SUPREME GETAWAY – If your looking for a off-road pop top caravan that is totally practical and very strongly capable to survive and enjoy wherever your 4x4 vehicle can drive. They are built to last with aussie made materials. Made with spanners not chopsticks. Great van that won't break the bank and will place you well in the vaning fertility for a fraction of the… Read more

cost compared to many that have invested 60k ++. For me I'm in the the game for confident off-road and off grid travelling or comfortable caravan parks.

Supreme Getaway not up to scratch – WE purchase our Supreme Getaway brand new from Supreme Caravans in Melbourne. WE loved the layout but not the build. WE have over two A4 pages of poor build or wear problems. Faulty plug fittings for lights and breaking system, fridge lock that did not lock, smoke alarm that continually went off, exhaust fan that did not work, awning lock fell… Read more

apart, pneumatic roof lifting bars broke away from the roof, bottom tool box lets in water, all cupboards and wood work held together with staples, cupboard door locks do not close, one support legs did not lock into the drive position and fell apart whilst driving, brake lines loosely fitted and exposed to being pulled off the van, front water tank came loose and almost fell off whilst driving, battery placed in a position that was difficult to take out and put back into position, fridge broke away from the small holding screws and landed in the walk way, radio antenna was not fitted correctly and broke off, on the only real off road trip the chassis split on both sides and was potentially extremely dangerous, the caravan wiring from the Anderson plus stopped working, the dividing panel between the dinning seat and bed came loose because it was only held together with staples and silicon, the water pump made a great deal of noise, one wheel was out of alignment from day one and scrubbed out several tyres and the amount of silicon used was over the top . We took the van back to Supreme to be repaired during the warranty period and they had the van for a week and could not have been more helpful but when we took the van away not long after being repaired most of the original problems remerged. Two fellow travellers did a temporary repair job during our travels and by the time we got home warranty had run out and Supreme did not want to know us. We have subsequently repaired the van at either our local RV centre, truck wheel alignment specialist, local carpenter, radio technician and auto electrician. We have spent many thousands of dollars doing what Supreme should have done in the first place. The design and layout of our Supreme Getaway is great but the build quality and some of the third party components leave a lot to be desired.

Supreme Getaway Offroader 2003 19ft – I purchased a used Supreme Getaway Offroader in 2015. Mine is a 2003 19ft with external shower. As far as the quality of the build of the Supreme Getaway Offroader is concerned, it is absolutely Top class! These vans are as close as a van gets to being bulletproof. My unbiased opinion is that they are somewhat underrated, and by that I… Read more

refer to the fact that they are not given the praise that they deserve. It seems that other brand names of off-road caravan that are affiliated with remote destinations (ie: Nullabor, Bushtracker etc) get greater recognition as "true offroaders" than that of the Supreme Getaway. Don't get me wrong, the Nullabor and Bushtracker are also very respectable and high quality off road caravans, but the Supreme Getaway Offroader is without a doubt on par with those and come at half the cost.

After 3 years of using my Supreme Getaway Offroader van, I thought it about time i take a few minutes to give them a massive plug.

The Getaway Offroader is a cracking van!! There was obviously a significant amount of thought that went into its design, and furthermore the quality of workmanship that Supreme have delivered in these vans is 2nd to none. They really are a class act.

I believe they would be as good an offroader as one could possibly wish for. They are to put it simply "Built to Last" - and furthermore they do not come with a false self promoted "offroader" tag - they are the real deal!

If you are chasing a high quality off road van to get well off the grid - these vans will not let you down. I have a saying that "the limitations of the Supreme Getaway Offroader is determined by what is towing it" - and that is a fact!

Cheers

Excellent – No need to leave the van somewhere while you go off down the offbeaten track. This is a great van if you wish to travel everywhere and have comfortable living conditions. Strong and robust with great height clearance. We towed with Pajero and never had a problem. We have owned our Getaway for 5 years . It was 5 years old when we purchased and we… Read more

have done over 100,000 klms in this van. Never had a problem with anything mechanical. Will travel over any terrain like a dream. Hinges on glass cooktop have come unglued and the metal hinges have cracked twice and been replaced. Also door lock has been replaced twice due to failure

Excellent – This van suits our needs perfectly. It is solid, well fitted out and tows well, however with a solid van comes weight and an adequate tow vehicle is a must. In some tight offroad situations our Prado knows it's on the back. This van will last us many years and if we replace it, at this stage I cannot imagine with what. Maybe the quality control… Read more

has slipped in the newer vans, like all, but I'd recommend a getaway like mine to anyone looking for a RV to take offroad ,and bring back in tack, that offers much more comfort than a camper trailer. Purchased our 14 footer secondhand. 1998 build. Single beds which was our preference enabling more change room and not clambering over each other. Built solidly as an offroader should. Most of our use has been offroad, not just off blacktop, real offroad, with no problems at all. The spare tyre location with the rear entry van is the weakest link, will bottom out on deep creek crossings. Tows great on all surfaces, corrigations especially. The dust proofing is exceptional. The limited food prep area is adequate and suprisingly functionable. I dont dislike anything about the getaway, it is heavy and with this weight, I may encounter problems if in soft sand.

Excellent – One thing that appears to be common with all manufacturers, quality control, in the Getaways case it appears that I, the consumer, was pretty much it. However, Supreme were very happy to honor the warranty and repair the few small issues that we found without any problems. Good, and friendly after market service, with a good quality caravan, gee!… Read more

it couldn't have been any easier. I like the steel tandem trailer as the base for my 16.5ft Getaway, makes it a solid, but heavy caravan. Internal fittings are good quality, and everything worked as it should. Minor issues are, the overuse of silicon, great globs of it everywhere, the so called water tank protection, tissue thin metal sheet, dont like its chances of surival off road, and the unattached, exposed electric brake cabling

that if it snags a stick etc, could and did, scrap along the road.
