam adjustment nothing or too much. Only good thing was the glide on clothing. Show details

The worst iron I have used in over 50 years. Not a smooth glide, doesn't iron well. Makes a crackly sound and the cord is terrible. If I didn't dispose of the box I would've asked for a refund. Never again. Show details

Worst iron I have ever used – I bought this iron in a hurry one Saturday afternoon as I needed to iron a heap of shirts for a business trip. My previous iron (a different brand) had died earlier that day to the point where it was tripping the safety switch on our home meter board. I've used Sunbeam before and like some of their features, especially the separate power and… Read more

element lights, and the audible alarm. This one is a piece of rubbish and absolutely the worst iron I have ever bought. It worked perfectly for the first couple of months, and even on the lowest steam setting I was having to refill it after a single t-shirt. Now it refuses to produce any steam at all unless I use the boost button, which takes half an hour to iron one shirt. I've tried several different water sources from unfiltered tap water to laboratory-grade distilled water, and every steam setting from minimum to maximum. Nothing. Trying to iron my husband's good work clothes without steam is impossible. It also seems to stick to everything that isn't 100% natural fabric. I don't care about scratch-resistant soleplates when I can't iron anything other than cotton or wool, and even then it doesn't get the creases out because there's no steam. Avoid at all cost!!!

Very disappointed – Purchased this iron to replace my old sunbeam iron. It’s either too hot and sticks to everything or too cool and doesn’t iron properly. It either uses no water or I have to fill it up after a couple of items. I have tried different settings to no avail. All in all very disappointed. Show details

It's a Sunbeam with no safety switch, why not? – Hi Sunbeam, I disagree with your reply to Neat in this product review. I read that post and bought this iron on the basis of the Sunbeam answer, which says this iron has a cut off switch. I believe this answer is incorrect and arguably misleading under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010. The Verve 600 Ceraflow SRC6000 does not have a 'safety… Read more

off switch', it does not switch off after 30 seconds horizontally or 15 minutes vertically. I have tested it myself. I am very disappointed in sunbeam for not including this safety feature on this iron. My old cheaper Sunbeam iron had it. Now I'm too scared to let my sons use it when I'm not home, in case they leave it on and burn the house down. I'm also annoyed that I relied on the post by Sunbeam answering that it has a safety switch, which makes it an answer that is unreliable and can't be trusted.

This iron spits water on clothes – I have never had an iron that spits and dribbles water on clothes. I have only used my brand new iron twice, since purchasing from Harvey Norman. I will not be buying another Sunbeam iron. I cannot return it as didn’t keep the box! Extremely disappointed and will not be adding water in future. Show details

Total Rubbish – This iron is useless. Leaks water profusely when put on ANY steam setting. The only way to stop leaks is to use "dry ironing" setting. Show details

Cant even iron my cotton work shirt – This iron is very poor. Even on the hottest settings, max steam, it cant iron my cotton work shirt without wrinkles. My old iron (forget the brand) handled this kind of thing no problems - it got much hotter. Not recommended.

Does what it is meant to – Recent purchase to replace a 20 year old Sunbeam iron. Works well on cotton. Cord is a bit shorter than the old iron but still has plenty of length, no extension cord required. The water tank colour is dark blue, not easy to see the water level is when refilling. Dials for steam and temperature feel a bit cheap but other new irons are similar. Worth buying. Show details
