Lack of communication and proactive management. They inherited a good tenant from the my previous property management company, who had been there for 12 years. Unfortunately, it was only after the tenant moved out that we discovered significant issues — the lawn had completely died, and there was water leakage causing damage to the flooring. None… Read more

of these concerns were identified or raised during routine inspections by the property manager. These issues could potentially have been addressed earlier or even claimed through insurance, but we are now left with a substantial out-of-pocket expense. Throughout the tenancy, communication was minimal. Phone calls were rarely answered, with most responses limited to email. It felt as though the property was simply being “coasted” due to having a long-term tenant, rather than being actively managed. We have since decided to move on, and disappointingly, there has not even been a courtesy call to understand our reasons for leaving. Based on this experience, we would not engage their services again.

Unprofessional and rude property manager – My experience with Ahmed Bin Muhammed was untrustworthy, rude, and unprofessional. I feel like I was taken advantage of in order to not return the bond for the property we rented, and he would constantly string me on asking to pay more for cleaning, and then something else like repairs etc to get the money back. His emails were blunt and… Read more

unprofessional, I know the rental market is tough at the moment but I would HIGHLY reconsider finding a different property manager. I am even too scared to leave my name on this review, as they have already threatened to "blacklist" me after raising the issues with tribunal.

Extremely disappointed with Turner – Really frustrated with the property management from Turner. I was billed almost $900 for "quoting," but there were no actual quotes given, and none of the problems were ever fixed. Maintenance requests were either ignored or delayed for way too long. I had to deal with frustrated tenants and unresolved issues for weeks. I wouldn’t recommend this… Read more

company to anyone. It's been a huge headache, and they’ve failed to deliver on their basic responsibilities as property managers.

Very Happy with the Outcome of my home being sold – I just sold my property with Stefan Krcmarov, I live interstate so was very anxious about the whole process. Stefan was amazing, he dealt with it all at all times keeping me informed about what was happening. My property sold just by the his data base & I was very happy with the outcome & the whole process. I would recommend Stefan & I have to my friends & family.

Do not care about me - an investor – I am an electrician by trade and I have my property registered with Turner in Adelaide. The problem happened when the ignition of a gas cook top of my investment property started playing up itself. A tenant told the property manager (PM) at night time and the PM did not call me at all, but called the electrician to fix come and fixed them up. Do… Read more

you know how much they charge for call out? It was greater than $300 for 5 mins work. When the invoice came to me and I saw it was more than 300, so, I started complaining to them because a maintenance contract stated that it must be less than $300 without approval from the landlord.

Another note on the contract stated "Emergency repairs will be undertaken immediately after they are reported. Every Effort will be made to contact the Landlord to advise of the emergency. However, if this is an after hours emergency, the repairs will be carried out at the landlord's expense and the landlord advised as soon as reasonably practicable."

I complained to PM, an senior staff and also CEO of Turnner, but no one care about it because not their money.

I referred to the contract and the senior position said to me he concerned this as an emergency. So, they needed to get it done." I asked them did you notified me and how much was the fee?

Cut it short, they do not want to refund me money because of breaching the contract by not notifying me, no text, no phone call. This is my money, my expense, my property. I need to make decision, not them and I am an electrician and the landlord but has no chance to perform any skill and decision for my own property.

If PM called me, I would suggest him to tell the tenant to unplug the cooktop and I did not need to pay for call out fee.

My suggestion to any investors is not to register your property to this agent based on my experience.

I also had a few more stories about this crooked real estate agent to be continued next time.

The worst purchase experience I've ever had – We signed a contract for a block of land in June. After 6 months of delay it finally settled yesterday. We paid almost half a million dollars for a block that was left unfinished and with thousands of dollars damage to a retaining wall that we are going to have to pay to get fixed. Throughout the past 6 months the communication from the agent… Read more

involved in the sale, Matt Anand, has been extremely poor. We haven't heard from him in weeks, not even on settlement day. I have been both a purchaser and a vendor in the past and have never experienced such substandard service from an agent before. Would definitely not choose Turner Real Estate for any future sales and would be very wary purchasing from them again. Such a disappointing experience.

Fantastic service from Xavier Davey and Turner Real Estate – Choosing Xavier Davey from Turner Real Estate to sell our property was the VERY BEST decision that we made. With his professionalism, guidance and smart knowledge of the local area, we were able to realise a sales price that was way over and well above our expectations. Rental management – I have been using Turner Real estate to manage my rental property for years. Jayne Williams is my property manager an I have nothing but praise for the way she goes about her work. The screening process she goes through is excellent, never a dud tenant. The maintenance people she uses do a great job as well. 5 stars from me.

Extremely unprofessional and spiteful – Had one of the worst experiences with Jeanette from Turners. She was nothing but abusive to my mother; on multiple occasions she screamed down her ear through the phone and spoke to her with extremely aggressive tone. She came to the house outside of set inspection times without notifying us; and upon being asked why she came so early she did… Read more

nothing but talk over and be extremely rude to my mother; saying 'I can come whenever I want to'. When speaking to my father it was completely different because he is fluent in the English language. I believe she took advantage of the fact my mother does not speak English fluently and spoke over her aggressively in a bully like manor. The Air Conditioner broke repeatedly and she was very slow to get back to us. This can be excused. What cannot is the fact that she said 'None of my other tenants have problems but you' screaming down her ear as if it is our fault when it had nothing to do with us being tenants. She was extremely unprofessional and our tenancy was complimented previously. Her treatment got especially worse when it came time to move out; probably something to do with the bond money. She insulted the work of professional carpet and tile cleaners as well as professional cleaners on the wall; belittling their efforts when the carpets were cleaner than before we moved in! She also put photos up of the carpets before they were professionally cleaned for the final report, trying to get bond money out of us. Turners did nothing about her attitude, the way she went about things and frankly did not care. Honestly was one of the worst real estate agent experiences we've had and when I think about the way she screamed at my Mother through the phone it makes me feel sick. 110% would not recommend dealing with Jeanette if it could be avoided. Although, she may treat people who are not foreign with more respect because she cannot bully them.

