Vehicle Inspections Australia

Avoid this place!!! Check your dashcam if you were there, you will be SHOCKED by what you see! The receptionist was extremely rude and completely unprofessional. Communication was awful and the service felt chaotic and careless. This did not feel like Australian customer service at all. Absolutely terrible experience!
o Just a warning about using this business the Vehicle Inspection Australia ( VIA ) in Coburg . We needed a road worthy for our car, and we’re happy that they could accommodate us straight away but that’s where the joy stops. When we dropped off the car it had four wheel covers and when we got it home it had three wheel covers. It was a six km… Read more
drive at 1pm. I called the V I A back and asked them if the wheel cover was there and he told me that it wasn’t and my wife must have hit a curb which is why it wasn’t on the car. I asked her if that’s what happened and she told me that was not the case. When I told him this he said that she must have hit a curb l know how to put on a wheel cover and it must of come off due to her driving and to have a look for it. We then retraced her steps and found it on Moreland Road near the John Fawkner Hospital and by the look of it had probably been run over a car. I then called him back and told him where the wheel cover was found and she could not have hit a curb and I think that they should replace the wheel cover. Then he told me that I was trying to scam him. I denied this then was probably driving like a crazy person doing 200 kilometers an hour and I told him the car couldn’t do that speed ( a Volkswagen polo) he replied well 180 kilometers an hour . I replied that there is no way that you could do that speed on Moreland road at that hour. He then became abusive and said that I was a liar and a scammer I left the call at that point. He came up with every improbable excuse and blamed everyone else but more than likely he just made a simple mistake l wonder about the quality of the work they perform if this is the reaction they come up with over a simple wheel cover.
They are not affiliated with any repair shops so you get an unbiased professional roadworthy. Great service and experience and highly recommended
Pleasant experience all round, rang them up, booked it and took it in the next day all done. ✅ Chad was very pleasant and explained everything at the time of the booking. There are no mechanics ……..so no surprises, just a certificate. Highly recommended.
Amazing – Got my car roadworthy here. Easy to book. Very friendly staff.
great service – Booked for 1:00 arrived early and they were ready for me no doctors clinic here.... The guys gave me great advice and as they dont do the worth themselves its honest no motive to make more money by saying things are needing ot be fixed that arnt like some mechnaics. Great service good price highly recommend
Very easy to deal with and helpful. Very content with their service – Have used their services twice over the last few years. Refreshingly uncomplicated and friendly, open-faced service. Very easy to deal with and helpful, no delays. Very content with their service.
5 star roadworthy service, 5 star customer service!!! – These guys are 100% independent and gave me an an absolute unbaised report on what needed to be fixed on my Toyota Corolla. The guy at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. Explained everything in detail. Since they dont do repairs as other roadworthy mechanics you can trust tgem to the max. I highly recommend these guys for roadworthy certificate s. I would never take my vehicles elsewhere.
Go elsewhere – They are pleasant but failed my car for a fault that 4 other roadworthy places said they would have ignored as it was so small and did not affect the safety of the vehicle, passengers or pedestrians. So if you want to get a realistic roadworthy go elsewhere.
Great service for an affordable price – Took the car for RWC and in hours time work was done without any hassle, happily recommend for others, bonus with a great coffee shop next door while you wait.
Honest, fast and cheap RWC – I found VIA through a blog post they did on roadworthiness of windscreens. I was selling my 86 and required a RWC and was previously led to believe my windscreen would almost certainly need to be replaced. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this wasn't the case and my car was a simple sign off. Their unbiased assessment of the cars… Read more
roadworthiness and convenient booking system (only took 50mins!) and low price easily make these guys the best choice when it comes to needing a quick roadworthy. Highly recommended!
Vehicle Inspections Australia - firm but fair comprehensive assessment of vehicle for R.W.C – VIA are located at 160 High Street Preston, Melbourne. Efficiently run business, independent vehicle inspections, generates consumer confidence in outcomes. Yesterday, I as a seller of a 2002 sedan, and also the purchaser attended at VIA by appointment booked on-line with ease for an Express Inspection ( 50 minutes). As the reception area did not… Read more
have a coffee or water machine, we walked to a nearby cafe. When the car was inspected, I received an sms to collect the car. The only items requiring rectification related to lighting, missing or dead globes, and non-ADR approved day-time running lights fitted to the car: they had to be removed.
