I also got a quote at Bonnyrigg Mechanical and I was not charged for the quote. I have never been charged for a quote. I already knew I had a leak, I wasn’t going to pay $270 just to be told you have a leak!!! In any professional business you would be informed that the quote is not free so you choose whether to get a quote with them or not. They would then inform you on the hourly rate for quote ect. These guys expect you to know their rates! Not kidding! Nothing is mentioned until you pick up the car and he has your keys at the end of the day. Then the most unbelievable part is you don’t even get the quote you went in for. No way that is legal. I will do a video on TikTok to show you from the recordings and inform people about this business. I want to take to A Current Affair, people who have had issues similar should contact and we don’t deserve to be treated like this. I have gone to Fair Trading. He just told me it took 1.5 h to do quote and that’s what the $270 is for after picking up car. No other details or itemised invoice or anything when picking up car. I don’t believe they were aware I have 2 cameras in the car recording continuously. I couldn’t question anything until I inspected the videos that were recorded. It’s all recorded, I caught them in a few lies. Everything is timestamped. The part that has made me extremely upset is that they finished inspecting by 2pm and I rang at 3.20pm on whether my car was ready for pick up as I left it at midday, but was told it’s not ready they are still inspecting. The recording shows my bonnet is down after 2pm and stays down until I pick up at 4.20pm. They were working on car next to mine after 2pm, yet would not allow me to pick up my car until after 4.20pm. They didn’t contact me until 4.10pm and they close 4.30pm. They seem to value their own time but not the customers. I don’t trust this [Content Removed] at all. You could be charged anything, be ready for surprises. Very upsetting experience and a waste of time and money. Do yourself a favour and stay clear of here!
