Totally untrustworthy! Can't be relied on to obey the law – Totally unreliable! Don't ever pay a deposit because they won't return it if they fail to deliver! We paid $12600 over 2 years ago, and not only did they fail to deliver they also did NOT obey the official NCAT tribunal order to refund the deposit. They cannot be relied on to obey any laws.

Shocking customer service. Mind boggling delays – We had a bad experience with Vanguard Blinds. It took over 2.5 years to have our blinds installed. Communication was terrible and I had to chase them consistently over many months. There was no apology and no discount. The product we have had installed is excellent. Such a shame the company has not learnt the basics about customer relations. The… Read more

Terrible after sales service – We had our blinds installed three years ago and since day one there have been issues with the installation and with the blinds themselves. Initially Vanguard were keen to rectify the issues but then lost interest. They kept promising to send someone but they either deferred the service call or just did not turn up when promised. The have now… Read more

The worst company you could ever deal with – I paid a large deposit on a repair for an outside venetian blind. After 2 years there was no repair as the parts were apparently still to arrive from overseas. When I asked for my money back (by phone or email over 30 times) I was told any number of lies but I have yet to get a refund. Never use this company Show details

Took my money, and never delivered the goods – I placed an order in March 2021 and paid the money. The delivery was supposed to be immediate. They kept promising it was comming, but they never delivered. They stopped returning calls, or responding to emails. By 16th July I had enough, and instigated legal proceedings to recover my money. Avoid - they are unreliable and not to be trusted . Show details

Warning – Warning! Do not use Vanguard Blinds. They take your money and then never deliver on the work. They’ve had my money for over 12 months now and still no blinds and no communication from the company. I have had to initiate legal action to recover money and I doubt they are trading solvent. I attended their office there weeks ago to serve papers and… Read more

Nil customer service, nil accountability, nil performance, nil communication, stay away!! – I wish I had read the reviews before I placed an order with this business. They have no concept of meeting obligations or customer service. We placed an order in late September 2020 and we don't have an installation date yet. It's not a complex job, just two sliding louvres. In fact, on 16 December 2020 they announced with great fanfare that our… Read more

installation would take place the week commencing 25 January 2021. Then, we were advised on 28 January 2021, a few days after the proposed installation date, they didn't even have all the materials. On 1 February 2021 they said they would come back to us ASAP with a firm date. Still no advice. Unbelievable. UPDATED 8 March 2021, still nothing despite advice from Vanguard on 25 February 2021 - still unable to provide a firm install date...... will aim to come back to you in the next 24hrs. Still no advice.

UPDATED 10 MARCH. We called [Name Removed] as suggested. He knew nothing about it but said he would call back by the end of the day. Guess what? As expected nothing. Your words are just words Mr Owner. Despicable behaviour. We'll call again tomorrow.

UPDATED 2 MAY 2021. We received an email on 13 April 2021 advising that the job had been delayed (really?) and rescheduled to Thursday 22 April 2021. The email attached an invoice that they wanted us to pay….dreamin.

Three days later we received a phone call to say that the installation would not be taking place on 22 April 2021. Surprise surprise.

An email on 23 April 2021 then advised installation on 29 April 2021.

Unmet promises so far: • Email 29 October 2020 - advising installation 7 December 2020. • Email 4 December 2020 - advising installation 11 January 2021 • Email 16 December 2020 - advising installation 25 January 2021 • Email 31 March 2021 - advising installation 9 April 2021 • Email 13 April 2021 - advising installation 22 April 2021 • Email 23 April 2021 - advising installation 29 April 2021

So, they turn up on 29 April 2021 and guess what? The measurements are wrong, 75mm out on the height of the frames and louvres. How do you make a mistake of that magnitude?

Now you would expect that you might receive a phone call and an apology immediately. But no, Instead, these clowns leave the apologising to the installer who has nothing to do with the error and send an email late the day after offering a disingenuous apology and telling us they they plan to fix the problem ASAP. ASAP to this company doesn’t mean anything.

So, the saga continues - now 23 weeks late.

UPDATE 14 August 2021

The project is almost complete. The main installation was completed on 2 August 2021. That's 11 months late!!!

All that's left for them to do now is return and paint the 13 holes they had to fill after drilling in the wrong place and then offer an apology by personally calling rather than send emails of demand for payment and threatening legal action.

Poor quality product – After spending $6000 three years ago on an awing, I have replaced one arm twice and the other once and now the fabric has become loose on one side. Service has been ok but unfortunately the product is well below par and I certainly won't be recommending them to anyone

poor service, poor product, stay well away – I had a drop down awning fitted by Vanguard just over two years ago at a cost of $6000. I started noticing fabric getting loose on one side when the awning was down. I requested a serviceman to attend. They did not send anyone out but just made excuses as to why it was happening. In June 2020 I booked in another service call as it got worse and… Read more

