Sydney Kitchens – Are these guys still in business as I can't track them down to do a kitchen update?
Good company gone bad – We had a kitchen designed and installed by Sydney Kitchens a decade ago. We were very happy with the result and so when we decided to expand the kitchen we contacted the company again. Sadly, it's not the same organisation. It took multiple emails and calls to get a response. Eventually a designer visited our home and measured etc and said he… Read more
would get a quote to us quickly. That was months ago. After five calls to check the reasons for the delay , and being told each time someone would get back to us that day, no one has ever replied. We have given up. A company that is unable to return phone calls after repeatedly promising to do can't be trusted with an actual job.
Warrenty not honoured – We had a wonderful kitchen installed in 2014. The service and attention to detail was to a high standard. In May 2020 we noticed one of the kitchen shelves was coming loose due a little fault with one of the special Sydney Kitchens fasteners. I sent photos of the problem and was assured by receptionist we were still under warranty and someone… Read more
would be out to fix the problem shortly and in the meantime remove everything from the shelf. After 2 weeks I rang again and was assured someone would be in contact by the end of the following week. After two months of nothing happening after making polite requests and leaving texts, I was told to deal with ‘Steve’ directly. I have left 3 polite messages requesting he ring me back but each message has been ignored. It is embarrassing and upsetting to keep going for almost 3 months- it’s not much to ask for common courtesy reply and a date for repair to a simple problem.
Delivered my dream kitchen – Very professional team from the first contact until completion. We absolutely love the quality of workmanship thats been put into our new kitchen. High quality materials and good designs. I would highly recommend them.
Extremely happy! – They were very professional in how they managed our plans and met our needs. Very happy with the service. Very happy with work completed. The kitchen is beautiful and we are very pleased with the final outcome. I recommend this company highly.
Finally . A Company which puts people before profit – The team at SK were fantastic. They were very professional in how they managed our plans and met our needs. Jared’s plans were spot on with what we were envisaging. The process through to installation with the installation team was smooth. Everything was precise and detailed to an extremely high standard. All of this contributed to an extremely enjoyable Kitchen.
Poor experience and poor execution – This was our first experience of renovating / updating a property and what an eye opening experience it was. I can only thank them for what I have learnt. After our experience, by all means use Sydney Kitchens if; If you want to arrive home to find your place left open because contractors have failed to lock up when leaving. If you want a… Read more
contractor to walk through your front door without saying hello, on day 3, go straight to your toilet and come out 10 mins later asking how is your daughter? This was a sickening as my daughter is five.
If you want to have to chase sub-contractors to come back and re-do work that should of been done properly the first time or picked up by the site manager.
If you want to use a company that requires you to pay in full before works commenced. Because their idea of delivered, is the cabinetry on a pallet waiting to be delivered.
If you like arguing and being threatened by trades people for payment, after they have tried to invoice / double dip for works all ready paid for under the original contract.
If you want the LED strip lights to fall out of place within the first week of installation.
If you want the paint to have worn off the cabinetry with in a month of normal use because it has been sprayed on so thin.
If you do not want cabinetry edges to be evenly sanded and with consistent edges.
If you want water hammer because pipework has not been saddled correctly during installation. Pipework is now inaccessible so I guess we need to live with it now.
If you want the stove top to be positioned on an angle so it does not sit parallel with the Edge or the bench. If you want to spend $30K - $40K and come home ever day questioning your decision..
We gave the go ahead to Sydney Kitchens after being somewhat charmed during the design phase by Adam and still while under the belief that paying a bit more would lead to better quality and better management. How wrong we were.
Once your money is paid you are on your own and they will hang you out to dry given the chance. After this experience I can relate to the other reviews read about Sydney Kitchens. Hindsight being what it is I wish I had of taken more notice of the reviews prior to signing up. Most people are time poor so you can appreciate it when people take the time to write a review As a potential warning to others.
The design is the only aspect of the project that has come close to meeting expectations. (After multiple re-works additional costs, but the execution was poor and the experience terrible and so what sickening.
in summary BY ALL MEANS USE SYDNEY KITCHENS if you value ;
Poor execution Poor management of trades Zero concern for high standards because sub - contractors are to busy running off to the next job leading to poor workmanship.
