Swytch

good product, hopefully you don't need support or a non-standard question answered – Unlike the previous reviewer, my experience has been on-the-whole good. Early days though, as the electric conversion hasn't been tested for more than a kilometer. The product is well engineered, bearing in mind they are trying to adapt it to a wide range of bikes. My main/ only gripe, so far, has been my attempt at getting tech support, which has been woeful - getting an email reply 3 times, apparently, from a (useless) AI/ chatbot rather than a knowledgeable human.
The packaging was amazing - the best I've seen. Clearly Swytch don't want any damage in transit. Fitting the components to a new model folding Brompton bike - C-line Explore. The additional e-ssistance is quite good, even the lowest power range. Having a battery that is within regulations for airline hand luggage is well considered. Some product aspects could do with more thought, or more options to cover a wider range of bike dimensions/ geometry provided, but it is just really annoying to know your carefully worded email, with photos, text, has been fed into some AI & generic, irrelevant FAQ links & videos sent back to you. Twice.
I couldn't figure out the purpose of one part. It's not in the manual. I took a photo & provided dimensions. The AI simply asked for "more details". Twice.
As another follow-up with real-world experience - I bought 3 of the 90Wh batteries which can be carried as plane hand luggage. We cycled in France for 7 weeks with varying distances from 50 to 90km and ascents up to 800m. We set the power level to 1 (lowest) and speed cutout to 12km/h (low) to minimize battery usage. Generally no more than 2 batteries were needed & on the toughest days just started using the 3rd battery. Good result IMO. Performed perfectly.
Great Advertising, but after 4 months, no delivery – This eBike conversion kit looks great in the ads. But after after 4 months I'm yet to receive it. I put myself on a wait list around June 2022, and in September 2022 I finally got the email announcing a preorder launch date. By pre ordering, you save around 50%. The saving is misleading, because you pay extra to have it delivered sooner. All up it cost me about AU$1,150. The adds led me to believe I could get it for around AU$800.
I paid for a December 2022 delivery. December delivery was important, because I wanted the bike to use over Christmas. By early December I hadn't received any communication from Swytch, apart from the initial vague order confirmed email, and an update email in November where I confirmed parts and paid the final balance. Time went by, and the order tracker is shocking and appears fake (nothing like you get from DHL or FedEx for international shipments - for comparison the brilliant shipping tracking you get from Canyon when I order a bike there). I sent Swytch a support request in early December to find out where my kit was, Two days later I received the email "In this specific case, we had booked your order onto a container but had been 'bumped' due to a large order from a bigger company taking the space". That's nice I thought, they know exactly what's happening with the shipment.
December came and went, so I contacted Swytch again. This time I was told that I would get a local Australian tracking number no later than 13 Jan.
13 Jan came and went. Then on 17 Jan I got the email that exposed the scam.
The email read... All orders have been locked! Thank you again for completing your order - SW-XXXXXX. All orders are now locked and your kit specifications have been passed on to our manufacturing team.
This tells me that my order wasn't shipped at all and I'm just being led along on the lie.
I've tried to contact Swytch 3 times since then, and I haven't received any response, part from a single email from [Name Removed] (Head Of Customer Service at Swytch Bike), saying that "this is a quick message to let you know that we are experiencing a larger than expected influx of tickets and we won't be able to get to your ticket as quickly as we would like."

As a follow-up I wanted to buy a 26" front e-hub/ wheel. No other parts. But impossible! I could get a new complete "kit" with that wheel but not just this one part. Emails are only replied by AI. It's hopeless dealing with this company; maybe there are no humans there, just run by AI. After my initial review 4 months ago I've changed the #stars from 4 down to 2 out of frustration.
