Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Router
3 reviews
Great Router - With some limitations – Purchased this via Amazon arrived within a couple of days. It was more expensive on amazon but I had gift cards to use. It took a bit to setup as the mobile setup did not work for me. I had to borrow friends computer which had an ethernet port to be able to setup. Once setup the online controller is easy to use. Having this router allows me to expand my network eventually in to the protect side of things with cameras and doorbells. There is a Maximum throughput of 700mbps which I didn't realise before ordering which was quite frustrating when having a 1000/50 plan but still more than enough speed for what im doing!
Purchased in at Amazon for $450.

Enterprize quality not price – I have tried all combinations of modems/routers, managed switches, mesh wireless from ASUS, D-LINK, Lynksis, and Skynet, etc over the last 8 years. Must have hundreds of hours sorting out network glitches, flakey performance, dropouts and subpar security. I decided to throw the lot out and buy Ubiquiti equipment, consisting of: 1)Dream Machine Pro (firewall, router, with POE, 2)16 Port Managed Switch with POE 3)Unify Long Range WiFi6 wireless access point. connected via 100m underground ethernet to my office to a 4(Unify 150W 8 port POE switch, and a 5)Unify Wifi 6 Professional wireless access point.
Setting this up is an absolute breeze, it puts a whole new meaning on plug and play, accessed via either a smartphone or pad, to provide full remote network control.
The icing on the cake is the Dream machine can support up to 20 POE security cameras if you install an NVR HD into the preconfigured slot.
It's been up and running for 6 months now, without a blink, I can provide detailed tech information back to my ISP, captured by the DM, to follow up on NBN glitches, still common, but that's NBN!
Overall excellent secure solution for a large home office, with many fixed and wireless devices, does 99.5% of what Cisco does only at a fraction of the price.
Purchased at Umart Online Online store.
