bad these mattresses get over time. All the customers with good reviews only bought theirs in late 2017 or 2018. Good luck in a year or two!!

An expensive mistake – Have been waking up with acute lower back pain since sleeping on this mattress. Mattress has become very soft and unsupportive and it’s been difficult to get a good nights sleep. I’m spending $ on continued chiro and physio treatments. mattress you start to feel all sorts of bumps, ridges and creases created by the mattress protector, your sheet, your pjs or nighty.

I contacted Tempur who wrote "Tempur is what we call an open cell structured product which means when you first receive the mattress, the cells will be closed and with time and use the cells start to open and make the mattress feel more like the one you would have tried in the retail store. I recommend to take the mattress off the base and walk over it and that will help speed the process of the cells opening". I must say that helped a bit. How often do I have to do that???

With regard to the bumps, ridges and creases they recommended: "pulling your sheets tight under your mattress and this will help them to stop moving a little bit". "

Tempur also thinks I should have noticed what the mattress felt like in the store saying "The mattress after all this treatment should feel like the one you would have tried in the retail store" but that mattress did not have a mattress protector or sheet on it so in no way could I have imagined that it would end up sleeping on creases, ridges and other bumps despite pulling it as tight as I can. Once you sink through the initial soft part of the mattress, the mattress becomes quite firm.

It is horrible that such an expensive mattress is so uncomfortable. I would not recommend anyone to buy this mattress if they are still selling it. I am very unhappy with this mattress. It is no surprise they have discontinued it.

July 24th 2017 Update: Follow up of my first review of the Cloud 25 King Single Mattress

On 10 July 2017 I have received the following email from [name removed], Tempur Australia & New Zealand: "In regards to the Cloud 25 being discontinued, we have changed our range around with retail stores so it might just be that the retail store may not be able to get it now however it has not been discontinued".

A week ago I have sent two emails to Product Review to find out where they have received their information that the Cloud 25 mattress has been discontinued. So far I have not had a response. I would dearly love to know who is telling the truth. Product Review states that from the Cloud Collection models 21, 25, DeLuxe 27 and Supreme 28 have been discontinued.

I have a feeling that Tempur may have discontinued the Cloud 25 because it is a truly awful mattress. Once in bed my hip, shoulder and leg (the pressure points) starts to hurt from the mattress and the mattress is not getting any better. That Tempur does not give a cooling off/trial period already gives the impression that they themselves do not have any faith in their products.

I also read on their website that this mattress Cloud 25 is regarded as soft and firm so they have a bet each way.

Do not buy a tempur mattress unless you get a trial period.

$4000 down the drain – Any reviews that say this mattress is good is probably working for tempur. I think when you're trying out all of the mattresses in the shop these stands out but once you get one home it's nightmares every night, I dread going to bed, every morning my muscles feel soarer and soarer, once you buy it you can't go back no refund.  Show details

Cloud 9 – This mattress would have to be the most comfortable mattress ever, it literally cradles you whilst you sleep. It doesn't matter what weigh ratio you or you partner are, you can be lighter and he heavier and you would not feel any movement if they were turning over in the bed. Durability plus.  Show details

the mattress, we were surprised at how hot and uncomfortable it was. My partner and I could not stop overheating and kept writhing around trying to find relief. The mattress itself was so uncomfortable and we both woke up with sore shoulders and backs. At this stage, we were quite worried, but thought we would give our bodies some time to get accustomed to the new mattress. So on we went, sleeping on it for about 6 weeks and still feeling hot and uncomfortable, waking up with sore backs and shoulders. I decided to give Tempur a call to see if they were able to assist us. When I called up, the operator advised that it takes months to get accustomed to the mattress and that we ought to stomp all over the mattress to 'open up the cells'. They also said that the overheating was the mattress' way of providing 'blood circulation' benefits. I was dismayed at this. For $5,000 you wouldn't expect to have to stomp all over the mattress and overheat. One of the contributors of a good night's sleep is for it to be cool not hot!! Another couple of weeks passed and I contacted Tempur again, and this time, the operator basically said there was nothing they could do for us and we were stuck with it. For such an expensive product, Tempur do not offer any satisfaction guarantees. This should have been a warning sign! A company that does not back it's product or provide any assistance to the customer post purchase should raise alarm bells. We are now basically stuck with a lemon and there's no recourse. I now sleep in our guest bedroom where we have a pocket spring mattress. Please, if you're considering purchasing a Tempur mattress, just don't. You will regret it!! Such a waste of money and Tempur are the WORST company to deal with.

Don't buy GIMMICK!!! We bought another one at a fraction of the cost – When we got it at first we loved it but after 3-4 weeks the mattress is just too soft. We kept sinking in to Oran's it just wasn't practical. I wouldn't purchase this again, we were having the 60 night trial so we were able to return it free of charge minus delivery which was fab. Best bed we have had – My husband and I have had terrible luck with purchasing mattresses having spend around $7000 on 3 different innerspring beds that we haven't ended up liking. little too soft but in the cooler months it is just wonderful. My husband loves it any season. He is 40 kg heavier than I am so it is wonderful to have a mattress that limits partner disturbance and I finally feel like I am not sleep up a hill.

If you don't like soft mattresses, I would suggest something else in the Tempur lineup but would definitely recommend the product.

Amazing – This mattress was so uncomfortable at first but within a week or so I got used to it. Now it is the best purchase I have ever made. Persist with it and it will work wonders! It is unlike anything I've had before so my muscles had to adjust and now I sleep amazing!

Wrecked my back – I purchased this mattress as it was one of their new releases. Within few years I have wrecked my back and have just baught a firm mattress. This may be suitable for side sleepers as the shoulders are not pressed. But provides no support. My advise stay away.

We turn it (head/toe) every 6-8 weeks as per instructed by the HN salesmen. The mattress wasn't hard to start with like people have complained about. I think people just like to complain and a majority of the time those who leave a review are doing just that. We highly recommend this mattress! We think it's worth its weight in gold!

Best decision I've made with a purchase – I had pain from whiplash and a shoulder injury for over 3 years. Wish I'd bought this mattress sooner. I don't have to take pain killers before sleep and I don't have to get up in the night for more. It is worth every last penny! Cannot sleep without it. If you have any sort of pressure pain on your body, don't hesitate. Buy it!!!

Do not buy, it is a disaster – I never have back pain before, after sleeping on it for 1 night I have back pain. This is an expensive mistake at $3899, what a disaster. Way too soft. Felt good in the store because only a short time but does not work for real sleep.
