Loved my first Tempur, this one was awful - induced back pain – I purchased a Tempur Original 21 from Snooze Alexandria here in Sydney. I have bought Tempur beds before (once in Australia and once in the US when I lived there) and loved them for over a decade. In fact, they really helped with the back pain I had in my younger days. But then...after buying the Original 21 and sleeping on it for 6 months, I… Read more

ended up with back pain so bad that I had to see doctors, physiotherapists, acupuncturists...and take 3 weeks off of work. Then I stayed at my friend's place and by accident woke up feeling good for the first time in months! I've changed beds and my situation is so much better. I wish I could return this mattress or something, a lot of expense and a lot of pain. This mattress was supposed to be firm from what I understood, but it certainly did not feel this way when it arrived at my home.

Horrible – Back pain and really bad hip pain when laying down for only 10 minutes. Avoid like the plague. No help after problems occur. Show details

Tempur Asteria Sensation – Both my husband and I were not satisfied with this mattress. Unfortunately, this Tempur mattress emits a heat that caused both of us to wake up in a sweat throughout the night. Sadly, we’d both not had a good night’s sleep since we took delivery of the mattress because of the heat problem. The mattress radiates heat from the core - that you… Read more

simply cannot escape. It is not a comfort factor, it is an unavoidable torment. We seemed to be constantly washing bed linen because of the sweating issue. And more worrisome - my cognitive function during the day was sluggish due to lack of sleep. After a couple of weeks hoping we just needed time to adjust, it made no improvement. We thought we would troubleshoot further online. There was a review that a wool underlay helped with the heat (in that the underlay would act like a buffer for the heat). So I promptly went out to buy both another new underlay & lighter wool blanket in the hope that these would resolve the issues.. It hadn’t. The lighter doona was too cold for winter and the heat from underneath was still roaring hot. I’d alternated in between my sheets – from my ‘good’ 750TC ; down to 360TC ; down to 250TC – but no matter what sheets / underlays / doona we use, the heat would just emanate from beneath..

Luckily Harvey Norman were apologetic and refunded the mattress after our complaint. We promptly bought a different brand and are now extremely happy.

TOO HOT & CHEMICALS - SHOCKING EXPERIENCE – Naturally, we can only tell our own experience and I wish I had read the reviews about this mattress more carefully before shopping. Should you consider buying a Tempur mattress I would strongly suggest to try it in a showroom for at least 20 to 30 minutes. Don’t let any salesperson interrupt you. My husband and I rushed into a decision as… Read more

initially it feels really nice lying on it. But wait till you sleep on it for hours.

After the first night my husband woke up feeling sick and he developed an inexplicable cold, which he still has (off-gassing of chemicals?). He does suffer from hay fever, so we don’t know what has triggered this immense outbreak. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling so unbearably, extremely hot that I went into the guest room. I also noticed that my lower back didn’t feel right.

We did NOT sleep one more night on this mattress, we returned it to Harvey Norman. However they charged us a 20% cancellation fee as we did not want to purchase another mattress from this shop.

Conclusion: Some people like Tempur and some people hate it! Before you purchase one, try it as long as you can.