Beautiful new kitchen – Thank you so much Sydney kitchens for our beautiful bright new kitchen. Everything is so shiny and new. I cannot thank Adam the designer enough. Our kitchen needed wall removal and this was never a problem for Sydney kitchens. Adam put up with all our calls and emails and always answered and was helpful. All the trades were friendly and knew what… Read more
they were doing. Everyone who comes over always comment on how lovely the kitchen is. We are just so so so happy with it. A very big thank you.
My dream Kitchen! – From beginning to end, my kitchen project was a pleasure. From early meetings with the designer, they met my wants and needs in a beautiful plan. I was provided a schedule of trades, and every one was met and on time. I received calls the day before to confirm times and was impressed with their punctuality. My fit out was immaculate, and when… Read more
the installer was fitting things, he thought a different cupboard front would make more practical sense. He arranged it to be altered without a fuss. Every trade who came, worked on it as though it was their own. Their care and attention to detail was impeccable.
At every stage, the team at Sydney Kitchens would check in with me to ensure I was happy with my end product.
I cannot recommend them highly enough! I have waited 20 years for a kitchen like this, and Sydney Kitchens delivered!
Poor followuo – My kitchen installation last year was 5 months late in completion. Factory problems led to one set of cupboard doors having to be manufactured three times. Errors in installation with multiple installers involved. I had hoped that with a change of management this year we would have been able to get integrated doors for our new fridge. Multiple… Read more
phone calls and emails have not delivered even a quote for the job. I’m told that there are 6 internal emails within the company, to the operations section regarding my request. Still no reply. They have not replied to my emails. This has now been going on for three months. It appears that the new operation is even worse than the previous one. Extremely disappointed!!!
No Concept Of Measure Twice And Cut Once – Great design service, atrocious execution. No onsite management or co-ordination of sub-contractors led to poor workmanship and delays. Zero concern for high standards. If you want a European kitchen, go elsewhere. If you want a Freedom kitchen and don't want to pay a Premium, go to Freedom.

Poor management and service, gangster like attitude for money – BEWARE POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS! This company promises big things from day 1, and then changes their words soon. They put the fault upon the customers. This year April, I approached this company, and i was offered best quality service. After the work started, i realised what mistake i did by paying my hard earned money to them. They made extensive… Read more
delays, gave lame excuses, made excessive pressure to pay installments even though the work for that stage hasnt been done.
The contract they make with customers is not specific and open to interpretations, which they do acording to the circumstance, and understanding the vulnerability of customers....
I hope the fair trading catches them some day.

Excellent service and great product – I am extremely pleased with my new kitchen. Right from the outset, the staff were friendly and courteous - never asking for money upfront to provide a customised design. This is perhaps a unique feature of this company, and was much appreciated. They employ very skilled tradesmen, and their project manager was efficient and available from day one.… Read more
The kitchen is beautiful and we are very pleased with the final outcome. I recommend this company highly.

5 Star Performance – From our first brief wander through the Sydney Kitchens showroom in Willoughby we have been impressed by the excellent standard of their product and personnel. After Fred provided invaluable assistance in turning our initial thoughts into a professional plan, Steve, the (relatively new) owner of Sydney Kitchens visited our apartment and undertook… Read more
a detailed consultation and 'check measure' to ensure that we were satisfied with the design. We were then provided with a Schedule for all the 'trades' and a completion date which were all met. We have been delighted by the "day before" communications and the fact that all of the tradesmen understood and complied with the restrictions of working in an apartment building in the middle of the Sydney CBD. Sydney Kitchens 'site team' starting with the CT Demolitions team and progressing through Brendan (plumber), Steve (electrician), Kori (delivery), Wayne and Perry (cabinet installation), George (renderer), Joe (plasterer), the Rolling Stone benchtop team and Alan and Mitch from Polytech Glass provided exceptional workmanship and took care to protect surrounding areas before they started and leave our apartment and the common areas clean after they had finished. The site crew was ably supported by Vanessa and the operations department in 'head office'.
We have no hesitation in recommending Sydney Kitchens to anyone looking for a new kitchen. While it may be possible to find a cheaper price, from our experience, we doubt you will get a better product or better value.
