to ask about this was told it's normal for them to get up to 60degrees (uhm what that's super hot) and that they don't have any safety things to prevent toddlers from getting to it.

This was installed in July and was used twice before the oven died at the end of August. It then took 5 weeks for technika service department to send out a technician. Constant promises they would call us back and never receiving a call back. Oven is still not fixed. Disappointed that our building company would install this when the line is discontinued clearly due to an inferior product.

Different model same old tecknika junk. Electrical hazard – Selector switch shorts out, fan forced can no longer be used and must supervise the unit incase of burning smell from electrical components within the switch. Has to be in just the right position or it will just sit there. Show details

Great oven – Cooks perfectly all the time, twin fan works a treat and cooks everything perfectly. The stove is sturdy and does not warp or move when being leant on. The storage compartment drawer is good to store trays too. Show details

One of the best oven's we've had – Our oven came with the house we bought. Had some issues and strange quirks. Cooks very fast and this was something we have had to get used to. Timer has to be selected to start and stop cooking and also put off as well, even after cooking has finished. Finish is nice and looks good. 2 mos after 24 mos warranty the oven stops working. Technical charges $185 for 30min+$$$parts – Customer Service doesn't care. That their policy. after 24 months warranty, You will have to pay $185 for 30 min service plus additional cost for spare parts. That shows that this product is only good for 2 years after that you may have a lot of headache and high cost to maintain this product. Show details

An oven is not high tech equipment – I have had a Technika TU950TME8 oven for less than 5 years but it has required repairs on 3 occasions and again I have no oven. Never worked well from new – The oven came new with our home from PLantation homes. tHe clock timer failed after a few months and was repaired. The clock section would reset constantly and finally stopped working after 12 months. The back element went a few months later and now the bottom element won't work. Technika are hopeless in their duty to provide hinges that will fit this oven. Long story short

The hinges do not carry the weight of the door, the door drops and there is nothing an owner can do to fix the problem except offload it and buy something else that does not have this Technika name. Buyers beware of their new ovens because we know this problem transferred across in design.

Absolute Rubbish – this came with our upgrade option on our Porter Davis review. It has been such a disappointment. the oven knobs get incredibly hot at burning stage for fingers. just over 3 months old. So great if your house is 34C then the knobs can be 94C. Really. Am sure when Australian standards are issued they are not banking on the oven knobs being that hot. If this is an example of Australian produced product doesn't say much. I would never buy another Technika product again. In fact it will probably end up costing us as am prepared to get rid of this piece of garbage and getting a product that the manufacturer stands by and works. If I could give it zero stars I would.

Unsafe – I have had this oven replaced 3 times due to enamel from the inside of the coming away. And lots of shards of enamel in my cooking. roast and it always burnt. It would overheat very quickly to the point that the clock would go off and things would burn to a crisp within 30 mins even with the oven on the 180 degrees and just normal bake mode (not even fan-forced).

Today I tried once more, only this time after about 40 minutes I hear a lound bang and look to find glass shattered all over the floor and inside the oven. So dangerous!

Do not risk your life with this terrible brand, and if your builder is selfish enough to be using them stay right away.

Only one cooking mode worked now not at all. Digital clock doesn't work – Oven doesn't work at all previous owner of the house had it fixed at least twice that I know of. way through cooking so we were unable to eat our dinner & when I phone I was out of warranty by about 6 months however they did a courtesy warranty call and fixed it. Now yet again it has stopped working and I have just phoned and basically they don't care because it's out of warranty so it is now up to me to pay a service fee and get it fixed!!!! When I spoke with the service bloke he told me that it is common for these ovens to be fraught with troubles, I get online to check out the reviews and see these problems are common. What a terrible product with very poor aftercare and now I see they have been discontinued wow. How about you look after your customers and replace these pieces of crap.

Don't waste your money on Technika – Nothing but trouble since new. Had service call within 2 weeks as faulty thermostat then a few weeks later a loud bang and sparks during cooking and stove would not work. Repair guy said I was lucky I wasn't electrocuted. Poor quality!!!! Rusting within a month!! – We built the house with Henley and moved to the house on 15 December 16. We have selected Technika TU950TME8G Upright Cooker and using almost a month now. Within a month cook top and panel to kitchen wall is already start rusting. Poor quality stainless is used. Total crap – Broken in 3 years. Computer given up so the entire oven and grill won't work at all. not mistreated the oven and I find it hard to believe that such a major flaw was not considered a problem.. I could understand if there was a minor problem but exploding glass door is unacceptable and a major issue. Extremely disappointed in the situation and the lack of assistance from Technika.

Horrible Product – Less than two years we have two big issues. Right after it was installed there was the issue with exhaust fan making extreme loud noise. Hasn't let me down – We have had a cooker for 7 years and are very happy with it's performance thus far. We have entertained family and friends and found it to be more than adequate for doing a roast and having pots and pans going on top. Very happy. Looking forward to many more years of favorable use. Fast Cooking Time – After a long Kitchen refurbishment, the new Technika cooker fitted perfectly into it's space. The cooking times are so much quicker then the old cooker we had. This cooker is much easier to clean and the oven is a dream. Again cooking times are much reduced. Also the oven fan is very quite. Very happy to have this in my kitchen.  Show reply

Great Design and Useful – Very well designed unit. This cooker is great cooktop layout is very useful. The wok burner is extremely hot which its what I need when cooking with my wok or large cookwear. The oven heats quickly and cooks very evenly, so far all my baked goods come out perfectly. Very Happy – My oven is over 8 years old and feeds my family of five and still looks new. I purchased this model after seeing it on display in a Henley display home. Fan forced feature cooks evenly however noticed an ‘uneven’ browning occurring when doing biscuits, call the Technika after sales service and suggested a bottom element feature to be used instead and presto no more uneven browning. Happy Days – Great unit, I like the easy to read symbols and control knobs on the cooktop. The unit itself has a very functional layout, and the oven bakes very evenly. The cast iron trivets are really strongly made and therefore really durable, I even dropped one and not even a scratch.  Show reply

Skeptical but reassured – I purchased this from the good guys about 3 years ago. I was skeptical due to the reviews online. I've cooked muffins, roasts, frozen pies and grilled bacon, everything turned out as they should. Bacon did make a mess but the interior was easy to clean. Happy Cooker :-) – Purchased mine from the good guys four years and i have read some of the negative reviews and i must disagree. Mine works cooks very well, gas burner are great, full glass door so easy to clean. Not a problem in the 4 years I have had it. the features to ensure I am getting the most out of my appliance and I have to say that I am impressed with the cool touch door. My little ones can sometimes touch the oven without me aware and I love the fact that it isn't hot to touch. It's a nice piece of mind feature/necessity.

I find easy to give the appliance a quick wipe down every night to keep it looking like new.

The pan supports are hard to clean sometimes when food is baked on so that's why I wipe them down every night.
