Bad fuel hose ! – I have had this mower for 12 months and other than it’s sometimes difficult to start , it was something I could live with as it was doing the job. Last week in getting prepared to cut the grass, I had fuel leaking from the engine and at first glance thought it was the clamping devices on the fuel line from the tank coming loose. On closer inspection I could see a number cracks had appeared on the hose. One of which being the source of fuel leak. This mower is only 12 months old and stored under cover. How does this happen ? If I replace with the same standard hose the same will happen in 12 months or do I replace the hose with a stronger type and void my warranty ? As a life long Victa owner , I find this both disappointing an distressing , Never again .

More time getting fixed than mowing – I purchased this SP mower 2 years ago. I have a sloping block and need the self propelled function. In its first year the SP failed and the mower ended up in the workshop for over a month during the busiest mowing period (I only need to mow 6mths p.a so this was 1/6th of its useful time). A year later and the same thing has happened but this time the part took 2 months to be sent to the workshop so 1/3rd of its useful time gone. The mower will be out of warrantee soon and there is no guarantee the problem will not continue. I've brought this to Victa's attention but now the problem is confirmed they have stopped corresponding. Very disappointing.

Easy Mowing – A great mower that is easy to manoeuvre and operate. Starts very easily each time, and being self propelled it is easy to move around on the grass. Have a fairly big yard so if I am using the catcher and the grass is fairly long it does have to be emptied a couple of times. Seems fairly good on the fuel so can get a couple of uses out of it before I need to refuel. A lot of my lawn area is quite hard but the mower seems to move around on it no problem. The only downside I find is I needed someone to come and help me get it out of the boot of my car as it is a bit too heavy for me and the boot on my car is fairly deep.
