2 years on and in excellent condition – I have a cedar panelled house, about 40 years old. It faces east west and located suburban Sydney. I painted house with endure 2 years ago. I am about to apply a refresher coat. Paint is in excellent condition and appears to have provided brilliant protection to underlying cedar. Very easy to apply. Better than dulux. Very very happy.
Great durable paint – Great tough finish and as long as you follow the directions regarding preparation and application you will have a great finish that will last for years. Most importantly I found that dampening the surface to be painted with a clean damp cloth just prior to paint application made for a very smooth finish. Also keep your brushes fresh. Wash and damp… Read more
dry frequently. We have used this product before on another house 10+ years ago and it still looks great. Technology has improved since then so we expect this current house should still look good in 15 years.
Easy to use but hard to prevent brush marks – I am generally happy with this paint but found that brush marks are hard to prevent. I thinned the paint with a small amount of water to slow drying time and experimented with how thick I applied the paint but no matter what I did I ended up with brush marks. Also the ambient temperature didn't make much difference - I painted when it was 28C and… Read more
also when it was 21C with no difference. I used a good brand synthetic brush which was recommended and did not go over the same area once applied. I was hoping for a much smoother result as I was painting exterior balustrades.
Strangely the semi gloss interior paint I used for trim inside didn't seem to have the same problem.
Stay Away-Absolute rubbish - don't be fooled by the guarantee – If I could rate it zero stars I would. Two years after applying the ultrafine flat, 1 coat sealer then three coats endure (two coats are recommended) The paint showed the crazy pattern through the paint. Taubmans said it was render burn and that we should have PH tested the render before using it. That is not mentioned on the application… Read more
method! I have built around a hundred houses and this is the only product that has failed.
The paint thickness is really thin compared to other paints we use.
If only I had looked into it more before our painter changed to it on a 800m2 home.
Taubmans endure do not stand by their guarantee as some areas in question are on acrylic render so how can that be from alkaline burn.
We are looking at repainting the home in question after less than three years of completion which is a very expensive exercise but our reputation requires it.
My recommendation:
You would be better to use Rockcote Armourflex as it has a much higher dry film thickness and a superior crack bridging potential. It acts as a waterproof membrane unlike the endure. Cost is similar and it will last the test of time.
Rockote stands by their guarantee and I have seen this in the trade.
Please learn from my experience and look into how many microns the paint thickness is before using it.
very disappointed – I have painted with many paints in my 50 years and this paint was the worst paint I have used. It was as thick as tar and was impossible to achieve an even non streaky gloss finish. I followed all instructions, used the correct roller and was left with the worst looking finish i have ever seen. My advice, stay well clear of this tar that is being labelled as paint. Show details
Peeling unles under verandah – Under coat then two coats of endure waste of time peeling after 18months unless it is under the verandah. Never had that problem with solar guard. Why did I change. Oh that's right supposed to last 15 years. Sent in pictures and rang them. taubmans could care less. NOT thanks taubmans
Taubmans Endure 5 years on – I wish I could submit pictures to show you the peeled cracked and bubbled paint. The sheen has completely gone in every area and Taubmans still have not made good with their "guarantee".
great on render – Yes I didn't prime and just followed instructions with two Coates. First went on very dry as new concrete but second was very good. It's Brenn two years and still looks as new. Can't write more than that as it's just paint s o o o I had a good run with it! Thinking of using it for eves? no primer price
Terrible product – Doesn't roll well. Doesn't harden properly. Not smooth in finish. All in all, just a bunch of high paid marketing rubbish that I got sucked into. Sticking with dulux again. Won't waste all that effort and time again. Took it up with taubmans and they could only tell me I was wrong and it was great.
awesome paint – Top quality paint, easy application, highly washable have got the neighbours using it to their pleasure been 1 year now since painting and looks brand new still and I live along The beach where I have have previously used dulux paint to which faded within 12 months.great service from the guys at the taubmans trade centre also :) everything nothing
Taubmans endures two weeks! – Recently painted the house (weatherboard) all with careful preparation - sanding, sealing and undercoating, painting only in dry weather. After 2-3 coats we still have show-through and on every wall of the house the paint is lifting in blisters, some the size of golf balls. Scraping them back for repair shows bare wood underneath - it seems to… Read more
have acted like a paint stripper! Only the colour. Everything, a real disappointment. Weeks of work wasted.