Our Shiny New Kitchen from Sydney Kitchens is Beautiful and we love it! – Once our kitchen was started, they stuck to the schedule, which made our life easier, and were professional at all times. So flexible and easy to deal with. A fantastic product which exceeded our expectations. Very modern and practical.
Great kitchen from Sydney Kitchens – Sydney Kitchens understood our brief and delivered a wonderful kitchen. From design to installation we couldn't be happier. Every step was well planned, on-time, with good advice and review of the key installation. Great team from Sydney Kitchens.
Couldn't be happier with Sydney Kitchens! – We are absolutely thrilled with our new Sydney Kitchen. 25 years ago we used Sydney Kitchens and decided to go with them again. New owner, Steve assured us that we would be completely happy with our second kitchen and we were not disappointed. From the design to the finished product, we have no complaints at all and would encourage potential… Read more
clients to use their services. The tradesmen were reliable, friendly and efficient. The job came in on time as scheduled and we could not be happier with the finished result. Thank you Sydney Kitchens.
We love our new kitchen – Our kitchen project was much delayed as a result of an accident to my wife and even an elevator being out of service in our apartment building. All aspects of the project went well and where the inevitable small problems arose they were always attended to quickly and without any queries. The kitchen was very well designed with features that are… Read more
both aesthetically and practically very pleasing - for example the amazing kick board drawers and a late change to the drawers in our pantry because Steve believed that those we had chosen were inferior. He substituted superior drawers at no extra cost. One problem that arose was accidental damage to common property caused by a subcontractor. When it proved difficult to resolve this directly I spoke to SK and the problem disappeared in no time at all.The tradesmen were all pleasant to have on our property and worked skilfully and efficiently. We couldn't be happier with the service and the result!
Sydney Kitchens were fabulous! – We recently (February 2017) engaged Sydney Kitchens to renovate our kitchen. Form the initial touch point of visiting the showroom through to the various stages of design, selection, delivery and implementation they were fabulous to deal with. They guided, didn't push, challenged but didn't dictate and consulted and collaborated with no… Read more
demanding. They provided a time line which was adhered to and communicated with us throughout the entire process. We are delighted with the results and would not hesitate recommending them to anyone wanting a professional and stunning outcome! we received a 7 year guarantee upon completion.
Couldn't be happier – I couldn't be happier with my new kitchen! I've been planning this project for nearly two years and when it finally came down to the kitchen I did my due diligence and shopped around. Like when you buy I car I hate the pushy sales approach and after going up and down the strip I found Sydney kitchen the most homely showroom with wonderful… Read more

I got 2 more "quotes" after seeing Sydney just to make sure I wasn't being charged a ridiculous amount. The other quotes (one Came in slightly cheaper but I got the pushy car sales approach and that turned me off) and the other quote was pretty much the same as Sydney kitchens. I decided on Sydney kitchens as they we lovely and professional in every step of the process.
It's been 3 weeks since my kitchen was installed and I'm calling every Friend I know asking them to come for dinner so I can finally show off.
I can't thank Steve and his team at Sydney kitchens enough. I will 100% pass your name onto any family or friends who embark on a kitchen renovation as I'm sure if this is the quality and professionalism every receives they will be thrilled (and I'll get invited for dinner so they can show off).
Thank you again Riley
November 10th 2017 Update: love it
We couldn’t fault our experience with Sydney kitchens. From design stage with Kate to the professional manner in which the tradies did their work. We wanted to open the kitchen up so I could see the family in the lounge room instead of being stuck in a box. After a couple meetings I got exactly what I was looking for! I did have a scratched door on arrival but that was quickly fixed and sent back to the factory for repairs.
