Uncle Tobys Traditional Oats

Don't be fooled - save money – I have been eating Uncle Toby's rolled Oats ( sometimes with a topping of fresh or canned fruit and cooked in a microwave for 1 minute 50 seconds) for the best part of my 89 years. The one (1) Kilo package is branded "Traditional" - Retail price $6.50. The 500 G packages are branded "Rolled Oats Quick 2 minutes smooth & creamy" - Retail price… Read more

Both packages contain the same product. The only difference is the smaller packet's product has been cut into smaller pieces reminiscent of floor sweepings or sawdust. Buy the 1 kg package and save $2.50.

than some other brands, but the nutrition is only 1 to 1.5 points higher. Great if you're on an absolutely strict plan.
Uncle Tobys Traditional Rolled Oats are much softer and far more readily absorbent thanks to their preparation before packaging which, to me at least, was a surprise after eating raw oats that have a firmer texture and require either cooking or leaving to soak overnight in order to soften. The Uncly Tobys brand readily absorbed milk immediately, becoming soft within seconds to the point I didn't have to chew as they break up incredibly easy.
As these oats absorb liquid so easily and become incredibly soft, they have been fantastic in protein smoothies as they blend wonderfully. No more chugging a protein shake and feeling like you're drinking wet sand. I can only assume they would be just as effectively converted into oat flour because of this, too.
