Was recommended by TPLINK Support after detailing problems having with (5YO) Archer C20 Still on the same internet plan. Brilliant, notiably quicker. Downloaded the TPLINK (Tether app) made the entire setup process simple and easy. 1 firmware update needed. Purchased from Amazon @ bargain price.

Being over 60 tech stuff is very confusing but the operator, Jazlyn, was very patient and polite through the whole issue. Due to her efforts, we are now back online and streaming our favourite shows. Thank you, Jazlyn you are a star.
Follow-up · I had to up grade the router because our internet provider was increasing the speed of the broadband and their information indicated that our old router was not the best for the job. We have a small house but have thick stone walls. In some points in the house the wifi signal was weak or completely failed with the old router. So research indicated that you bring home a new router, plug it into the broadband modem and away you go. Not in this case. Upon call up the internet provider was told that the router purchased was incompatible with their broadband and to contact TP-link. The operator handling the call was very unhelpful and was condescending in his attitude. Rang TP-link and had a much better operator who explained that I needed to call the internet provider to get them to do certain things at their end then come back to them (TP-link) to finish the setup. Not looking forward to making the call in anticipating getting the same operator with attitude. Luckily I got a wonderful lady who did the necessary things at their end then she put me through to TP-link to finish and I got the marvellous Jazlyn and we were back on line Streaming quality is excellent and we have coverage all through the house and down the backyard without a booster. I did receive an apology email from my internet provider regarding the original contact with them

Extremely reliable and tolerant. I use Both 2.4 and 5ghz, smart devices, cameras, phones (4) as well as 5 computers connected to it, I game, run a NAS file server, and this router has never once failed. It handles sustained WIFI transfer speeds. It maintains consistent connection and download speeds and the WIFI has the best range I have ever seen. I actually have power settings on LOW because it reaches everywhere in our house. Connecting to it is easy, setup is easy, the WIFI has smartconnect but if you want to use it to its full potential, switch that off and set up each band independently. Setting up on Australian NBN was too easy (Using Swoop - also highly recommend them). For gaming with this setup we get ping times to other people on other ISP's around10-12ms which is insane. Wifi radiation from the router is not extreme, and I measure this using a Tenmars professional Tri field EMF meter. Never had a problem with it, though I have never updated the software because "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I need to note that the first unit I received was faulty, but replacement on Amazon took 3 days, and this is the replacement. I have been using this for over a year now which is proof enough it works.
Now it is two and a half years since I bought this. I have updated the BIOS via the built in app. I have used this to run VPN natively, I have it running DoD private DNS all natively. It is routinely used to stream movies across the WIFI whilst others are using the internet and our internet speed is 500/50 with an actual download speed of around 12.5mb/second (That is what arrives on the PC not some weird translation number), and this thing has NEVER failed not once. The only modification I did to this was to stick two boggly eyes on it to give it a touch of life haha. Seriously.. if you want a router for ANY purpose - do not get stuck on THEMED routers for gaming or think you can do better elsewhere. I doubt very much you can do better. Did I mention this is a mesh router too ?
