Bad customer service. They said how busy they were and tried to rectify things on the phone instead of coming out to my property. Had ongoing issue with battery hardly charging. Complained but told all was ok. They eventually sent a young tech out who looked at the dongle only said it seemed ok. Installed app on my phone (which dropped out as… Read more

soon as he left) Hence my solar app was not working so I couldnt see how the battery was performing - other than getting huge electricity bills! (they told me the app problem was telstras problem and told me to buy a wifi extender which I did and for me to buy a new cat6 cable and connect to my modem. Brain strain at my age! I went to see telstra and spent ages on the phone to them and set up a telstra speed test. All was ok but tindo continued to blame telstra. solar app still not working. Still getting huge electricity bills despite being told before I paid tindo 16,000 for my solar battery new inverter and additional panels that I would have MINIMAL electricity bills! I did all suggested by Tindo scanned the bar code on the dongle etc to no avail it was obvious to me the dongle was faulty. I needed the app to see how the battery was performing. All this was so stressful for me being an elderly pensioner and the whole thing extra confusing and stressful. Many stressful sleepless nights. Tindo eventually came out many months later and yipee sent out a technician who knew what he was doing and was very thorough inspecting the installation wiring and switches and he found out that tindo installers many months ago made some serious errors in installation so battery not working well - (hence my huge electricity bills and much stress!) and the dongle was faulty !!!..which he replaced (at long last!) ...Waste of my life savings of 16,000. But however Im now hoping to receive much lower electricity bills.....otherwise why did I pay them all this money!!

8 months after signing our contract, we cancelled our order. Seriously inconsistent communication, resulting in incorrect quotation - they requested an extra $8k one week out from install. Incredibly disappointing as we were thrilled to support a south Aussie business.

They thoroughly explained the process and answered all our questions (We had lots). We did have a problem with one of the inverters a few months later and they were back and fixed straight away. Couldnt be happier. Show details ·  1

Don't rely on Tindo Solar warranties – Tindo told me in Oct 2024 that they aren't responsible for warranties on elements of their panels. I had bought 8 solar panels with attached microinverters in 2012 from manufacturer Tindo Solar in South Australia, via retailer Solar Essence in Victoria who is no longer trading. I bought another 3 panel packages from Tindo Solar direct in 2014. All… Read more

panels and inverters clearly had a 20 year warranty. In 2019 I alerted Tindo that I had a problem with some of my panels (also had problems monitoring the system) and finally sent them photos of the problems, but Tindo ignored me and I gave up due to Covid. After again contacting Tindo Solar 2 weeks ago with no help provided, I resolved the system's monitoring problems a week ago myself, and this week my electrician confirmed that 3 inverters were not working. I informed Tindo of all this, and sent them copies of my quotes and invoices, their original brochure and email copies which confirmed the 20 year warranty, which still covers my system. They informed me today that as the company changed hands with a new ABN in 2017, so they weren't liable for my warranties. In addition, [Name Removed], Tindo's Operations Manager, emailed me that "Tindo is not responsible for the replacement of the inverters as this is a third party product sold by another company", plus the inverter supplier they used on my panels had gone out of business anyway. [Name Removed]'s statement should concern any Tindo purchaser - Tindo panels routinely have third party products on them. I've engaged Tasmania's consumer affairs organisation to follow up on this and will notify the ACCC as well.

Inverter production issue after 3 years – Tindo solar sales service team had been great, responsive and helpful. We have been benefiting from solar power production for 3 years until we had an inverter production issue caused by broken capacitor. The replacement (under warranty) has been ordered immediately after we reported the issue. I had to do several phone calls to follow up the… Read more

progress of the order to the replacement. Altogether we had to miss out for about month solar production while waiting for the replacement of the inverter. I would like to share this experience, I expected a better communication and quicker process for the replacement.

I wish we had used someone else – Tindo required payment in full before the installation, which we paid. Tindo was meant to do a site inspection before the installation day - they did not do that. Tindo said the installation would take 1, maybe 2 days. It was not finished in 2 days and they did not return to finish the job for another 1.5 weeks and they did not respond to my… Read more

email about concerns I had with the installation as it was. I expected that as Tindo had our full payment for the installation, they should give priority to finishing the job. The Tindo installer told us he could not put the cables behind the wall in the laundry and left it with non matching conduit along the wall. When the job was finished, it did not pass the electrical inspection as Tindo had left the fuse box sitting out from the wall. The inspector did say the solar panels were installed well. The inspector also suggested we make Tindo put the cable behind the wall, which Tindo partially did when they returned to fix the safety issues which did not pass. There is still some cable running along the wall because they did not move the entry pint from outside. I have followed this up by email, but Tindo has not responded. The system is producing power, although the gateway has stopped transmitting solar production data many times since installation. Tindo has not responded to my email about this concern. I would not use Tindo again as the service has been very poor after they got our money.

Solar system and battery installation by Tindo ,South Australia – We had had bad experiences in the past with a not very reputable solar company. We asked Tindo for a quote and they came out discussed options and invited us to come down to Mawson Lakes to see the panels being made. Initially we only got the solar system and later one the Tesla battery.they were honest with their quotes,no hidden extras. The work… Read more ·  1

Quality solar panels - 7 year review – Just wanted to share my experience with Tindo. My Tindo solar system was installed in 2014. I chose Tindo based on research, finding that the panels are locally made in Adelaide using highest quality materials. Tindo arranged installation with a local contractor. I recently cleaned the solar panels and I’m happy to report that after 7 years they… Read more ·  1

appear and function as new, after cleaning just with water and a few wipes with a sponge. Small amounts of lichen had attached to the panels in a few places but this was easily removed. This is testament to the quality of Tindo solar panels. The black anodised frames look as new, the textured glass surface was easy to clean, and there is no sign of any moisture behind the glass or at the edges. By contrast I have seen plenty of other manufacturer's solar panels that have severely degraded after just a few years. I highly recommend your panels and service.