Discrimination to pensioners – I rang in regards to a rental property, spoke to Jane McCoy...... her words were, if a person were earning 120 thousand a year, she would not hesitate in offering those on an extremely high income a rental property, before even looking at someone on a pension. Well if I were on that sort of income, I wouldn’t be looking for a rental, I’d be trying… Read more

Finally! A decent real estate agent for tenants – Having been burned by unscrupulous real estate agents in the past, we put Turner's through a number of 'tests' before we rented from them. Refreshingly, Turner Real Estate and Deborah Daken in particular was honest and patient with our enquiries and respected our need to dot i's and cross t's before we would sign a contract with them. Once… Read more

signed up for a year long lease we were very surprised to find that Turner Real Estate understand renting. They were never overbearing, their inspections were convenient and every four months instead of three (in fact, due to an oversight we were only inspected once in the entire lease!). They never had problems organising to fix things quickly and expertly when they went wrong and didn't even increase the rent when a new lease was offered!

We were building a house and when we asked to extend our lease for a month so our new home was ready to move in before we left the rental they had no problem doing this. They recommended excellent, reasonably priced cleaning services for both general cleaning and carpet cleaning and best if all our full bond was refunded without question or hassle almost immediately (within a week) of the final inspection being done.

All in all a great experience renting from Turner Real Estate and Deborah Daken. They understand 'wear and tear' on a property and don't try to blame everything on the tenant and take your bond. If you are a tenant looking for a rental, give Turner Real Estate a go.

YES and NO - Not So Good! – Had this experience together with an immediate family member, witnessed every stage of the process to buy a house in a suburb of Adelaide. We were greeted by two nice clean cut young men and had pleasant interactions. The house was a really nice solid house built years ago with pleasing renovations. Everything went very smoothly and very well… Read more

from first to last. No tiny print to worry about on the actual contract at point of sale because they candidly use one by the Real Estate Institute - not all Real Estate Agents do this. Everything is explained very clearly and openly. Also, we did not get pressured into this sale like an agent for another company attempted to with a different property - she even had perspective buyers making their Offers verbally in each-other's hearing when placing their Offers in writing......a bit rough! There was none of that with this company, everything was very discreet.

We had reason to believe that everything the Agents told us was honest and above board, except outside environment for this property - it was advertised as "A QUIET STREET" and we found after purchase, this was absolutely not true. Let me explain: A local Airport does most of their CIRCUIT TRAINING (on a daily basis) IMMEDIATELY ABOVE THIS STREET - The sound is phenomenal, EXTREMELY LOUD. When cars on a main road, not far away, start up at the traffic lights, you hear them also. In addition to that, there is a neighbour who offends with his stereo on a regular basis - very loud up to late pass midnight once or twice a week. "A quiet street?" Excuse me!

They were honest about everything else but that mattered most to my family member as a health condition necessitates spending a lot of time at home. Some of the planes are deafening and it doesn't stop on fine sunny days when you like to enjoy it outdoors.

Most times, houses are a permanent decision, unlike cars - you can atleast buy another one. Must say, we were disappointed with the lack of Information (withheld) they were very generous with informing us about everything else.

A personal interest - so to speak - by one of the Agents was shown after my family member moved in to ask if he liked it there. Following that, when he phoned them later to say that keys provided did not fit window locks, he was told that should of been addressed beforehand (by the buyer) an unreasonable expectation, don't you think, when keys are handed over, the day new owners move in? Do people think to check things like that when deciding on houses? I would have thought this would be a standard procedure for the Agents to check those things in advance - their responsibility, not ours?

Some time later - not quite two months, when settling in - my family member had an approach from the same Real Estate Agents, asking him if he would like to sell the house he just purchased. Really? YES! Could it be that they knew very well, the noise house buyers have to look forward to in that street? We gave them the benefit of the doubt, that just maybe they weren't aware of those factors - they seemed to be so otherwise nice....pleasantly spoken and happy for him that he got the house. What did they want from us, two sales instead of one? What do you make of this?

Update May 2024: I don't know how I forgot this. When my Family Member was there about 1 week, he noticed Water Seepage in the Bathroom Wall. That resulted in having the Bathroom Renovated $1,400 - $1,500 worth because there was a broken Water Pipe in the Wall, that necessitated having the Bath and Shower and Tiles being Replaced after the Repair was made. It was very involved. Yet the Agents said they had the House Checked Out. Nice well mannered Guys.....really Questionable Honesty.

Some Practical Advice for New House Buyers:

Everything else was good, very good, including some nice neighbours but do your own homework, when considering a house, no matter how nice the Agents are, I urge you! They were honest about something they did not have to be - and so were the Owners - yet they did not tell us what I've written here.

When you find a house you like, go to the street a few different days and times to assess it better. Most of us don't like to go to neighbours houses to ask them questions but how about the next street before buying?

If you are thinking of buying in a suburb anywhere around a private Airport, they told me you should phone them first to find out how much AIR TRAFFIC You Will Find There and ask about Circuit Training in particular.

Please Note: Double Glazed Windows Cut Down More Noise Than Roller Shutters - However, it is advisable to have Both. These will Not Block The Sound Out But Improve Things For You, Sometimes Considerably.

We had a company called MAGNETEC come and install DOUBLE GLAZED WINDOWS in this house that make the planes sound further away and block the sound of the traffic out (at busy times). The windows are quite expensive but very good - read their Reviews!