Highly recommend Sydney kitchens and I will let people know how impressed it am. Thankyou Sydney kitchens
If you are thinking of using Sydney Kitchens you MUST read this first! – I want to talk about what happens if anything goes wrong with a Sydney Kitchen after you have made your final payment. All the customer service and all the promises go out the window and these people do not want to know you. They will not return your phone calls or answer your e-mails, they will completely ignore you and hope you simply go away. I… Read more
know this is long winded but if you can read this all the way to the bottom it might just save you from making a really big mistake. We installed a Sydney Kitchens kitchen a few years ago under the belief we were paying extra for better quality which gave us piece of mind that we were making an intelligent investment. We had issues from the start. What was supposed to be an 8 week project took 5 months to complete and we were left without a functional kitchen for 10 weeks. During the installation one of the installers dropped a hammer on our brand new tiled floor and broke one of the tiles. We were told the tiler, who was supplied by Sydney Kitchens, would come back at the end of the project and replace the tile however he refused to come back to fix the tile as he said it wasn't worth his effort to return for just one tile. When we told Sydney Kitchens he was refusing to return they said that is not their problem and we needed to sort it out with the tiler ourselves even though he had been supplied by them. The broken tile is still on the floor as a bitter reminder to do better research next time before handing over our hard earned money to unscrupulous companies like Sydney Kitchens. Can you imagine how we felt just having installed a 30 thousand dollar kitchen only to have the tiled floor broken before it was even completed. It was heartbreaking and Sydney Kitchens simply didn't care. Recently I arrived home to find the overhead cupboards were starting to fall apart and a fixed panel and one of the doors had fallen off onto the bench chipping the corner of our glass induction cook top. The combined weight of the panel and the door is 8kgs and all this weight had been screwed to the cupboard carcase with three little plastic brackets which had all torn apart as they were not strong enough to hold all that weight in place. We had a local tradesman take a look at the cupboard and he told us that Sydney Kitchens should never have used those plastic brackets to hold up so much weight as they were guaranteed to fail. He told us that in his opinion the minimum requirement to hold so much weight in place would be 4 metal brackets. I have since gone a purchased 4 metal brackets at a total cost of $7.04 that is all that was needed in the first place. I have phoned Sydney Kitchen's multiple times and I have sent photos and I have e-mailed them and yet they have refused to return my calls. I am quite happy to pay to have somebody come and reattach my panels and given I have already bought the brackets I suspect it is only a 30 minute job. I am not very handy otherwise I would try to do it myself. I am not abusive and I have been very pleasant in my communications and I even offered to write a great review if they came and helped me out and yet I get nothing but silence. So now I have a broken cupboard, a broken tile and a broken glass cooktop and Sydney Kitchens couldn't care less. Once your money is paid you are on your own. I laugh when I read the testimonials on Sydney Kitchens website. Speak to all of those people in 5 years when their kitchens are falling apart around them and they find out Sydney Kitchens don't want to know them. I honestly don't understand how they can treat their customers so poorly. I regret using Sydney Kitchens and if you choose them you will regret using them also.

Terrible experience – This company required payment upfront, was unable to meet their own specified time frames, appeared to lack installers to install the joinery once it arrived, and made a multitude of errors in the production phase, resulting in further delays and the remaking of much of the joinery. They initially specified two weeks for production drawings to… Read more
be completed. In reality it took over three months. They then specified four to six weeks for production and a further two weeks installation. It has taken seventeen weeks to date (production & installation) and it is still not completed. The joinery arrived in bits and pieces, and much of it remains uninstalled. Communication has consistently been poor and the only time we have received any response/ action has been when we have threatened to write a very honest review on this website in regards to our experience. To make matters worse, Sydney Kitchens were not the cheapest company that we received quotes from. We decided to pay more and go with them in the belief that we would avoid the problems we are currently experiencing. We certainly wouldn't recommend them and wish that we had read a review like this before signing up. We have now moved into a house with incomplete joinery and have had to lodge a complaint with the NSW Fair Trading in order to have rectification work carried out. All cupboard doors/ drawers in the house have been made undersize. The response of the company? "We warned you that you would see the white carcass of the cupboards before the drawings went into production". A blatant lie and also inconsistent with the architectural drawings and their contractual obligations. If you are still considering signing up with Sydney Kitchens for a custom build after reading this review, make sure you submit architectural drawings into the contract and not their `dumbed down' version. Remember that product review is your friend and that the NSW Fair Trading can assist where contractual obligations are not met. Oh, and if you are wondering why their are not many reviews for this Company. They e-mailed us and stated that they would not complete any further joinery in our house until we removed this review from the website. My response to them? It's never coming down. The Public should be warned.