Perfect example of great customer service – I recently had an Optimised system installed by Tindo. The sales rep was knowledgeable friendly and easy to talk to plus he obviously knew his product well. The operations team kept me informed at every step of the way, could not have been a better experience. Even hooking up to the SolarEdge app was easy. A great team and a great product. Show details ·  1

Perfect Solar & Battery Service! – I went with Tindo, due to the Aussie build of the panels. perfectly for our usage and needs. The electricians that installed everything did an extremely neat job, and were friendly and keen to answer any questions I had. We even ran into an issue with how the electricity was originally installed at our property, which caused some complications and stress, and Tindo took full ownership and continued to support us until we were good to go. Overall a very professional and supportive operation. Well done Tindo.

Tindo Solar Service - Varta Battery failure – Be Warned I purchased a solar system with a Varta battery sufficient to power my needs in August 2020 The installers could not get it working and I had to wait on yet another service visit. Subsequently, as with other reviewers, I have been mostly unable to access the unit via the web to monitor it. I firmly believe that the Varta battery has… Read more

failed to work as promised since it was in stalled. I believe the battery has been offline more than online mostly since it was installed. I receive notification from my energy provider of $$$ spent in power use.... which shouldn't be happening at all. Particularly through summer !!!! No air conditioning running here.... The battery failed completely in December 2020. It took ONE MONTH for service people to attend, and not be able to fix it, again..... I was told the battery would be replaced, told of issues with the product, and that some were being recalled. Tindo have not maintained contact with me, I have had to notify them of changes to the battery's fluctuating operation, only to be told that Varta ( in Germany) were monitoring the battery remotely. So, here we are another month later, no contact from Tindo and when I enquired today about what was happening, I was told that the case had been closed! No notification of investigation report, No notice of closure, absolutely No resolution to the problem. I would NOT recommend either Tindo Solar or Varta batteries to anyone looking to install a solar system. VERY VERY disappointing, from an Aussie ( Adelaide) company. I too feel like I have wasted my money on a poor and dysfunctional product, with no service back up at all.

Great Return from an Australian Made Company – We had my Tindo system installed in 2017 with Australian made panels. Each panel has its own micro- inverter and send a single to my mobile phone do I can Monitor anywhere in the world. We are so happy with the results and our quarterly bills or credit. Would thoroughly recommend.  Show details ·  1

We never even got past first base – I wanted a quote for an 8kw system using micro inverters. I filled in an online form with details and somebody rang me , took some more details and then I had to book a time with a sales rep. this is rather unusual as most companies will just give a quote after having plans of the roof and orientation. The rep rang and then started asking me lots… Read more

of questions about what job I did , all irrelevant, then he asked what the other companies I had contacted had recommended and what they charged, I was rather surprised, and made the mistake of giving him some details. He then proceeded to criticize the quality of their panels and cast aspersions as to the integrity of other companies compared to Tindo. ( online reviews actually rate both brands about the same.) He contacted me by email saying he had a quote ready and that he wanted to have another talk about it , I don't like pushy sales men and I'd had enough first time round and asked him instead to send me a quote and I'd get back if I had questions, he obviously did not like that but reluctantly sent me a quote accompanied by a long screed about how much better tindo was in every way compared to the competition. The quote was 2kw less power generation in total than what I'd been quoted by another company and also was for one large inverter, with power optimizers, not micro inverters.

Via email I asked for another quote with enphase micro inverters and he began insisting we have a phone conversation, I told him I didn't want one until I had some prices and that either he send me a quote via email as before or he needed to get me another salesman to deal with. Within 30 minutes he was phoning me, being over friendly, despite me making it very clear I was not interested in a phone call with him.

I wasn't angry with him but I briefly I told him I didn't want to talk to him and reiterated that I wanted to deal with somebody else. . He then sent me an email saying he hoped I''d find a system and that was that .They lost a potential $10,000 sale purely due to their sales techniques.

New Varta 6 Battery Verdict is out at the moment – Varta 6 Battery is a 6.5 kW solar storage System. Either the battery or the App used to monitor the battery doesn't work on a consistent basis, I thought it started working after 5 weeks of not much happening, recently it received a full charge on a clear sunny day, then the next day was an even better sunny day, the App tells me that I received… Read more

no charge at all. What the! At the moment I am thinking I wasted my money, and would advise anyone looking at getting one of these Varta batteries to wait until they have the bugs fixed.

Tindo did eventually respond to some negative feedback I had left about it and sent out a subcontractor who didn't even know why he was sent out or had any info about my concerns. He was unable to remotely access the Varta WiFi information about what my battery was doing, said Varta Germany will need to have a look and he would get back to me. Yet to find out the verdict of course, Tindo aren't all that promp to be honest. So in short Varta needs to improve it's remote access to battery info for both the consumer and the technician to access, and Tindo needs to make sure that the subbies have all info before arrival to site for a problem fix. At this moment in time I don't know if it's the App, the battery, or both.
