Builder Beware..... this has to be the most horrendous company i have ever dealt with. up front they were great, very helpful until the contract was signed and the deposit was paid. After that, everything incurred an amendment and a cost, the staff were nothing but rude and unhelpful, whilst the home was in construction very little information was… Read more
provided and update were like asking for a kidney. upon completion. home was not cleaned to any kind of standard and the hand over was pathetic and heartbreaking. the quality of the home was well below any expectation, walls not straight, plumbing not correct, Showers flooding bathroom in first week, toilets blocking up, trash quality paint. media room door would scratch and scape when opened and closed.
Every time we had them back to fix an issue, they would send a handyman so completely useless i wouldn't let him feed my chooks. this just compounded to our frustration, to the point i refused to have them attend and butcher our home ant further, we wiped our hands of the disaster and fixed the issue at our own expense... this was back in 2021. so why the review now, well after this week's round of storms there was significant damage to the roof of our home (Mother Nature is a wench). but...... after having a roofing person come to inspect, they informed us that the battens in the roof were not full length to the gutter, and the last couple of screws in the iron were not fixed to anything.... no wonder the Roof was damaged.
Please please don't give these people a chance to ruin your expectations of building a beautiful home, its only covered in regret and frustration.
I would give this company less then a 1 star rating if it was possible, their customer service is appalling, 3 years and counting to have issues fixed that was raised in the initial final inspection. That did send a very low grade handy man to make some repairs, which has been done to a standard I would expect from a child. To say we are… Read more
disappointed with the final product is an understatement , if you are thinking of building with this company please understand that they have little regard for you once they have your money. Don’t do it, you will regret it.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! WARNING. They are also SV Homes. Years later still dealing with QBCC and insurance after they got a failure to rectify from QBCC. Trapped in this nightmare, it's falling apart more each day. From start to finish the communication is terrible and the quality of work is the same. They extracted an extra $58,000 on top of the… Read more
signed contract cost to cover their material expenses and still used poor quality supplies and performed dodgy work, as verified by QBCC. The walls aren't even straight, worst paint and plaster you will ever see.
Dodgy plumbing, all floorboards are lifting, stormwater hooked up incorrectly and floods the yard every time it rains. The list is endless and still growing. Forced an internal review through QBCC rather than owning up and just fixing their poor work.... and they still failed to do the work.
Cheap and nasty, product does not represent the price. They will sell you the dream and give you a disaster. Contract signed 2020, build "completed" in 2023 and in 2025 still trying to get it finished so it can be sold and get far away from this dump. This was meant to be my first home, unfortunately I would rather be at work than look at the poor job in every room. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Sold by Dean Ind.

Don't - I did and regret it – I am 12 months living in my new build and the more I look the more issues I see. I am embarrassed of the inside finishes. Nails sticking out of the frames but apparently that is fine according to the building code. Back splash in kitchen as been redone twice and still needs to be redone but the employee who came and did the defect list closed it… Read more
without even finishing it. Patio falls to the door not away from the door as it should. Hole in the mortar for vermin to get into the walls. Yard was not levelled so it slopes in all directions and we will need to spend money on fixing this. We had to pay for a retaining wall that was required because Sunvista was not going to do it as no one come and look at the block before doing the plans. I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt no, don't make my mistake. Communication is lacking, this is my first home and I am meant to chase them up on everything and know what to look for. The photos are after the defect list was 'completed'.
Home sweet home – After having built three homes this product was a pleasant and stress free experience from sales and design to the completion of the 12 month warranty. As a professional business Sunvista Homes has exceeded my expectations. I wish the people at Sunvista Homes success in the future. Warwick in Griffin. Show details

A wonderful experience – Without a doubt, Sunvista Homes have been a pleasure to deal with. High quality tradesmen, great communication from all levels of the company and they have made the process really enjoyable. Wr have been kept constantly updated on the process and we can not fault this company and the level of workmanship provided. Show details

