Uniden DECT 1635 + 3

Fantastic product – I have had this phone for about five years and have never had a problem (other than forgetting to return the handsets to be recharged). The reception is excellent throughout our double story house and garage and I do not experience any interference. I have other Uniden communication equipment and find them quality products. Very Basic, Subject Quality and Feature Poor, but Ok for the Price – For the price point, the unit offers pretty good value, but don't expect much more then the Basics. The rubber feel of the dialing keypad is good under thumb and back lit, the speakers are loud and good Audio Quality, but thats about where it ends. My unit had a faulty AC adaptor, but Uniden rushed another one our from support at no charge to… Read more
replace. Battery life is reasonable considering the price point, but the menu's and answering machine are not easy to use and very basic in nature. Plastic's of average quality, but considering the price point ok. If you want a set thats going to last a couple of years and throw in the bin, than these will do, but if you want something that will last I would look else where to another model.
Uniden 1636+3 – Have had many attempts to access recording mode for answering message to no avail - there is just no way it can be accessed and uniden want $35 to speak to their technician!!! I cannot return to store as I did'nt think I would need to keep receipt! very disappointing as I have a Car Cam which works fine Show details
Worst phone I've had – My original Uniden phone was excellent and never missed a beat, that is until a severe electrical storm surge "took it out". I bought a replacement 1635+3 system and had trouble from the start. One unit, would frequently but intermittantly fail to connect,I thought may it have had bad reception so I repositioned the base station and swapped the… Read more
remote sets around. The problem got worse and all stations suffered the same problem. Eventually realising that it was a system fault. Granted it was a cheap unit, but that should only affect it's features not its realibility.
Tomorrow I am going out to buy a Panasonic set, I am not prepared to suffer another Uniden.
Keeps resetting to 2 rings – Reception is good, problem is with the answering machine which defaults back to 2 rings - the 'tollsaver' setting. This is a real pain as it is pretty difficult to reach a phone in 2 rings. Yes, you can easily set the rings back to 9 or 12 but you have already missed the call, and it seems to default every time the power is interrupted, and I have… Read more
to look up how to change it each time. Also, if you can't find a handset despite having 4 of them you can't intercept the call at the base station. Very frustrating, 2 major design flaws in what would otherwise be a good phone.
Not happy! Returned the product – I had to return the phones because only 2 out of 4 handsets worked. The others didn't. The message: "Place handset on base" kept appearing on the screen but the handset WAS placed on the base. The other message that would appear was that the base was too far from the primary base, so apparently it was out of reach. However, I tried them one next to the other and the same sign appeared. Faulty or bodgy phone!
I have been using Uniden forever until I bought the Dect 1635+3 – It cuts out when I am talking, sometimes the sound goes so low it is hard to hear even with the speakers on, sometimes crackles, sometimes still ringing when you pick it up and have to run to another phone not impressed I I was blaming the NBN connection now I am not so sure. Luckily I kept my old Uniden much more solid and easier to put in the holder. Bring back quality please.
Good for the first 12 months and then rubbish – I have been having problems with the blinking light on all 4 handsets when there are no messages and have repeatedly ask for advice on there website to see if there is a solution and all I get back is deathly silence. I have given up and will never buy another one.
Better than I had hoped for – I got the +4 package for the same price ($88 Dick Smith Feb 2015) as the +3 so we now have the house pretty well covered. All we want is an answering service (default setting) and Call/Answer basic facility, but clear tone and loud ring level. We get all that and although I agree the display text is too small it is not something we need very… Read more
often.
It operates from the house down to the shed (colourbond cladding) about 40 metres perfectly.. The keys are large enough for ageing fingers as are the key labelling.
Only had it 2 months but no problems at all. The setting up was easy to read and perform.
Improved technology – Mains fail safe if a charged hand set is on the base station. All handsets are equal and part of the base so programing is simplified along with intercom and shared call usage. Privacy can still be activated for a call and this self resets at call end. WiFi tolerant and sympathetic. My ADSL Modem is a bit faster now. The handsets feel a… Read more
little light and plastic compared with the retired earlier cordless that gave good service but price follows the weight down and now I have three hand sets with much better wireless DECT Hoodackie advantages. NZ $72
