Don't Even Bother - The Lada Of Vacuums – Have had this bad boy a few years now. It is average beyond belief. From the retractable cord to the replaced drive belt and or cracking plastic on head connecter and other places.

Amazing! – Brought this last week and wow! its amazing!! i have an old old Vax and we were looking at getting one of the new dysons but the price and cord length put me off. so we looked at the Vax and im so glad we brought it, its amazing, the Power head works so well, our old carpets look amazing. We are getting new carpet installed in Oct 2012 so we decided we needed a new vacuum and its perfect. Easy to use, easy to move around the floors on carpet and wood. The power head is just amazing, it picks up every small and large bit of dust and junk on the floor The handle is just a little heavy but no biggy

Great Capabilities in a Compact Unit – I bought a Vax over a Dyson, glad I did. This compact unit makes vacuuming a breeze. The motorized floor head and suction power are incredible for such a small unit. The hard floor brush is excellent quality and very effective as it glides over hardwood floors. The powerhead floor brush just sucks the dirt up and out of the carpet in a single swipe - no need to drag it back over the same patch. It's easy to clean - takes no time to empty the dirtbin and clean the filters. It works - it does everything it claims it can and it does it well. The telescopic tube is a little heavy, the crevice tool is somewhat short, and the hose could be a tad longer.

My vax power plus has caused me nothing but trouble. The power head runs for about 60 seconds before fading out. I have to turn the whole unit off and do something else for 5 minutes before restarting it. I have had it at the repair shop twice since buying it in 10 months. I would not recommend this vacuum cleaner. Go with a more established brand.

The Vax is an established brand, not only has it been around for God knows how long, but this vac is actually branded as a Hoover in the US. Have a look at the new hoovers, they are the same shape and design, just rebaged.

Have one on order, will be picking up next week and reviewing :)

Vax was founded in 1979, it is very established! I'm also looking at buying this vacuum cleaner to upgrade from a very old Vax (R2D2 style)that is just too cumbersome in a small house with stairs. Plus i like the pet brush extra as i have a dog. Godfreys have it on sale so hoping i can find one in stock! Any further reviews would be great.

Very Impressed – Had a Dyson Turbo head vac for around three years, been through two heads at a cost of $149 each and have never been happy although it still works to a point. Just bought this Vax and wow what a machine, it really is worth every penny compared to the Dyson. Everything Non yet
