The Odd Spoke

Just Plain Dodgy – I bought KMC missing links. They ripped me off and tried to explain it away as a misunderstanding regarding what a “pair” is. These items are packaged as pairs, no matter where you buy them from. A single link has two parts. That is not a pair of links. The Odd Spoke online sellers however use this play on words to sell a single link as a pair - contrary to their own price tags stuck to the packaging, which they cut in half to send an unsuspecting buyer a single link when they have paid for a pair. When I questioned these people they had the audacity to suggest the problem of ‘misunderstanding’ arises because there was no photo image of a single link available to accurately show what the item being sold was. That is a complete crock. A simple web search will find multiple open source items they could use. They also claimed that they made only a couple of dollars on the sale of each link. I normally buy my spare links from Wiggle online, who unfortunately were temporarily out of stock when I bought from the odd spoke - never again. If the odd spoke bought the links, at retail price, from Wiggle online they could make a near 100% profit. I recommend anyone wanting to buy bike related stuff online try any where besides the odd spoke.

No response to any messages or SMS' sent to them – I ordered some chain joiners from this shop. They confirmed the order by email and SMS. The day the packaged was lodged with AustPost I received a PayPal refund from an unknown person with no details on what it was for. It was not until a week later when the items had not arrived I put two and two together. A tracking number was provided but the item has failed to move from the post office it was left at according to AustPost tracking.

The shop has not given me the courtesy of a response to my SMS' and other forms of contact.
