This is an amazing caravan – It’s a well constructed and balanced van, purchased with the Aluminium Chassis to reduce weight by some 250kg , toes well behind the BT50 , the finish is excellent and only had one issue minor light dimmer switch and fix in 30mins so good service

Good van once we'd finished repairing ourselves – We bought our van secondhand one year into its life, during our travels back home I noticed several things and took the van to get serviced at our reputable repairer. They confirmed my suspicions and we went down the way of getting things repaired. One was the fridge which was still under warranty, upon phoning Dometic they told me that I wasn't the original owner so they wouldn't look at the repair, I told them that they had to warranty the item not the owner and that it was their obligation to do the necessary repairs, then we had to find the previous owner and get a copy of his original sales invoice, I mean these companies have the various serial numbers that supply various manufacturers and should know half of this, but it's just hurdles to make it more difficult for one to claim etc. This van was too heavy on the tow ball, after phoning the owner of the company and the Dealer no-one claimed responsibility the manufacturer or the Dealer both pushing the blame on the other even though the van was delivered with everything on it from the manufacturer. We weighed it on a licensed weigh bridge without anything in the front box or water tanks!! man was I angry especially when you looked at the compliance plate!!!! We also found that one of the brake assemblies on the caravan had been forgotten to be wired up so we effectively were travelling with a 3.5 tonne van with three braked wheels and so had the previous owner from new! After moving static weight from the front to the back including extending the two wheels further out from the back bumper we finally managed to get this van back to a reasonable towable weight, all without the help from this so called quality manufacturer. Please if you are looking at any caravan be it second hand or new take your ball scales with you on purchase or pickup do not take delivery of the van unless it complies, you will run the gauntlet with the weigh stations and ruin your experience, being told to leave your van at the weigh station is a nightmare you do not want, we saw it many a time while travelling QLD,NSW and VIC.

We now have an excellent towing van that complies and you the dealer and manufacturer including Dometic should be ashamed of yourselves

Buyer Beware

Great product – I purchased a new Traveller Utopia caravan December 2015 from a NSW dealer just north of Sydney. Some issues occurred in the warranty period with the panel edging coming off around the seating area and the toilet leaking. The original dealer/repairer where I purchased the caravan was no longer an authorised repairer and I needed to seek another out of area authorised repairer but had to wait 4 month for the work to be done.

After having owned the caravan for over 12 months I became suspicious of the brake safe light under the dash did not appear to work properly (in NSW it is a legal requirement for caravan with a brakeaway system to have a battery monitor installed in the drive vehicle).

It was found that the caravan was delivered with the all the brakeaway equipment installed by the original caravan dealer but without the necessary wires in the car wiring harness Also missing was the power wires to the caravan fridge.

Approaching the original caravan retailer he advised that contract labour is used to commission caravans and no records are kept of the work or the sign off process.

The Traveller caravan is a strong beautiful product. The van holds together well nice finish and with 600kg payload is comfortable to take away on trips.

This one had a few teething problems that were eventually rectified and covered under warranty by the manufacturer but authorised agents to carry out repairs are few and far between.
