Appalling customer service – Like the others on this website, the wheels have broken on my mower too. Victa dealer said replacements take up 3 months to come in. No standard wheels exist. Called customer service and the woman I spoke with was so belittling and rude that I couldn't wait to get off the phone. was told that wheels are "easy" to get replaced. To just call… Read more
bunnings and get them to special order it in. I wasn't going to argue with her about free replacements as her tone suggested she wasn't very empathetic. Victa, you're welcome to send me free wheels or replace the mower
was good – Had this mower since 2017 then this happened whilst in use the rear wheel broke off and very hard to find replacement special order is $40 for one wheel as not a standard size
3yrs on and Need to Buy 3rd Replacement Rear Wheel – Just as with the vast majority of other reviews, great start, great cut - but the wheels are disgraceful and (if I can still get them) I will shortly be ordering my 3rd replacement rear wheel in 3yrs. Show details
Good machine, but useless now that the wheels broke off – Purchased this mower in 2018, has been great until the common defect took hold of my machine. The infamously cheap wheels fell off on my machine too. I called Victa as advised and they told me to take it to the nearest dealer to check the serial number whether it's still under warranty. The machine is 2 years old and they can't check? Anyways,… Read more
will most likely be told that it's out of warranty and will be made to buy the same old crappy wheels. If anyone has an aftermarket replacement idea, do let me know. I will not be buying a Victa product again if this is how they treat their customers - if a company does not stand behind their product they deserve all that comes their way.
EDIT: Called Victa back as the dealer wasn't able to check the warranty, got a new person on the phone and they are sending me the wheel replacement free of charge. The warranty is 4 years on the machine. Hope it's a better product.
EDIT2: I waited and nothing came, called Victa again and they can't locate a customer by their name or a phone number (what kind of gong show are they running), either way, they are sending me to the same dealer who previously told me they cannot help me. I'm getting a run-around. This is crap. Never buy Victa!
Horrible and expensive experience – Bought it from Bunnings last year .. while working the engine got ceased.. can’t pull to on it as well . It stopped while working . Now Bunnings is saying you hit something on ground .. it’s not covered in warranty.. it still got 6 months warranty.. and they are saying it’s better to buy a new one instead of repair. What should i do?! Show details
Wheels have fallen off Literally – Purchased from Bunnings. First mistake. Worked well for the first 2 months when back wheels start cracking. Returned to Bunnings didn't want to know me. Went to the local Victa Dealer (should have gone there first) (& bought a Masport or a Honda) Victa dealer was terribly rude & condescending as we did not by from them. Purchase a new set of… Read more
back wheels for the same thing to happen again 2 months later. Emailed Victa funnily enough no reply. Waste of money to maintain our small backyard. Still be using it except for the back wheels.
great mower but dissapointing with construction – Great lawnmower/mulcher but back wheel fell off today.Purchased 28.10 2017 at Bunnings Burnie, has had little use as we only have tiny lawn.Just looking at reviews and it seem to be a common problem being made in china and of plastic. Will be taking the wheel back to Bunnings Devonport tomorrow for a replacement of some kind. Wheels? Can’t find replacements – I have damaged rear wheels that can not be replaced anywhere in Cairns. Was told they are no longer being made for replacement. Great mower but shocking plastic wheels and seems to be a minor problem with this model. Where can I buy new wheels? Not even 3 years old.... Show details

Terrible Build Quality Wheels have just sheered off after only a year – Purchased from Bunnings in 2018 and have found the build quality of this mower poor. Rear wheels have both shredded off. Cheap plastic used. Not happy! Would like someone from Victa Customer Service to contact me to address these issues. Show details

The wheels are falling off – Bought 18 months ago and only does 300m2 of manicured lawns weekly, so very little work and both back wheels are shot. One has sheered off (metal spindle comes away from plastic wheel) and the other is ready to go. Very bad product and very disappointed. Show details
3 Wheel Drive – It used to be a great lawn mower when it had 4 wheels. It's pretty slow going now that I only have 3. On a positive note the motor is solid, always starts first go. In 14 months there is no rust and have never had to empty the catcher. Just need to get some aftermarket wheels before getting it offroad again. Show details
Great mower. Horrible wheels! – Mower worked really well for a few months until the wheels fell off! Seems to be a common issue. Perhaps Victa should consider a product recall? Unfortunately the fault with the wheels has meant I will now avoid all Victa products. I doubt this model is still for sale, but if you do happen to be considering buying one, the simple advice is don't. Show details
Flimsy Rear WHEELS – Contact Victa direct and they will send 2 new wheels out to an agent close by to replace bad design flimsy built rear wheels. My right rear wheel tore at thin plastic web in wheel within 12 months of purchase. I only just contacted Victa today and parts are on there way. Show details

