I have been using this cream as a moisturiser for over twenty years. It was first suggested by the surgeon to help heal the scar of a recent surgery. I am 84 and when I am asked my age the answer always surprises them. I was recently asked if I was the daughter of another 84-year-old woman. I know it's hard to believe but it's true! Show details

Reduced acne – Great for clearing acne. I have always had skin problems with breakouts as I have hormonal acne. My doctor recommended this product. After I cleanse my face, I apply this ointment to my skin where my pimples are. The next day the blemishes are still visible but are definitely healing. If I continue to use the ointment they would be cleared in a… Read more

few days. This is the best result I have had with any product for my acne prone skin. Yes as the other reviews mention it does have a 'fishy' smell (I feel it is quite mild as a scent) and it is oily but my skin hasn't dried out because of that. If its going to clear up my skin, I don't care how it smells and feels. I would highly recommend to anyone with hormonal acne prone skin that is fed up on having constant breakouts. For the cost of it (as its around $12-$15 a tube) I would give it a go.

Fantastic for improving wrinkles, uneven skin tones, under eyes and eye lids, forehead, nevk- slather on at night, dab under eyes in the morning. Soothes symptoms from TSW - Topical Steroid Withdrawal-packed with Retinol Palmitate. Love it even the scent! Shaving irrigation magic balm and more men should use it! Show details

This is brilliant at healing - for 60+ years. Nothing better – My grandmother used this, my mother used this, I used it & my three adult sons wouldn't live without it. Nothing heals so quickly for off the shelf products. I don't know why it isn't more popular. I have to order it in at my pharmacy. I am using it today to heal my severely sunburnt lip. Show details

I literally can't live without Ungvita – I have Lichen Sclerosis and use this every day morning and night. It is the only product that not only eases the condition but doesn't sting or burn when applied. The only drawback is it doesn't come in a small tub, the tube isn't enough for me as I use twice per day, 7 days per week, every day of the year. I hope the manufacturer sees this as many people have this auto immune condition and use Ungvita ointment. Show details ·  1

A Must Have Ointment in your Medicine Cabinet – I'm in my 70's and Ungvita has been close to a lifelong companion. My main use for it has been in healing wounds... everything from those nigly little paper cuts to surgical aftermaths. For a cut on a finger, apply a tiny smear to the wound then wrap with micropore tape... to keep the Ungvita on and to protect your clothes or sheets. It is a… Read more

little oily. In twenty minutes, you'll have forgotten the pain and by the next day, it will be almost healed. I find it marvellous as a healing agent for any open wounds ... it's quick, pain-free, inexpensive and it's easy to have on hand. I've had a lot of surgery for skin-cancer and many of my wound sites and scar lines are invisible... I think largely due to the use of Ungvita. I hadn't thought of it as a cosmetic aid till reading other reviews but having done so, I'm not surprised. I share the enthusiasm others are offering... it's one of those Wonder Products that everyone should have on hand. Thankyou Bayer for Ungvita!

Gentlest ointment out there – I used Ungvita exclusively for my babies nappy rashes and it never stung or caused a skin reaction. My babies are now parents and have used other products on their babies. I still always have Ungvita in the cupboard, but recently tried one of the alternative ointments recommended for nappy rash on myself. It was not as painless as Ungvita. All babies deserve the least painful option on their delicate skin. Show details

Ungvita - TOP must have in your home! – Ungvita Ointment has to be one of the TOP must haves in your home. I use on my face when I have had a breakout and used my Differin (adapalene) Gel. The Differin Gel dries out the skin therefore you need something to help slough of the dead cells and Ungvita does this. It also helps the healing process.

I have used Ungvita successfully for over 65 years – I have used Ungvita successfully for over 65 years. As a child I noticed the cod liver oil smell but liked it because it worked "like magic" (my words in the 1950s) on my cuts and grazes. A few years ago I bought a "lower smell" version of it but found it was not as effective so I went back to the smelly version. I bought a new tube recently… Read more ·  1

and was pleased to see it was still available. I know of nothing else that comes near its rapid healing qualities. I am surprised this aspect is not prominently written on the tube and container.

Can't recommend enough - Great for fine lines and wrinkles – Purchased this just recently (used to use it 30 years ago) for dry skin. Used a small pea sized amount on my face and after 3 days noticed a change in fine lines and wrinkles. Am now sold on it and apply a thin layer every night, will always have a tube on hand.

#1 for facial wrinkles and clarity – Been using this product on my face for 20+ years. I am always in the sun, tanning, long summers and dry winters.Never used sunblock - should look 65, but people think Im in my 30's, Im 46 years old. This is a true miracle cream if you give it a chance. Very tiny amount the size of a pea rubbed in morning and night. I try to stir the oil and gel… Read more

with a skewer to maintain full integrity of the product, the oil is the elixir of youthful skin. I've edited this review to add ... my combination of baking soda and vinegar wash, before ungvita is still my #1 beauty regime at 54 years old.

Family tradition – I am nearly 67 years old and have been using ungvita all my life. My parents used this product . All my children have a tube of ungvita it is magnificent for cuts , blisters , burns cracked heals and it usually takes soreness away from wounds in a hour after applying this product. I have various stories of when I have used ungvita and would love to know when this product was invented.

Skin Saver – What stands out from this product is actually the smell. Pungent to most people with its fishy aroma (since Vitamin A is usually derived from Cod fish). However, the consistency and the texture of the ointment is perfect for almost everything from preventing and reducing fine lines and wrinkles, cracked heels and nipples, rough knees and elbows.… Read more

In my case, I had used to promote the skin healing of my very prone eczema spots. I would recommend to use this during night time while you sleep, and wash it of via bath or shower within the next morning as the smell can be noticeable in public. I still give it 5/5 because it has been a huge help to my skin.

