applied in a salon to avoid user error. My hair came out the most unnatural clown, ridiculous red possible which was quite upsetting and embarassing. Whilst I understand errors can happen and was willing to be reasonable about seeking a resolution, the biggest concerns with the company come with their customer service. I have been trying to contact them with NO response since June. I logged into my online account to see they have marked my messages to customer service as SPAM and blocked my emails!! I tried contacting via Facebook messenger... no response. Today, I commented on their Facebook post to try and get some assistance from them and they have now blocked me from their page- I cannot see The Shade any longer on facebook. I realise there are lots of happy customers commenting on their products out there, but beware, if something does go wrong, they are entirely unwilling to be professional and respond. I am horrified by their treatment of me, all I wanted was some assistance to perhaps have the colour replaced to dye over the ridiculous red I ended up with. I cannot imagine why they would be so extremely rude, unethical and unprofessional and block my email and Facebook communication. Be careful! This company is not trustworthy!!

The bottom right photo is what I've been trying to achieve. I went to two different hair dressers and spent $800. The bottom left photo is what it looked like after (I was jet black). I sent the images to the Shade for a consult and they recommended 6.11 intense light ash brown. The colour is so dark now my hair feels like it's basically black again, I literally cried. This product does not do what it promotes. The [recommended] colour looks nothing like the pictures and nor does it cover grey hairs. I stupidly bought 3 boxes of colour and when I sent the company pictures of how bad my hair looked, they suggested I spend more money on their products to fix it. didn’t have a great result. It was murky. But that was my own fault- I didn’t research enough about how to colour over my blonde. My hair actually felt and smelled great after using the colour products, regardless. And the free hair repair mask that they put in the colouring kit is INCREDIBLE for restoring moisture and shine. I did a second round of colour on with a level 6 base instead of a level 7, and it worked an absolute treat. I got the extra colour tube as I have thick hair, so I had enough product to saturate my whole head of hair (love this option). Went and got a hair cut to get rid of my frizzy dry ends afterwards. I love the colour result. Would definitely use it again.

The Shade for around 7 months. I've never had grey hair, because my hair skipped that stage and went straight to white. I've had fun trying many of the gorgeous colours, without causing extra damage to my hair. My hair is now in better condition than it's been for many years, and it's shiny. I've experimented with the 20 and 27 volume developers. For my hair, they both provide total coverage for a mass of white roots. The biggest surprise is the lack of fading. None. The colour holds in the lengths. No need to constantly add colour to highly processed hair, a perennial problem with box dyes. Now that I've settled on the best shade for me, I only need to touch up the roots, which I can do frequently without concern about causing damage. The Shade rescued me from the endless trauma of box dyes and bad hair.
Follow-up · The texture of The Shade is the same as salon quality, that is, creamy, not runny, it doesn't drip once applied. There's really no odor, slight, at the most. Whether using a brush or fingers, application is straight forward, and because the mix is creamy, it's easy to ensure even coverage.

new colour that did not work. I immediately sent photographs to The Shade showing them the outcome which non existent. I told them that the colour they sent through did not have any pigment and didn't even dye my skin which is quite normal when using a hair colour. They told me to return the unused products at my expense to which I responded with a request for postage as their product was faulty. I am still waiting for a response! I contacted my credit card dealer AMEX and told them about the issues. I received written notification from AMEX from The Shade to say I did not used the dye correctly which is a lie. Very disappointed with the lack of customer service. Buyers Beware! Purchasing a product that only works now and again is not good enough. Hair dye is supposed to dye your hair not wash through. I am always worried when I colour my hair at home incase it has a yellow tone. The Shade is great. I bought light ash blonde and I LOVE the colour and it is so gentle on my hair doesn't feel damaged or dry from colouring. Also no yellowing at all.

If I could give a 0 I would. This is supposed to be designed for sensitive skin and people that are prone to allergic reactions. I tried it and almost ended up in the emergency room. I had a severe allergic reaction that made my head swell up, got skin reactions that turned red and blotchy and made my left eye swollen and close up. So thanks for almost sending me to the hospital.
