This thermometer is always off. No matter how well it is used, there is a variable of +/- 1.5 degrees, which renders it useless. It also stopped working at all very soon (a few months) after buying it. Throwing your money into the wind is more useful. Show details

Do not waste your money! – After a week of 2 and 4 year old reading high temps found out this thermometer was nearly a full degree hotter than it should have been. Tested multiple doctor appointments and no fever yet high all the time with this. Used it on myself and no matter what I was technically hypothermic according this. Tried having it a room temp for minimum… Read more

30min, making sure kids and myself weren't sweaty, been in cold/hot etc and still got temps varying nearly a full degree. Couldn't return as it showed normal when used on adults at chemist. Got an expensive ear one and sure enough it's consistent and nearly full degree lower on the small kids (accurate).

Seems for some people it is accurate but when used on kids (who we got it for) it's just awful.

crap. Do not buy. Its a toy – Model VNT200 sold by Chemist Warehouse. Absolute rubbish. Manual and reality are not the same. Its a toy. It is crap. The beep function does not work unless you reset it every time and then its may not work. Each reading can vary a fair bit. Even taken a minute apart. Its crap. Show details

Confusing – Multiple readings!! From 36.6 to 38.9 on my daughter! I’m very confused from normal to high fever what should I trust. I also took her to emergency but the next reading is green?

Inaccurate – Personally I think both in the image give bad readings. Forehead temp has never been high when under tongue has been. I don’t trust it Sometimes I use both always get different readings then do an average out of 3 readings. Yes I’m buying an in ear different brand now because this is just silly Show details

This Product Must Be Reviewed or Recalled it is Faulty – Buyer be aware this is a convenient but not an accurate product. Do not make the same mistake as us. Buy a traditional thermometer this product needs to be recalled. Show details

NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE – Firstly when they are working as they should the concept is great. A non-invasive, easy to interpret, and immediate temperature reading. However, I'm now onto my second Vicks forehead thermometer as the first one came up with an error message (and was replaced by Vicks) within a month of purchase. The second one gives the same reading without… Read more

regard for who it's used on. Always 37.3. My child obviously had a temp(burning up and as was hot to touch). I always take two or three readings incase the position is not 100% correct AND I always use it on myself for a couple of times to get a comparison. These inaccurate readings can give you a false, safe temperature reading and is dangerous. Therefore not fit for purpose and should be recalled

Worse buy ever! – We just bought a vicks forehead thermometer about 10 days ago as my son got fever and from the beginning it's showing that he has high fever . For that reason I was giving him medication. It's been 10 days and still showing same temperature. I went 2 times to doctor, did covid test, urine test and every results was normal. I was sooo… Read more

stressed because temperature was high everytime. I couldn't go to work even for that. Then this morning we went to doctor again then she asked to change the thermometer cause when she measures the temp ,its coming normal. Then we bought another digital under arm thermometer. And this one is showing normal temperature. Now my question is what vicks would do as for their freaking faulty we were stressed out as well as we gave my kid medication for nothing!

Waste of money – It is literally always presenting as error when I try to use it! Absolutely useless! We were desperate and bought this peak covid in 2020 and I’ve literally just wasted $100! Show details

Dangerous - please take off the market vicks – My baby had a very high fever and it read only 37 on this, today it was telling me his temperate was 34 and I’m sure he has a fever again. We often only take young babies in to be checked if they have a fever, so this is a highly dangerous product.  Show details

Different readings – Easy to use, but gives multiple different readings all over forehead. Not what you want for young babes. Great concept but no accuracy or confidence in readings. Would not recommend to buy. Show details

Inaccurate readings – Temp keeps saying around 36 degrees but sure Bub had a fever. Took her to doc to compare with doc’s thermometre and it was 1 degree off. Bub had a low grade fever over the next few days but the thermometer kept reading between 36-37 degrees. Not accurate enough especially when we have a baby. Will not recommend.

Worst thermometer ever – When room temperature is cold or hot error message appears. Can’t use this thermometer at that time. Useless, as I want to use it at any time day or night when we are sick. Tried to return it to Chemist Warehouse but of course the store temperature is regulated and it works. Show details

Expensive, useless and dangerous – Inaccurate reading every time. Should be taken off the market., it’s dangerous. It was saying my babies temperature was normal but in fact it was quite high. Don’t waste your money. Show details

Inaccurate and dangerous – Purchased this to use on my three young children. It gives very inaccurate readings. I tested it against an underarm thermometer and the readings varied up to 2 degrees. Terrible product and should be recalled I want my money back Show details

Not accurate by over a degree. Not consistent and therefore dangerous – We had a GP take a reading on his equipment and compared it immediately with this thermometer. It was showing around 1 degree celcious less on the Vicks thermometer on 3 different people. Not reliable at all and therefore can cause serious harm.

