Bit disappointed. Followed directions re reinforcing cloth. Looked great but come back next day and blistering from poor adhesion I assume. The product says sprayable but unfortunately that makes it a bit “runny” so hard to get any thickness with a brush. I have applied several coats to achieve desired thickness so time will tell.
Follow-up · Got follow up from Versaseal after top coat also had bubbles. Problem may have been not fully cured even though 4 days lapsed. Rubber roof was always wet due to dew in morning so perhaps should have done it in summer. It has settled and looks good now. Time will tell.
Much better and cheaper products out there. Attracts dirt and hard to keep clean . Easily damaged. But customer service
Hi Michael, Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the product wasn’t the right fit for your expectations. VersEseal Rapid Build is a flexible waterproofing membrane designed to accommodate movement and prevent cracking, which means it does remain on the softer side. For this reason, we recommend light foot traffic and care is taken with furniture and heavy point loads on coated surfaces. We do appreciate your comments and wish you all the best moving forward. Kind regards, Amanda
Fantastic DIY Waterproofing of Motorhome Roof – I have just spent a month (mainly due to winter weather) resealing the EPDM (rubber) roof of our motorhome. Before deciding to do this I read various forums looking for positive reviews of products and finally settled on VersEseal Rapid Build with Geo Fabric and VersEseal Top Coat by LRM Products P/L. My first comment would have to be that the support I received from all the staff I spoke to at LRM Products was amazing. I must have had more than 15 contacts by both phone and email and have been left with an incredible feeling of support and the desire to see me have a successful outcome. The actual application of the product was fairly simple and surprisingly forgiving both in application and clean up. I sealed over all the screws and joints intentionally after replacing the roof hatches and repairing a few cracks in the plastic bumper. I know that access to this in the future will require cutting into the waterproof membrane and paint, cleaning it up and redoing that area, but that is a price I am prepared to pay for a good seal. I also had a good idea what to expect in terms of the finish quality not being dead smooth (it's the roof so this is ok by me) but it was better than I expected. Being water based (with the associated benefits to the environment) I also knew that it would take longer to dry than other products. What I hadn't expected at all was how much stronger my roof would feel after the application. Both products have elastic properties which are ideal for any movement but I didn't expect them to also feel as solid. Having only completed the job in the last week, I obviously can't say how it will last but at this stage it really looks like it will do the business of protecting the van from the elements for years to come and has breathed life into an older roof without the need to replace it. If your ok to work safely at heights and like me couldn't wait for an opening at a repair centre, then with a little common sense and care, this is a very achievable DIY task which can return good results. Great product from a great company, happy to recommend both.
With over a year of road testing, I'm happy to say the roof has performed as well as expected. No leaks and it still feels nice and strong.
Hi JustAnotherOpinion, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a detailed review and update after over a year of use. We’re thrilled to hear the roof is still performing well and that you’ve had no leaks after extensive road testing. Your comments about the support from our team, the ease of application, and the renewed strength of the roof are greatly appreciated. You also did an excellent job explaining the realities of a flexible waterproofing system and the importance of taking the time to apply it properly, especially during winter conditions. Thank you again for your support and recommendation. We really appreciate it. Kind regards, Amanda

Hi Retiree, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re sorry to hear you’ve had some issues with blistering. Blistering is usually related to moisture, contamination, or trapped air beneath the coating. As VersEseal Rapid Build is water based, the substrate must be completely clean and fully dry prior to application. Rapid Build is sprayable for commercial applications, however for most DIY applications we generally recommend applying it by brush or roller. It behaves quite differently to standard paint — you don’t want to dip the brush and wipe most of the product back off again. Rapid Build should be applied generously to achieve the required membrane build. The product should be the consistency of a thick cream, so the aim is to lay it on rather than spread it out too thinly. If you would like some assistance with your project, please send some photos and details of the substrate and application process through to us at info@lrmproducts.com.au or give us a call on 1300 891 576. We’d be more than happy to help troubleshoot the issue and provide advice on the best way forward. Kind regards, Amanda
