Awesome every day car – Bought my Camry Hybrid in 2012, new, built in Australia. It is now 10 years old and it is an awesome car, especially while petrol prices are skyrocketing. I fill up every month to 6 weeks, saved the $4000 extra that hybrid costs before the car was even paid off. It's been 10 years and it's only needed usual general maintenance, and yes, the… Read more
battery is fine. The CVT is excellent, can't imagine going back to a traditional transmission, and the torque at the get go takes out any petrol road car. If you can beat me from a flat start then it was driver error, not the car. Going up hills at 110, may as well be flat road, it doesn't even acknowledge hills. Awesome everyday use car.
Very disappointed - weeks out of warranty - $3,700 battery replacement – Purchased brand new in 2013, sold on a 8 year battery warranty. 77 days out of warranty battery fails with a bill of $3,700 to replace. Dealer contacted head office on my behalf which was declined. I contact head office regards warranty as was only just out, to be told no, they not coming to the party regarding this. Been in contact with the ACCC who state ACL states 77 days passed warranty is not acceptable. Show details
Great Car ! – Had this car for many years now. Used for daily drive for highway and city driving. Reliable. Good fuel economy. Comfort nice on long drives. Hybrid has good power and acceleration. Would easily recommend this car. Show details
Such a lovely car – I have been driving Hybrid car for last 5 years. Toyota camry Hybird is the best car in fuel consumption and smooth drive plus safety features. Would highly recommend anyone in car market. Show details
The only car you will ever need – The best car you could own. Just bought my first car a few months ago and I couldn’t be happier that it is a Camry. The car drive so great, it is very spacious and the trunk space is mega. My sister and I are loving it. The only car you need Show details
PERFECT CAR – A great car for someone who wants spacious car but at same time wants great mileage, this 2013 Camry hybrid is a great. Plenty of room and power , this is great for someone who does lot of kilometres. Only drawback is that on wet roads it can skid. Have to be little bit more careful. Don't take it negative I have driven it for work for 3 year done over 250000 km and no problem till date. You do get used to brakes. Show details
Eco – Great performance High stability on road Good suspension economical to drive amazing. Sound system is OK not great like few other cars having. I wish they had something similar my friend have in ford focus titanium. toe bar only weighing upto 300KG which is a joke. I dont know how long the battery will last as it have 8 years Show details
A superb piece of Japanese engineering – This Camry hybrid drives like a far more expensive car. It is smooth and quiet and achieves an average of 5.8 litres per 100km on a mixed city and highway driving. Although I wasn't a fan of the CVT gearbox, this one is super responsive and smooth and gets the power to the road beautifully. Interior is appointed nicely and all the controls fall… Read more
easily to hand. Reversing camera is handy as is the electric drivers seat. Really cant say enough about the Camry's economy and reliability and the Toyota capped price servicing was a bonus
This car is better than any car I have ever owned – Around town it drives quietly and efficiently. On the highway you set the cruise control and relax into your comfy seat in smooth, silent motoring. The Camry Hybrid really delivers everything a demanding motorist could want, economy, space, efficiency and comfort. The ideal city car and the perfect highway vehicle...it's got it all. Show details
Camry Hybrid H 2014 .... Take the good with the bad ! – I purchased this car new, after I sold my Ford Focus auto diesel. It was some experience when you first drive it and come to stop lights and everything shuts down, but on green and a bit of pedal off it goes. This car records better economy than my diesel, much much quieter and a better smoother drive with CVT than the terrible Dual clutch trans.… Read more
The cabin is pretty quiet and reasonably comfortable on long highway trips, there is no lack of performance with the 2.5 lt motor + the electric motor to assist, it's brilliant as when rolling down hill the engine shuts down and also when stopped, in slow moving traffic the electric motor works by itself, so in fact over the total of the mileage the engine has not worked as much as a normal petrol engine running non stop over the same mileage, if you want to move the car a short distance electric motor will do it and if you want the air conditioner on you don't need the engine running ! ..... The bad.... I found the ride way too firm and jiggly, so I replaced tyres with higher legal profile Michelin Primacy ST3 much quieter, but only just marginal in ride, it feels more SUV like and Toyota really got the suspension wrong for this car which is for the mature bracket. Next I have a dash rattle they can not fix, which drives me crazy when we are off a smooth surface (90% of the roads). The interior is typical Toyota, a little old hat, but radio and air con are about average, another issue is that forget about towing a trailer etc because of the electric motor, the batteries do recharge themselves BUT have a very short use time and then the motor kicks in, it's brilliant how it all come together.