Worst experience ever – Do yourself a favour and don't use this company. Workers are rude and arrogant and don't take responsibility for defective or damaged goods, they blamed me for scratching my own windows and apparently Ajax floor cleaner is a harsh chemical that scratches the chrome plating on drain grates. Slab was done wrong, bigger slab for hotwater rather then… Read more
aircon, stove wired up for all electric when it's a gas cook top so they had to run a natural gas line, house design was wrong, our steps went through where our pantry was meant to, Hot water piping where aircon unit was damaged window frames, dodgy paint work, massive dent in the side of our stove, forget to put a window in our ensuite until I mentioned it, come to think of it I'm the one who picked up all the work that wasn't correct, so much for the site supervisor or construction manager. They refuse to answer my emails and only email my partner and only fix what they want to fix. ACA would love to hear about this shonky company.

appalling in all facets of our first home build. I have heard multiple similar experiences from different clients and investors.
Staff are rude and arrogant. Foreman said in the FIRST meeting that we are "expecting a rolls royce when you're on a volkswagon budget" "we have to finish this build and move onto the next". *1EXAMPLE* We have had face to face yelling fights with the manager and foreman and it left my partner in tears.
Slab in the lounge had a hump/divet in it. Floor was layed. My inspector noticed it. This caused delays because the hump had to be grinded out.Skirtings in lounge were bowed in and their idea of a fix was to pack it in with silicon. Garage skirting was bowed out. Their idea of a fix was to plane off the bow
They tried to charge us an extra $500.00 to have a "kerb cut" from the driveway. This was already part of the contract and even though they tried to charge us extra we didnt give in and they finally accepted that they were in the wrong.
I have had discussions with sub contractors who complain that they are on tight constraints and the materials supplied are of poor quality.
Roofing - SMART METAL ROOFING Multiple roof leaks. 06.07.2019. Roof is starting to rust at less then 1 year old. Burrs left on the roof. Ridges didnt line up, guttering not square and incorrect fall. Lobster tails not pop riveted. Screws missing seals.
Tiling - TONY GLOVER TILING Pin holes in grout - bathroom/kitchen. Grout crumbling away from below shower head. Tiles have rough edges both in showers and kitchen. Did not file the edges for tiles in the shower calling the tiles that the builder supplied as "cheap" and "thats the best they can do"
Floors -STYLE FLOORING XTRA LAWNTON Since before 29.09.2018 vinyl planks were peeling throughout the house. 10.07.2019 planks are still an issue. Planks were lifting and bubbling. It has taken this company 10+ visits to fix this issue. They left dents and scratches in the rooms where they were working.
Certifier - APEX CC Frame stage was certified only to have my own inspector defect the entire frame and sent the plasterers and brickies home. Walls had to be replaced. This certifier is conveniently across the road from the builder.
Landscaping Signed a front garden layout with over 45 plants and a number of types. We got 17 plants and only 4 varieties. Grass was dead in areas. Builder charged $800.00 for two 1.8m plants and promised us good plants. We got given two diseased ridden $20.00 plants that have since died.
Builders Clean Nothing was cleaned by a professional cleaner. Toilets were disgusting. Dirt and debris under door and window tracks. Rubbish and mud left in the ceiling.
The above is the truth and has not been exaggerated AT ALL. Some issues have been fixed, however it was just like getting a tooth pulled. They try to get one over with every single circumstance.
There is NOTHING the Builder can say to combat any of the above. Because this is EXACTLY what our building experience was like and how it still is nearly a year after. They claim they have never shyed away from fixing their mistakes but yet they only "fix" them when they get caught out and what gets fixed is an even greater shortcut. No one has replied to my email in months. I always cc the directors in but it seems they dont care about their own family run business.
40+ hours of annual leave was taken to deal with this builder. Thousands of dollars spent on a reliable inspector to inspect each stage because this builder cannot be trusted. Refer to the review below by Stop Renting Today.
