I bought the Tefal Ultraglide Plus FV5844 a couple of days ago from Harris Scarfe to replace my old Sunbeam iron, which I accidentally dropped and damaged. When I unpacked it, I was surprised (and disappointed) by how short the cord is — only 1.9m long, compared to my Sunbeam’s 2.5m cord, which was much more practical.
Unfortunately, the cord length isn’t listed anywhere in the specifications on the Harris Scarfe website or the box itself, so I had no idea before purchasing. I should have double-checked the official Tefal website, but I assumed it would be long enough to use comfortably — clearly not the case.
Another downside is the dark blue design, which makes it difficult to see the water level once the iron is in use.
Overall, I’ll be returning this iron for a refund and choosing another brand with a proper cord length. Lesson learned — I’ll be reading reviews more carefully next time.
Follow-up · I’ve since returned my Tefal iron — the process was hassle-free. I decided to go with the Sunbeam Vertex 650 Ceraflow instead, and I’m really happy with it. It’s basically the same model as the one I had before (which I dropped and damaged), just a newer version, and it works just as well. Irons beautifully, and the 2.5 m cord is a great bonus!

Desinged by the work experience kid, surely! Base is curved so falls over backwards. You cant see the water level because the plastic is tinted to look cool, so always overfill and spill. Heavy and really, not that smooth a glide. Steam is inconsistent. Sorry that I bought this.