Love this Hybrid...!! Some improvements possible but still a great car...!!! – Bought the Camry Hybrid L2 in May 2014. Love the drive, the power, the braking, the silent engine and the fuel economy...on average it gives 5.0l/100km!! So expect almost 1000kms plus more every tank if you drive it right! I feel its the best Hybrid out there yet, for under $40,000 it's the best package and most affordable on road too! Have driven… Read more · 1
2 of the Honda Civic hybrids previously and this one is by far the better electric-fuel combination. Steering is really light and easy, the features are standard and useful, some could have been better (like the Navigation system lacks speed limit alerts, camera alerts, and any customisation to the map display). The dash is nice and simple, inner fittings could have been more rubberised/foamy than than the plastic-ish sort of build...so can get slightly noisy on a rough road. Suspension feels great and smooth for a electric hybrid, could have been a touch more stronger but still gives a decent ride. All other aspects impress and am in love with this vehicle. Must say, for a hybrid luxury variant, this model should have had bigger wheels, better body kit, and maybe a sunroof also which was not included but then at the price it sells, I cannot complain.
Amazing economical car – We bought a demo 2013 H model six months ago and are very happy with our purchase. The fuel economy is amazing for such a big car, it uses less fuel than our 2010 Corolla hatchback. We average around 5.5 to 6.0 litres per 100km mainly suburban drive. The car has more power than many other cars in the medium category so it 's helpful for freeway or… Read more
country road overtaking. It's also a very quiet and comfortable car to drive. Over all we are very happy Camry Hybrid owners and wouldn't hesitate to buy another Hybrid Camry in time. It's a shame that they are going to stop making Toyota in Australia as Camry Hybrid is such a well built Australian car. Fuel economy, powerful, comfortable and quiet car. Australian built car. Passenger's door rattle, no rear reflector lights, sun visors are small.
Brilliant – I'm the fussiest person you'll meet. Finished very nice, nice dash, nice size car. I have 2013 Camry hybrid base model. Very comfortable and very fuel efficient. I do mainly highway k's and fill it when the fuel light comes on with basic unleaded from Apco. It takes between 51 to 55 litres and the clock says between 920 km's to 950 km's. Descent size for the bigger person Moving factory to Thailand Show details

A Great Drive – Just purchased an H model 2012 Camry Hybrid. I previously owned a 2005 Model V6 Camry. 1) Comfort: the interior is first class, very comfortable, quiet, and looks good. 2) Power: this car has great acceleration when you need it. Easily more go in it than my previous Camry. 3) Economy: my main reason for the purchase, recently drove Wagga to… Read more
Tamworth with a full tank (65L) and after 466kms (at 110kph) readout said I still had a range of 470kms. I would consider myself a conservative driver, and my driving style gets the most from this vehicle.
I was going to downsize to a Corolla, i30 or Cruze. But this car is larger, more comfortable, with more power and gets similar to better fuel figures. The easiest decision I ever made. I love Toyota's and I love this car!! Quiet cabin, great power, fuel efficient. Needs a retrofit charger to charge the hybrid battery from a house supply, which in turn would help reduce fuel costs even further.
Awesome car - dollar for dollar – Just bought 3 days ago, brand new white 2012 base H model from dealership using the % finance package - stock standard no extras and to be honest does not need extras (will get it window tinted though). Bought this car after careful analysis of 4 door sedan market (work requirement) and coming off european diesel cars. First commute to work today… Read more
in traffic - car ran at 4.8 L/100 km in a 40km drive, some freeway. I drove in ECO mode as was in heavy traffic anyway so no issues on power needed. ECO mode is fine for the daily grind. Have previously given it a run in normal mode and vehicle really has good useable power. Suspension great for Oz, (I do Pennant Hills road every day and that road is junk). The 16 inch alloys on the H model a better bet for poor roads than the 17 inch on HL. Aircon strong, sound system acceptable. Overall it's an easy drive, very comfortable and enough power while still frugal. Looks of car now better than old Camry. So if looking for the above I don't think anything beats it, if you after brand name and exclusivity then Camry is not for you. If you after a car for your own needs and not worried about your ego and that's still classy enough to fetch a customer from the airport this is the one - a game changer.
Sound system could be better, some hard plastics that will scratch easily.
Just Upgraded from 2010 to 2012 Hybrid Camry – Was very happy with our 2010 Hybrid Luxury Model. Got 6.1 LPH average on a 5000 km Driving Holiday in March 2012. Drove the new 2012 model in April and just had to have one. Drove all the logical competition and the new more powerful Hybrid was better than all of them (at that price point) Have optioned up the base Model H this time to reduce the… Read more
changeover.
The boot is now a more usable size and the performance/economy combination has to be seen to be believed. Average fuel consumption (mixed driving) is 5.7 for 1st 1000 kms driven and feels as quick as some road tests would suggest (around 7.6 Seconds - 0 to 100 KPH)
No warranty claims in the 2 years and 57,000 kms we owned the 2010 Hybrid and fixed price servicing of $130 every 15,000 kilometres was a bonus. Quiet, Powerful, Reliable, Frugal, Roomy. Fixed price servicing. External styling a bit bland, didn't fall in love with new interior either (but both look better with some optioning up - Boot Spoiler/Dash Mat, etc..)
