Trafalgar

They cancelled the tour and now hold my money for another 6 months! – Over the years I have done many great tours with Trafalgar, and some with Insight and AAT Kings and this was the first time I had booked a Trafalgar tour in Australia. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 the January and February tours were cancelled, and whilst disappointed, I understood. There was no valid reason to cancel the March tour. I sent the following email to Trafalgar on 10 February 2021: "I had booked on "Tastes of Southern Australia" through iTravel Carlingford), departure 5 January. This was cancelled and transferred to 9 February, again cancelled and transferred to 9 March - now cancelled. I'm not available at any other time. Full payment made early November 2020 - four months ago. I would appreciate a full refund ASAP. All these changes have caused a lot of inconvenience!"
On 12 February, I received this reply: “I can see a refund has been issued to your agency and I've left a message with them regarding this to best support your matter”. My travel agent knew nothing of this.
Following that, on 17 February I was told: They had made a mistake and the refund was from a USA Costsaver tour that I had booked for May 2020! “Your refund timeframe is a minimum of 120 business days from refund request date. Each refund is being processed in order of cancellation submission to ensure as fast and fair a turnaround possible for all our valued travellers and agency partners.”
NOTE that they have already had my money for over 4 months, now they say a minimum of another 24 weeks/6 months.
Then they have the cheek to end the email:
“Have a wonderful afternoon and stay safe”.
My Virgin flight back to Sydney from Adelaide where the tour would have ended, was transferred from January to February and then to March – and when I had to cancel it altogether, no problems – it was done immediately!
