After Suncorp forced us over to My Card it's been nothing but terrible. When over the limit you can't instantly transfer money into the card, it's only via BPAY so your money sits in limbo for 3 days before it appears on the credit card. So you can't use the card for 3 days. And now they've just issued a notice today they are removing the… Read more

complimentary travel insurance from it in less than 2 months time. I've booked an overseas trip in October with it which I had coverage for. But apparently not now! How is this legal?

I haven't even checked if we're actually still getting Qantas points from it which was what we had with Suncorp.

All our home loans have been with Suncorp for 10 years. Will be moving banks due to this complete lack of honouring agreements and lack of customer service.

Suncorp abandons their Clear Options credit cards sends out a MyCard telling you to register the card. This is sent without any product information. No information available online either at suncorp cards, NAB or MyCard. Calling the card centre the agent said oh well you should know about it it's been all over the news. I finally got a supervisor… Read more

who just refused to send anything and said I should have it. I believe contravenes ASIC regulations and also has the potential to be deceptive and misleading because I don't know what I would be signing up to. Very very sketchy and arguably illegal.

After a year with this Suncorp credit card, I am at tipping point and just had to vent at possibly the worst ever finance product (service) I've ever had the misfortune to use. From consistently getting the spelling of name wrong, my birth date wrong, (no matter how many times I ring to get it updated, it slips back to the original wrong… Read more

information). Now I get a new MyCard (from NAB) I believe, but to activate it, I have to ring the number, get all the way through the automated system to the final step before it crashes - my 3rd attempt, now it has thrown me to customer service where I'm on hold again... The only reason I haven't binned this card is because I have paid an annual fee until December... Oh, I now get through to a customer service rep, but they can't activate my card (as I am the additional card holder) and it can't be done until my wife has first activated (noting that no where on the instructions does it tell me this) thanks for another 30 minutes of lost time... DO NOT EVER GET A CARD WITH SUNCORP, they are an insurance company and should never have got into banking, hopefully ANZ will do better

If it was worth taking this up with the ombudsman I would. Was charged an “international currency transfer” fee for a charge made in Australian dollars. This was double checked against my transaction record and the merchant. When I raised this with Suncorp I was told that the merchant is headquartered overseas and as such “their system”… Read more

automatically charges this fee. Despite pointing out that the charge was listed in Aussie dollars and previous charges with this merchant had not incurred a “currency transfer” fee they have refused to refund this charge! Dealing with an overseas call centre was also a nightmare but in this day and age no other bank will be any different. Have cancelled my cards and taking my business elsewhere!

Useless Bank – Worst company ever. They keep making your rewards worth less and less, what's the point in earning rewards if they value keeps going down. Interest free days has also been reduced. They let people change your internet banking password with just your name, address and dob even if they don't know your account balance or what accounts you have. Show details

Very poor disjointed application process – Very frustrating application process. Dealing with overseas citi.com call centres who kept asking for the same information repetitively. They also wanted private documents which i was reluctant to provide to unknown sources. Really not worth the bother. Show details

Be careful if you are scammed, Citibank will not refund money – Had $1000 scammed from my credit card, Citibank's response was simply "we cannot help you" that I had apparently authorised the transactions. I was on the phone to Suncorp / Citibank's fraud team advising that I had a scam call, whilst I was on the phone to the fraud team, 2 $500 transactions appeared, neither of which I authorised. VERY DISAPPOINTED – Will never use Suncorp or NAB for any banking needs. Closing all accounts after over 18years with them due to their lack of basic human decency and service. Hug fees, no loyalty, just a number. Show details

Totally dissatisfied!!!!! – Absolutely dissatisfied with Suncorp. Have been banking and using their insurances for over 30 years. Given my income and personal banking I have more than enough to cover any repayments on an application for a small credit card amount. I was just trying to get a credit rating based on an application for a credit card that was refused. Bye bye Suncorp. I will be looking at other banks for both insurance and banking Show details

Feels like a scam – No Qantas points have been credited yet. My details are all matching my frequent flyer account, but they say Qantas refused the points... They handball their problem to me "you call frequent flyer" - which of course is still in the jungle of "customer service" "we will take care of it asap" [Content Removed]. They did not record a balance transfer… Read more

after over one month, calling me from the collection team, and after finally updating their balances, I get another call from the collection team for late fees!!! Really, I should charge them for late fees and waste of my time... Oh, I also cannot access my online banking because they have an eternal "technical issue" Never again

Terrible system and false advertising – Overall using this card oversea no issue, payment accept BPAY quite easy. while and then I decided to contact customer service---their response was I applied for clear option credit card and opt for qantas point therefore it became ineligible to have this offer. Their website it is deceitful and misleading , I encourage anyone who consider to apply this card to reconsider https://www.suncorp.com.au/banking/credit-cards/platinum-qantas.html

Lodge a complaint and still not receive any feedback for 2 weeks. Best to avoid this poor product.