one of the side rails has issues. Had to pay over $200 before they could attend. I Supplied them with multiple photos so they can repair the same day. After multiple cancellations, countless phone calls someone came out. The technician had a look at it, and said he wasn't familiar with the product and will get back to me( how frustrating). It is now December still no closer in getting it repaired. Now I'm told mid January at the earliest. Vanguard should be ashamed on how they treat there customers. I have know idea how they are still in business. I will be taking this matter further. This is the first time I have ever left feedback online. All I can say is learn from my experience. Stay well away – After paying a hefty deposit for our louvres to be installed in January this year, word came that there would be a delay as they were coming from Austria ( was the first excuse we got), then New Zealand and close to home, Queensland. Shall I take a year to pay the balance? I’m sure I’ll be hearing from you now. I guess fuel for your private plane is expensive. How is Vanguard still in business – Customer service does not exist with Vanguard. How are they still in business? We had balcony louvertech screens made & installed by Vanguard on a new building in 2015. In early 2016 the powder coating failed on the 3 frames that hold the louvertech blades. We chased Vanguard for 4 years to replace the faulty louver frames as the design was unique… Read more

to Vanguard. Finally after unbelievable chasing the 3 replacement frames arrived June 2020 over 4 years wait. We then chased for Vanguard workers to do the work. In August 2020 Vanguard guys arrived to remove the louver blades from old frames and put them in the replacement frames. After removing the blades from 2 of the frames they discovered the powder coating on the 3 replacement frames is also faulty. They packed up the parts they removed and left them on our balcony. They put the large frames in our garage. [name removed] the Vanguard supervisor on site said he needed to check with head office what to do next. Over the last month & a half I have since sent many emails, text messages & phone calls to Vanguard & [name removed] and they haven’t answered or replied to any. I have been in business over 45 years and never found a company as bad as Vanguard for customer service. I’m expecting another 4 year wait before we can use our balcony, get the frames out of our garage and have the problems fixed. I’m not one to give up so I’ll be off to the lawyer soon and seems like a good story for Current Affair to warn other potential Vanguard customers.

Thrilled with a very important component to our new build home – Shading and blinds were a very important component of our new build mid-century modern home, which faces west. What a disappointment - wish I'd never heard of Vanguard Blinds – In October 2019 I was expertly serviced by Vanguard sales people and paid a 70% deposit based on the shutters being installed in 6-8 weeks. It is now almost 9 months since payment and there has been virtually no communication from Vanguard unless I contact them. They do not answer their phones or respond to voicemail (unless I ask for sales) and… Read more

rarely do they respond to my emails. When they do respond they appear to know nothing about my job and provide a variety of different excuses. I understand that delays happen and more recently COVID19 appears to have had some impact. As such my main issue is the lack of communication, particularly from the owners of the business and the people who were so happy to have my business and take my money. At the very least it shows a total lack of respect for me as a customer and leaves me worrying about their ability to actually carry out the works and provide any future backup support for their product. It is now July 2020 and once again I have been fobbed off for another month by their 'customer relations' person. Clearly customers are only important until they pay the money. I guess I'm off to the lawyers to try and get my money back before these guys go broke.

Update - it is now mid Sept 2020 and the shutters were installed this week. I appointed a lawyer who was given the same run around but maybe made some difference although waiting a year for a 6-8 week job is outrageous. Having the work completed has still not eased my anger at being treated so poorly.

reviews. Our body Corp limited our options. Since our pain the body Corp have introduced other suppliers.

This has impacted us physically and mentally due to the inexplicable, outrageous and contemptuous way they treated us. They held $20,000 of our money and never met one of there commitments. E.g returning calls, delivery, product quality.

We spend the last 6 months in fear that they would go into receivership and we had done our money.

Avoid Vanguard Blinds at all cost – Never have I dealt with a company who displays such contempt to their customers. For six months now, I have been trying to have Vanguard Blinds repair the blinds on our tenanted building. What started out to be a service request now turns out to be a major repair. Having accepted their service quote in June 2018 (quote was exceptionally high) I… Read more

was advised that it would be August before anyone could service the blinds. By the end of June the ladder cord on one blind had snapped (blinds installed June 2016) and in July another blind was badly damaged in a wind storm. All of this could have been avoided if servicing was done within a reasonable period of time – (I consider within 2 weeks of accepting the quote as being reasonable).

I too experienced the excuses of “they were looking to put on a new team”, they will “get back to me later in the day” , needless to say they never did nor did they return phone calls or emails. Customer service is an integral part of any business, satisfied customers are the best form of advertising. I will NEVER recommend Vanguard Blinds to anybody.

Even after contacting the International Sales Manager of the Austrian blind manufacturer HELLA on more than one occasion they too have been unable to change the situation nor have they followed up to date to be informed of any outcome.

Fair Trading NSW have not been able to resolve the matter as payment for the blinds of $30,000 was made to the Vanguard Blinds QLD. So much for 5 year advertised warranty.

Vanguard Blinds - a TRUE installation story! – These guys have appalling customer service. Don't be fooled by the slick sales promises of 8-12 week installation, because as soon as they get your money they won't return your calls. You won't be able to find out anything about the manufacture, delivery or installation. The myriad of excuses will include:- 1. We are just reorganising our schedule… Read more

and will get back to you in 2-3 days (they don't of course) 2. They have just left for the day & will call you tomorrow (they don't) 3. They are off sick will call you tomorrow .... (they don't). My neighbours had their blinds quoted (at the same time we did) by Cosmopolitan Blinds. Not only were their blinds installed months ago, they were fully half the price. Which makes you ask why did we stupidly go with Vanguard - we like the design of the blade! But can say not that much that we are happy to go through this feasco!

We ordered and paid for our blinds with the Fortitude Valley branch in Brisbane 4 months ago and still they are 'off sick' and can't confirm anything. Does anybody know if this company is solvent?
