Ever heard of a winery catfishing customers? Welcome to Tamburlaine Organic Wines – Visiting the Tamburlaine cellar door feels like it should be a great experience. At least that is how it is sold. I mean their website sure had us fooled! Unfortunately, this lacklustre experience is only amplified by their overt commitment to oversell what turns out to be an extensive range of disappointing wines. Sure, there are a couple… Read more

that catch you with your guard down and work as the hook to their “Buy one get one free/But wait there’s more!” discount. A sales pitch that seems great on the surface, and no doubt most experience. Although it is ultimately impossible to be convinced of their pretentious ethos the “how good are we” up-sell strategy is thrown at you from the second you arrive and is by design a fairly easy pill to swallow.

But… (and it’s a big one) when you do shake off the moment and get these wines home for a closer look the wool quickly lifts from your eyes and these budget barrel bottles reveal their true colours while presenting as nothing less than a collection of puffy, self-proclaimed duds.

You could give them away if you dislike someone enough to expose them to this swill or maybe just avoid the bother and head to a winery that genuinely cares enough to not only “remove” the chemicals, but also the pretentious claims of self-importance along the way. Turns out you can remove the preservatives, but not the arrogance.

From award-winners to disappointments at dinner, these wines re-define a lack of substance. The message seems genuine and the story sounds impressive. Just don’t trust that profile picture!

Mark Davison wines are excellent – Tamburlaine often offers members buy a case get another free and we have lately purchased from the Mark Davidson range. They come down to around $12 a bottle and that's a great price these are very drinkable wines. Husband really (continually!) rates the merlot! Delivery is free and is super fast and the wines are organic. Never ever thought… Read more

we would be members of any winery (it's fee with no spend requirements at all) and purchase wines by the case from anywhere! Good well priced wine recommend you try it.

Exceptional organic wines at a great price | Outstanding customer service – As a committed wine lover, but also someone who more recently reacts to preservatives and various herbicides etc, my brand options for general quaffing have narrowed. I bought my first bottle of Tamberlaine over 20 years ago and from their top end wines to their quaffers, they are hands down my favourite. (I am really writing this review though… Read more

for anyone looking for a reliable everyday organic, preservative, added sulphur free etc wine.) Tamberlaine and their other brands are consistently great and excellent value.