Not even close to good enough – Very very inaccurate readings. Had my 2yo daughter showing as 35.7c (so pretty much dead) and she had a temp of 39.5!!!! Unbelievable. Don't waste $60 on this. And if you have, I'm sorry you'll endure the same pain as we did.  Show details

Needs to be recalled – Disgusting this is still being sold. Will use 3 times in a row, exactly the same position & get 3 vastly different results. Purchased to use on my new baby & its terrifying that he could be sick & I might doubt myself because of this terrible product. Wish I seen these reviews before I purchased. These need to be recalled & refunded. Show details

Inaccurate – I had an obvious fever and was shaking, the thermometer said my temperature was 36 degrees. When I got to the hospital it was 40! This product is a waste of money and incredibly inaccurate. Show details

Absolutely Rubbish - Product should be banned! – I took this thermometer to the doctor's as I had my own doubts about its credibility. When the doctor measured the temperature of my 1 year old on his own thermometer, it was showing 40 degrees C. I measured my kid at the same time using this thermometer, it was showing 38 degrees C. A difference of 2 degrees is a lot of a fully grown adult, let alone a 1 year old. This product should be BANNED. Show details

Do not buy this product - it could endanger your child's life – I bought this thermometer two days ago and tried to use it as directed. It would not register above 36.1 degrees which is not even a normal adult temperature. If this was used on a sick child or baby it would give the parents a false sense of security and endanger the child's life. It should be removed from Chemists' shelves ! Show details

Absolutely useless – My three year old is very hot to touch, has general malaise. Because it was 5am we decided to buy a thermometer whilst waiting for the doctors to open. We are away from home. Never have I used a more useless thermometer. It varies by 1.5 degrees and the reading is different every time. No choice but to take a trip to the hospital. Thanks Vicks for creating a product that does not do it’s intended purpose - what a scam!

Should be recalled immediately! – Received two completely different readings when scanning from the middle of the forehead to the right side of the head and scanning from the middle again to the left side. Temperature completely wrong – Our babies temp was showing 39 degrees using the forehead thermometer and called the health line who told us to take our baby straight to hospital to find out his actual temp was 37. After seeing so many bad reviews online this product should not still be aloud on chemist shelves

Inaccurate and possibly unlawful – This product should be referred to the ACCC, and anyone who has bought it should take it back and demand a refund. The product does not do what it is meant to do. It is especially worse considering the main users are carers, monitoring the health and wellbeing of babies and children! Such variances in readings are the difference between going to… Read more

Malfunction!! – I paid over $60 for this thermometer, I only used it 2 times. Bought it for my Family Day Care, thought it would be more reliable then the other thermometers seeing I paid so much. Changed the batteries hoping that was the problem, well it wasn’t. I’m still getting an error message. I find it is due to malfunction. Terrible!!!

Not working – My child at this moment has a fever. Possibly west nile virus. I need a thermometer that works. Shame on you for selling faulty products! I hope that you do not get sued for negligence. I now have to go and buy a new thermometer that works. 50 dollars wasted.

Awful product – We have a three year old and have two (not one but two) of your forehead touch thermometers. At first we thought they were great. That’s why we invested in another one and a third one for the grandparents. However in November last year our little boy got sick, this was the start of our unravel with your thermometers. At first we just took the fact… Read more

the thermometers (yep both in our house) gave a false temp reading and took it with a grain of salt. However the inaccuracy of readings continued. We’ve changed the batteries ect and continued with the benefit of the doubt. However my very last straw came last night. You see my little boy felt hot, but both your thermometers told us his temperature was normal 36.7 to be precise. Fast forward an hour when our little boy woke up struggling to breathe and hot to touch. Again your thermometers told us his temp was 36.9. We had to call an ambulance as our three year old was struggling for air due to croup. An ambulance arrived within 5 minutes and immediately tested his temperature - 38.8. This is where my complete distrust in your products now comes in. How can two of your products give false readings?? Our little boy could have convulsed from such a high temperature, but we were none the wiser as each thermometer on seperate occasions gave us the okay for temperature. These products have cost us close to $160 all up and not one can actually provide us with an accurate reading. I’ve since thrown every Vick’s product I own in to the bin. I’m disgusted that a so called trusted children’s brand can fail within such short time frames.

It's just ok, but temp. unit only in Celsius – Hi just brought it a couple of weeks ago. had consistent result on 3 different people. BUT temp. range is only from 16c-40c. i was hoping for the range to be higher. also it only displays temp in Celsius and there is no option to change it to Fahrenheit. it's such a basic thing expected in a digital thermometer.

only giving 1 star because you cant do 0! – bought this for convenience. showed my son as being betwen 35.5 and 36C. 3 different readings each time. wasn't convinced it was accurate as he felt hot so used the ear thermometer and he was 39! this is plane dangerous and should be removed from shelves immediately! do yourself a favour dont buy!

Do not buy – It beeps too loud to use while the baby is sleeping which is the main reason I bought it. You have to move it from the forehead to the ear over three seconds so of course the baby tries to grab it if it’s awake. The readings are not very accurate. Waste of money.

It's rubbish. Don't buy it. Inaccuracy is dangerous – Taking my temperature twice within 30 seconds of each reading can vary by .5 degrees. Who knows if any of the temperatures are even vaguely accurate. An expensive thermometer from Vicks - I assumed it would be good. The inaccuracy is just plain dangerous. I agree with others. it should be withdrawn from the market. It is not fit for purpose… Read more