After rectifying the faulted items, I booked in on-line for a 15 minute re-inspection around lunchtime the following day. This was completed within 10 minutes and we were free to go. By having both the buyer and seller able to ask questions of the licensed vehicle tester mechanic, it gave both of us confidence in the accuracy of the inspection, but also in each other as consumers.
VIA also offer a full comprehensive mechanical review of your car, which addresses those items not covered by a RWC inspection. In the passed I have used the RACV for this type of inspection.
Whilst this is a small work shop with only one hoist, it is run efficiently and effectively with great ICT communication by email and sms. Hopefully we will see more VIA inspection sites open around Melbourne!
Great Service from new owner – I herd about Vehicle Inspections Australia from a friend, who said it was under new management and great place to get an honest roadworthy. Unlike other businesses, Vehicle Inspections Australia only inspects your vehicle so they don't pick on customers for ridiculous flaws on their vehicle in hope of more business to fix it afterwards. They just… Read more
perform good honest inspections and look for unsafe flaws around the vehicle. Which I was very pleased about.
Their online booking system made it easy for me to organize a day and time for my vehicle to inspected and the new owners customer service was A1!
He was very friendly and welcoming, and happily explained everything to me that I was unsure about in my registration process.
Great job Guys!
I will defiantly be recommending you to my friends.

Cheap Roadworthy Certifcates – I was looking for a cheap, independent inspection for my vehicle - worrying about garages trying to overcharge me left right & center. I found Vehicle Inspections Australia through a google search and a few mentions in whirlpool so i decided to check it out for the good price I opted for the $99 express, no issues with the certificate or the… Read more
car.
I saw the previous review about the customer service - I agree the customer service guy could have been friendly and "gone the extra mile" but honestly I was looking for a cheap, independent service & thats what I got which I'm more than happy with
I've already recommended my friends to their service & they were happy too
5 stars for fast & reliable service - cheers
They will yell at you for asking questions – [name removed] at Vehicle Inspections Australia, I'm sorry to inform you but you require a personality transplant! It is entirely normal for people to ask polite questions about the service your business provides. It is expected that you should provide responses consisting of more than one word. If you are uncomfortable with being flexible with… Read more
customers and taking a short amount of time to answer reasonable questions may I suggest that a customer facing role is not for you.
I am giving this business one star because of poor customer service - and it is well deserved. When I am paying money in exchange for a service I expect that the details of that service will be explained to me politely and in full. It's also just much nicer to deal with people who are friendly and personable - something which I found to be very much lacking at VIA. I phoned to determine the outcome of a roadworthy check and [name removed] informed me that two of the tyres on my vehicle had failed. I work full time and have a very busy life and was aware that the time frame for re inspection was only seven days so wanted to act quickly to resolve the problem. But first I required proof. I requested details of the location of the wear on the tyre and photos showing the measurements. [name removed] provided either one word or very short answers which volunteered no information and made me suspicious he had something to hide, so I probed further. This made [name removed] angry. He raised his voice to a level that was audible to my colleagues at work, he told me my questions were pointless and that if I wanted answers to these questions I would have to wait until I came to pick the vehicle up. He declared that if I wanted answers prior to this I should have paid extra for the express check. He asked me to repeat myself a number of times and then laughed at me when I did. He eventually agreed to look into it and call me back - I did not receive a call back.
When I arrived to pick the vehicle up [name removed] was laying on the couch in the waiting room with headphones on - obviously too busy to call me back! I had to remind him that I still required him to demonstrate the location and measurements of the defect which I must say he did do without complaint. His attitude at this time was much changed from when we spoke on the phone and far more agreeable. However I don't believe that this makes up for the ridiculous and childish outburst I received from him on the phone earlier that day. For that reason I won't be recommending this business to anyone and will tell anyone who will listen to avoid it at all costs. Very frustrating experience and totally uncalled for.