Not with the times ! – I gave up on my wallet a few years back and have been using my phone. This included using a competitors credit card which was very similar. Today I received my Clear Options credit card and find out it's not compatible with Google pay. Back to the old credit card I go!

Don't bother unless you are already a Suncorp bank customer – Annual fee is modest compared to some other credit cards, however the rewards are quite mediocre these days and what you can do with them is now very limited. I have one of these cards because I have a mortgage with Suncorp and my annual fee has been waived. Otherwise I wouldn't bother with it. Other than that, I haven't had any issues with them.… Read more

Be aware though that Citibank manages these cards now, not Suncorp. So if you call Suncorp about your credit cards, they will redirect you to a Citibank line.

The upfront promotions are a scam – I applied for the Suncorp platinum with a promotion offer of 130000 bonus points if a minimum spend is achieved. On the application form it asks which rewards program you would prefer- I paid to participate in QANTAS assuming that like with purchases you would get the promotion rewards points converted to Qantas points of some form. Sadly you get… Read more

Very poor experience - would not use Suncorp based on this experience – Extremely poor user experience, high levels of administration, weren't allowed to access internet banking for the supplementary cardholder due to an internal Suncorp error, highly delayed transaction information, clunky online user experience, multiple administrative delays up-front on application. Customer Call Centre also led to a terrible experience (19/10/21 11:35). Would not use Suncorp again. Show details

No Google Pay or Apple Pay – Card works but Suncorp are way behind the times with technology. No Google Pay or Apple Pay. You can't even see the card in the great Suncorp App. You have to download another crappy banking App to see your balance. I'm going to get another credit card. Show details

never had the issues with other credit cards – Have used credit card for more than 20 years and never had the same problems as Suncorp credit card. Beware this card is actually Citi NOT Suncorp – BEWARE - This is actually citi in disguise - Citi has poor customer service, they rely on a computer algorithm to determine credit limit. Poor communication. Lengthy delays and no real accountability or answers. They provide generic email correspondence. Sad that Suncorp a company which has generally high levels of customer service would rely on… Read more

works fine 99% of the time – It works fine 99% of the time as any other cards do. However, as far as I know, beware Suncorp's credit card is actually issued and managed by Citibank, so when you have problem or request, there might be delay, and of course Citibank in background has no motivation to try to make Suncorp's customer happy, for example Suncorp's own debit card has… Read more

Great product with nice perks! – My husband and I both have a Suncorp Clear Options Credit Card and both love it. actually get charged any interest. Early this year we had enough points each to book a return trip to regional Australia (2 connecting flights each way) to surprise my in laws with the news that they will be first time grandparents. Knowing that this trip didn't cost us anything definitely made it more enjoyable! Highly recommend this credit card.

The only negative I will add is that in Melbourne there are extremely few branches of Suncorp if you want to update your details which cannot be completed online, the customer service is not the greatest. This is a huge inconvenience as we either need to go into the CBD during working hours or travel 40 minutes to the closest branch, there is less than a hand full of branches in Victoria. When we have gone into the branch to update details such as a surname due to marriage it was not completed correctly resulting in a second visit to the CBD (which is a half day off work exercise) and 2 phone calls later with 2 credit cards being re-issued before the correct name was updated on the system and credit card it's self. Customer Service needs improvement. But online accounting and the product it's self is great.

Basic rewards program, no real benefits – This card has a simple rewards program with introductory bonus is you spend $1500/mth for 6mth ... however other benefits are very limited. restricted with such requirements as your full flight costs (No use of points & pay) must be used to even qualify, and then the benefits are limited. Exchange rate fees are large at 3%. There is no Google pay, but they offer Samsung pay. Would I recommend it. No ... Essentially there are better options out there, if this wasn't something I got as part of my mortgage I wouldn't have it. To be honest I'm thinking of closing it.