PERFECT for dried out skin from acne products – This stuff is fantastic, I recently burned my skin with Benyzol peroxide.. no amount of aloe vera or a suitable moisturiser would help the persistant, horrendous flaking and soreness..it was turning into a huge crater- like sore on my face. I found this little bad boy in the cupboard (bought it years ago to heal a tattoo). Put it on before bed and… Read more

woke up with significant improvement. The dryness had dissappeared and darkened scabs came off with fresh skin underneath.

Can't recommend it enough for those suffering from wounds and sores from cystic pimples. I wouldn't recommend putting it on an active flare up but to help the aftermath... amazing stuff.

and who cares about the smell, quit your whinging!! it absorbs quickly enough and the smell isnt THAT bad.

oh and as mentioned above.. great for healing tattoos.

Great for cat flu – I've just used this on a kitten with severe conjunctivitis and nasal blockage due to cat flu symptoms. I applied the ungvita onto a cotton bud and then over the glue eye (which is shut). I did this to soften the hard crust of discharge. The same with the nostrils. Not only did the crust soften, it went away and the very inflamed eye surrounds… Read more

went from bright red to pink. The nose has not become occluded since with discharge. The Ungvita gives a good water proofing and is very soothing to the kitten.

Tried and True – I've been using Ungvita for many, many years. I absolutely swear by it for healing and repairing skin issues. I suffer from a rare autoimmune issue known as Lichen Planus and it is one of the only ointments that actually helps alleviate the awful irritiation (even in intimate areas). In fact, I've used Ungvita to cure my horses of rain scald, and it works better than any standard equine product I've used. It's great stuff. It really is.

Cheapest and most effective beauty product out there – At about $10 a tube, can't get past this one. It reduces redness, keeps my skin smooth and clear and has greatly reduced the depth of acne scarring and wrinkles. I used to use Skin Doctor's gamma hydroxy but after finding Ungvita I'm saving a lot more money for virtually the same effect. I did some research on it and it works by regenerating the epidermis more regularly. You don't need to use it every night like other products either.

Bayer Ungvita Vitamin A Ointment – AAA+ initially purchased to help my baby boys nappy rash, it worked a dream! secondly, fabu for minor burns. Mostly, I use it to right wrinkles - Most evenings I will snip the end off a fish oil capsule, wipe over face and then apply Ungvita around my eyes or old acne scars. Enriched with Vitamin A fabu for fighting wrinkles a little on the smelly side

Only use small amount, it's an oitment and it's Fishy... So the smell can be a bit over powering when using large amounts. good price, works well etc Smell can be overpowering.

Excellent – This is a product recommended to me by a friend. I have used it on scratches, dry skin and minor burns. Be warned - you only need a little bit! Once applied, it seems it is best to leave the area alone for a few minutes to allow the Ungvita to be absorbed by the skin. It is great for scratches on sensitive skin areas like the face or thigh… Read more

(children), as it heals them without the scarring that would otherwise be left. It is very smelly and my children always complain when I tell them they will need the 'smelly cream'. They are always willing for me to apply it as they have seen the results for themselves! Heals like no other over the counter product I have used before. A little of this product goes a long way. It smells absolutely terrible!

Excellent – After having no luck with other creams for bubs nappy rash I was told by my Doctor to try this. It cleared it up quickly. At the first sign of nappy rash I apply it and it's gone. Would highly recommend it. Gets rid of nappy rash. Value for money. It doesn't have a very nice smell! Show 2 replies

Excellent – Recommended by a vet 35+ years ago when our cat lost a large area on top of its head down to the bone. Healed perfectly (and I mean perfectly). When I was 15, I found a tennis ball that had been cut in half. I turned it inside out and suctioned it onto my arm near the elbow. It stuck. When I pulled it off, the skin looked reddish from the blood… Read more ·  1

that had been sucked into the tissues. I then put the tennis ball on my chest. The suction was so strong I couldn't get it off when it became painful after about 5 to 10 seconds. When I finally got it off (after about another 5 to 10 seconds), I had a perfectly round, very, very dark red mark slap bang in the middle of my chest (think Japanese flag). It was far, far worse than the mark left on my arm. Then I recalled that when I was 5, I had sucked my forearm for a few seconds and it had left a brown mark from the melanin in my olive skin that was still there 10 years later. I knew that if I did nothing now, I would be left with a very large, very embarrassing permanent dark brown mark on my chest. So, I put Ungvita on my chest morning and night. I didn't put any on my arm. Over the course of a couple of weeks, the Ungvita COMPLETELY erased the mark on my chest. 26 Years later, I still have a dark brown mark near my elbow where I hadn't put Ungvita. Incredibly fortunate to have known about Ungvita. Absolute magic for eliminating scarring (if applied soon after trauma). Essential if you have olive skin. It smells like (and is no doubt manufactured from) fish oil. Being an ointment, it's greasy, oily and messy. Can interfere with the ability of adhesive dressings to adhere.

tube so well worth it! Wipes off easily - would be nice if it had a better coating base especially for use in the nappy region - when used for nappy rash I have found it works better if you apply it and leave bubs nappy off for 10 or so minutes to give it a chance soak in!

Excellent – This is an overall great product which can be used for so many things. It actually reminds me of the Elizabeth Arden Eight hour cream. This is great for childrens sores, insect bites, chapped lips and dermatitis. I have been using this stuff for years. Do yourself a favour and buy it. A must have in every medical cabinent the smell

Excellent – I think this stuff is as close as you can get to RetinA without getting RetinA. It's vitamin A in petroleum jelly. My dad used to use it to fix the crack in his fingers in the winter, now I use it on my face, on scars and on my feet. Amazing smelly stuff. Fixes cracks in skin and heals without scarring Yeah, it smells fishy.
