terrible quality – Worked well for the 1st couple of uses. Nice amount of steam and easy to use. After 2 weeks of household use (only a handful of times), rust coloured water poured out with the steam - staining the clothes and ironing board. When I emptied the unit of water it was cloudy and rust coloured. Water in the tank was clean, fresh and clear. Contacted Tefal who sent back a cut and paste instructions for cleaning the unit with vinegar and then another cut and paste which included instructions not to use vinegar. Regardless, it should not need cleaning after 2 weeks !! Will be returning

Are you honestly suggesting that the water in Perth is so acidic that it will eat through metal and rusted the steam generator from the inside AFTER TWO WEEKS!. (That's probably 2-3l of water that have been used by the unit in that 2 weeks.) I am extremely surprised that the authorities let us drink the water if it is that acidic., Further it is interesting that this highly corrosive hard water didnt damage the last 2 Philips Steam Generators I have owned in the last 10 years. Perhaps the reader can decide if they think that after 2 weeks, it is the water in Perth that has caused the unit to rust and fail or if they think that it is Tefal's build quality.

Hi there, thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear you are having issues with your steam generator iron. I can see from your profile that you are based in Perth? If that's the case, then that would mean the tap water is considered as Hard water which is what is causing the rusty/calcium extract. We recommend using a 1:1 ratio of demineralised water and tap water in your iron to prevent this from happening.
