Terrible Iron – Have bought Tefal for last 25 years and this is the absolute worst iron ever. There is nothing express or easy with this iron, steam comes out when you raise the iron. NOT while you’re ironing!!! Was not aware it was discontinued but now I know why!!! Don’t buy one!!!
Fantastic Iron I actually love ironing now – I have this iron & the only disappointment is that the water compartment doesn’t come off to fill it witch is very annoying you have to have and iron cup to fill it now other models have the comparmeant comes off. To fill this up but I love this iron all around very easy and fast too use. Thankyou ...... I love ironing now you can iron 5 or 6 jeans at once :) Show details
Worst iron! – My first Tefal steam iron was fantastic, except it began to fall apart inside, every time I'd complete an anticalc bits of it would come out... I was provided with the GV7550Z0 as a replacement mid 2015 & have hated it since he day I first used it... I have to complete an anticalc several times to get through 2 baskets of ironing (without it… Read more
telling me to do so) otherwise it splurts dirty water over clean clothes - I NEVER had an issue with my first one which wasn't an "easy control". The steam takes forever to build up when you start to use it but then there is an abundance making the ironing board wet!
The anticalc stick became loose instantly, but the screw won't tighten it!
Disappointing when you spend so much money on a product!
Squirts rusted liquid onto garments! – Things started well with this iron but after a few months, when using steam it started to squirt rusted liquid onto my garments which would stain them which was extremely frustrating. I contacted Tefal support but they just pasted me a generic reply about using filtered water. I have always used double filtered water that I use for my coffee… Read more
machine which I told them but I just got another standard reply about the quality of water in WA and to use vinegar and baking soda to clean it regularly.
Not acceptable for a $350 steam iron. Now I need to buy a new iron.
Fast – I bought this Iron as a present for my daughter, who always seemed to have an ironing pile. I was lucky enough to get the product at a fantastic price, -Kambos online - although my steam station is a Philips brand, the Tefal Express has most of the same features at a smaller price. I am happy to report the ironing pile is now reduced somewhat and… Read more · 1
ironing is not the chore it once was. Steam Stations overall cut down the amount of time at the ironing board and that to me is the biggest draw card. The Tefal Express is also is a breeze as far as calc. cleaning goes.
Also did not honour cash back - anyone see a pattern ? – With $100 cash back, the product was attractively priced so I observed the offer conditions carefully. Nevertheless, Tefal's agent managing the cashback scheme refused to honour my claim, alledging that it was 'lost' (i.e. not their responsibility) - they would not allow me to resubmit my claim, even within the offer period. For those customers… Read more
who got their cashback, sounds like you had a lucky break.
So a product better suited to anyone happy to pay full price who wants to support a brand that doesn't play fair with its customers. Could've been good value Failure to honour carefully completed cashback claims
Did not honour cash back - Customer support is like Devil's Advocates – First and foremost, I cannot fault the product except the fact that it's a bit over-priced. But like most of us, I stumbled upon this during a Tefal promotion and bought it from ApplianceOnline. I submitted all the necessary documents to Tefal for cash back and they invalidated my claim because there was a printing mistake in the invoice I… Read more
received from ApplianceOnline. No mater how much I explained, they did not pay the cash-back. I clearly understand the rules of the promotion but penalizing the end customer for a mistake done by the retailer and not accepting clear proof, in my books, are totally unacceptable. I'll be returning the product under their 90 day money back guarantee. Buyers just beware that they do not accept any evidence or documents after a claim has been invalidated. Energy efficient and practical Rude customer service
A great development in ironing! – Having a large family (six children!), ironing is usually a major chore in our home. Have always used a conventional style iron, which usually didn't last that long. This time round, I decided to do some research, as I had heard that vast improvements had been made with this tech. My last iron (a Phillips Azzur, steam iron, required constant… Read more
filling during ironing process, and the steam produced was barely adequate; it also leaked in the end etc). Anyway, just got the Tefal GV7550, after Harvey Norman not only had it on sale, but gave me even a better deal & staff (M'dore) good on advice. Of this iron, just no comparison with older type. So many good things - generous 1.7 litre tank which of course doesn't need filling too often (2 hrs!). Lots of steam produced; very effective on all types of garments. Doesn't have a temp setting, because it doesn't have to, whilst heat is produced from the plate, it is the steam that removes creases. thus it will say iron tough jean creases, to suddenly on the next garment, remove creases from synthetics without adjustment & (no melting of garment!). I noted how easy it ironed two layers at a time (say t-shirt), giving a 'just new' look. I believe this iron will save me overall about 30% ironing time. Though new, its efficiency was very obvious from the start. Because the water is mostly in the separate base tank, the iron is also lighter to use than conventional 'older' style irons, & when not in use, the iron fits on its base, hot or cold. I have separately mounted my ironing unit on a small table near my ironing brd, as the whole system like this just works for me. Everything safe and secure! The iron is simple to use - about 2 mins heating up time; light indicators for readiness; req'd refilling; and one for when the scale collector needs cleaning (small side unit on base, similar to a car's oil dipstick!). I understand I could use this iron to remove creases vertically from a suit hanging up, say. Currently, Tefal are also doing good promotions, which should ensure customers currently are able to acquire a very professional ironing system for a good price. Certainly, I see this ironing system as true value for money in cutting down ironing time overall. Great great investment for larger family, or anyone with huge ironing needs. I would recommend that interested purchasers refer to Tefal's website for this ironing product, where there are video promos for it. All I can say is that my husband (who is normally a cynic!) and myself, are quite graciously impressed with this machine. Would not now even think of going back to a 'trad' style iron; and which I don't think are made very well anymore. This tefal one, so simple to use, yet clever!. effective; energy efficient; looks after clothing at full price this unit would be normally much more expensive than traditional irons! Good deals though usually abound, and as for this iron, cannot think of any bad points so far.
Great product – Once you get used to having one of these types of irons, you will never go back. I love this product, it cuts your ironing time in half. And it doesn't produce so much steam like one I had years ago that made the water drip through the ironing board and leave your clothes crinkly once they were dry. This iron does a fantastic job and is simple to… Read more
operate. The only thing is that is is quite big and heavy compared to a regular iron so you need to have the room to keep it. But I am making room for it because it is too good not to have and frankly I was having a very hard time trying to find a regular iron with decent reviews. I bought the Phillips one that everyone raved about but returned it straight after its first use. I got the Tefal on sale for $299 ($200 off) and it is worth every cent. Quality, simple to use, delivers a great finish Large, you need room for it.
Fantastic Iron! – I have recently purchased this iron after returning three different traditional irons that were faulty and didn't deliver on their claims. This was more expensive but I shopped around. It was definitely worth the extra money and I love it! It delivers on steam and is a pleasure to use. I am someone who irons alot and ironing is quicker and I just… Read more
love the steam. Absolutely recommend this product! It ironed garments properly and items look ironed, no drips, no leaks. It's light weight.
