Works well. Quiet operation and delivers 4L of pure drinking water each day. Overall, delivers what was digned for. I would have given it a stronger high score but a number of CONS: 1. Water Collector jug is plastic. Not a good hygienic option like glass or aluminium even if the plastic may be rated BPA free; 2. Poor ergonomic design in major… Read more
parts such as, dust protector has no instruction how to use and not intuitive, and hits the nozzle when operating. Switches are place in hard to reach locations. The reset button should be pressed to start distillation but distillation happens anyway despite pressing the reset. 3. Operating Manual is difficult to follow. Written by engineers for engineers. Written in paragraph form; better in billets and step by step process; figures have no pabels hence hard to follow. Some instructions are absent—like where to place carbon filter 4. Upper motor cover is hard to remove for replenishing or cleaning. 5. Consumption is a bot hgher than the company-stated 750kw power.
PROS:
1. Good and secure packaging; 2. Reasonable pricing 3. Quiet operation.
Manufacturing fault rendered distiller unusable. Company won't do anything other than sell you another distiller. Ive been using distillers for 10 to 12 years now. This one Worked well until warranty expired. During this time a problem was developing, something from the base was starting to press into bottom of stainless boiling chamber. In time… Read more
it penetrated the stainless chamber then the distiller became unusable as it was leaking water from a hole in the boiler through the base. This is the second time it's happened with a vevor distiller, first time with other distiller I thought if was a freakish abnormality but now with a second vevor distiller, I realise it's a deliberate built-in manufacturing fault if it's happened twice to me, it must have happened to others as well. All readers dont let this happen to you. The company doesn't look after its customers. Only expects you to buy a replacement. don't want to waste your money, don't buy vevor distillers. Purchase a better quality distiller from another company
Model YMK4022. I find the quality fantastic and the water is amazing, comes with four carbon filters and a detergent...and a great quality 4Ltr GLASS jug, informative booklet on how to clean and use...(they loose a star for AI first part for… Read more
response then they take 48hrs to reply to any questions you may have even if its related to your original ?) I purchased mine thru Bunnings (only available) Online So I certainly hope they back the product should I encounter any problems, as quite a few seem to have ....
Follow-up · It's actually very quiet, not as loud as a kettle boiling .. no massive hike in my power bill, (can't see that it would use that much...) it runs for about 5/6 hrs tho. Easy to clean, rinse out the dirty stuff, just add a litre of water, 2 Tablespoons of Citric acid run machine for 20mins empty and rinse with clean water dry out with paper… Read more
Born to Fail – Worked well until a couple of weeks after the 12 month warranty ran out, then wouldn't raise temperature above 58C. eBay seller was hopeless, kept brushing me off. XCover keeps demanding so much information it's becoming a waste of time trying to get a warranty replacement. Won't buy this brand again, especially after seeing the similar stories on other review sites. Show details
No nasty stuff in my water – Amazing that i’m not drinking the nasty stuff from the tap. Apparently the water ins nsw The contaminants - perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) - have been found in tap water in every state and territory, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age reported. So we got this thing and it’s brillant Show details
Much improved with time – These units have come a long way. My first Air Still was from Still Spirits back in approx 2005. Flimsy carry handle, no temperature control, no timer control, and expensive. The Air Still from Vevor has a carry handle that can be used. A very simple to use temperature control. The digital display easily seen and displays set temperature and… Read more
actual temperature in selectable C or F. Works as desired, with a timer that allows 4 litres of Mash to be distilled over a predetermined time period, then automatically turn off. Comes with a Charcoal Filter container/discharge nozzle. A great Glass Jug with a pouring point, lid, and seal. When water is scarce or expensive, then a Vevor Air Still could well be your answer. At around $150 the Vevor 4L Water Distiller is a bargain at a third of the price of the virtually same unit from Brew Shops selling the Still Spirits version. Certainly the Unit can be used to distil water, used to cut your alcohol to a desired percentage. I felt the price was so reasonable, I opted to pay a couple of dollars extra for the Ruby Red Finished unit, looks classy, to me anyway. The Glass jug is a mile ahead of the plastic container. Personally I am utilising to actually remove alcohol from Cask Wine. Do it yourself alcohol free [almost] Dolce Rosso.
Horrendous Product and Ignorant Staff – Distiller cheap and dangerous. Hot water fizzing out over cord. Sent many images and video to robot replies. Finally asked if Vevor would stand by their product. They disappeared. These companies just keep whamming people because they can slip into the shadows. There is no way of dealing with them in a business-like manner. They refuse to acknowledge anything.
Cheap and Nasty – Bought this distiller and it had issues from the beginning. Not only did it come with very limited instructions it would cut out before it even got hot. It seems to be a problem with other users. The supplier offered to send me some device that would stop it tripping but that sounded a off to me. Anyway they offered me half the price I paid for it to go away and keep the machine. I will definately not buy another product from Vevor. Show details
Dodgy product and even dodgier company – I boughtbmy distiller in August 2022. It did a great job up until March 2023 where it started to leak.water everywhere. When I turned it on I got a little shock and it tripped the power. I'm so grateful for home RCD switches or I would have been electrocuted! I reported this to Vevor and they told me to open up the bottom and put heat proof… Read more
silicone in it... um, what? I replied stating them in accordance with Australian law I am owed a replacement or refund. They came back stating they will send a new stainless steel tank. That's all great but the bottom electrics have been compromised from the water thus tripping the power. They then offered me a $30 refund, when I paid $110 for this product. Steer clear!