Both rear wheels fell off! – What a piece of garbage. The engine is excellent, it cuts and mulches well and is not too loud. I have had four Lawn Masters which mowed a five acre caravan park. After many, many years of hard use, one blew the crankshaft, my fault, little servicing, the other rusted through the chassis after being left outside. I bought the Rapid Mulcher and… Read more
gave the old bombs to my neighbour. Using the chassis from one and the motor from the other he had the hybrid going in a couple of hours. Today I had to go and borrow it to finish my lawn. PLEASE take note Victa the great name you created turning grass into lawn is in danger, the wheels are falling off your great brand!!!
Victa - The wheels on the mower no longer go round and round – Brought a 19in Rapid Mulcher 1st one 29/10/2017 and about 3 months later the back wheels broke away from the boss, wasting my time and fuel etc I had to go to another Bunning's as original one had no replacement(top marks to Bunning's). Now the same thing has happened. I had a Victa 50th anniversary given to me from my brother and when I decided… Read more
to upgrade my mate got the old one - wish I had kept it as it is still going strong.
From the other reviews it looks to a common problem and What are you doing about it Victa?????.
Wheel fell off – Loved the quietness of this machine until the wheel fell off, thin plastic hubs on a lawnmower. Can't see the point in waiting weeks for a Victa salesperson to maybe replace the wheel with another substandard item. Obviously the cheap (for them) import is worth more than their reputation. Please save yourself a headache and buy something else.. Show details
Cheap Plastic Wheels – Not happy at all. The wheels are made of cheap plastic. Had to wait 2 weeks for replacements to arrive, as they had run out of stock at the warehouse. Should have looked at the reviews but needed a mower in a hurry. I have only ever purchase Victa Mowers. Not any more !!!! Show details
Works Well – Starts good mows & mulches well bit concerned with quality of wheels. Time will tell with the wheels which flex to easy. Easy to start and fuel efficient compared to our old mower. Only used mulcher a couple of times but happy with results. Would have got 5 stars if wheels were better quality. Show details
Cheap wheels - Disappointed – Very disappointed. Back wheels broke after second time mowing the lawn. I expected better from Victa. I’ve had to order new wheels. Previous mower was over 20 years old & had no problems with the wheels. I would have spent a bit extra but it was the week before Christmas & we needed it. Show details
Fantastic value – For the price engine is great, enjoy the 19" cut rather than 18" less time mowing. wheels have been ok but i am watching. Wife mows without problem cant go wrong 500E engine with ReadyStart. wife likes color and styling she says it looks mean and ready for the hard yards and it delivers. Thanks Show details
Wheel problem too – I bought this one end of 2106. After using twice, I found out wheel was broken a little bit so put the super glue and used 3 times more then now It's totally broken. I was searching to fix the wheel for the Victa Rapid Mulcher 881873 and I found the review. I was surprised so many people have the same problem. Some review said called… Read more
bunnings to replace so I just called the Bunnings today and asked them if they can do wheel replacement. They said I can bring the lawn mower then they will check if I'm still in warrants. I should contact Bunnings right away when I found wheel issues. I didn't think about that I can call Bunnings to ask for further action.
Wheels are so cheap quality. Hope I can get wheel replacement from Bunnings.
Updated: I took it to Bunnings and they said I don't need to bring here. Y_Y was really hard to take it back.
Anyway, long story short, If anyone has a problem with the back wheel you can directly contact to Victa customer service and they will send new wheel. They already know the wheel problem. Had to wait 1 month to get the new wheel and changed today New one looks stronger than old one. Hopefully all good now!!
Cheap plastic wheels – I personally have found this victa lawn mower a little heavy to push. The engine appears to be a quality engine. However the wheels are cheap plastic and after less than seven months use the back wheel snapped off completely and the other wheel is looking a little dodgy. Took it back to Bunnings today and they are sending it off for repair. Would not purchase it again or recommend it to anyone who has a large area to mow. Show details

Victa wheel problems – The two back wheels are falling apart to the point left wheel hits the base and locks up..mower is a few months old and travelled under 1000 metres and is inoperable.. our third and last victa as we go through crap to get wheels replaced on it..first time I used it neighbour commented on wheel angle. It is good – For the price it is very good. It has both mowing and mulching capabilities. Easy to put together. Pulling the cord is as difficult as other mowers are and I say this because I have bone softening disease making these things difficult for me to do and this is why I deduct one star. Overall it works very well. Fuel efficient. Multiple mowing levels has excellent heights. I would recommend this product. Show details
Wheel fell off after using it twice! – Only used the mower twice and front right wheel broke off- couldn’t use it and as it was a limiter edition it was impossible to get a new wheel unless special ordered! I went to special orders desk at Bunnings and was told it was a recall and that I should take it back for a full refund. As I am not close to a Bunnings store this was a big… Read more
inconvenience and now I'm left without a mower again. I do not recommend this model, however I have always bought victa brand and have never had any issues, so just this model not so good.
Average mulcher – We bought this recently and so far our experience with this is average. This mulcher is difficult to manoeuvre, not as easy as other victa mowers. Really need effort to push this mulcher. Also this mulcher requires petrol unlike some of the new models which has both electric and petrol options. Positive is that it's easy to start and cuts lawn well. Show details
Wheels broke in about 2 months – After using it for 1 day a week over a 9 week period the wheels snapped of. The wheels are made out of cheep thin plastic and obviously can't handle the weight when catcher is full. The mowet itself is great for the price, just unfortunate they used rubbish for the wheels. Hopefully this is not the track that victa is going down Show details
Wheels broke in 3 months – EDIT: I've had to take away three stars to my original review because the back wheels broke after 3 months of use. They are made out of thin soft plastic and I could see them warping during use. Bunnings replaced the mower with the same model and said it may have just been a defective batch. But on first inspection, the wheels feel exactly like… Read more
the old ones. Will keep updated. I considered replacing them with better quality after market wheels, but the sizes aren't standard and I haven't been able to find any that would fit.
ORIGINAL POST: I've had this mower for two months now, use it every weekend without any problems. It was $399 and seems to be exclusive to Bunnings. The build quality of the body is excellent with no wobbles or creaks. The motor is a Briggs & Stratton which is pretty standard for Victa. The wheels is the only part of the mower that feels cheap.
It comes with fabric mesh catcher which I did not think i would like, but works well and is easier to handle when emptying into the bin. It also comes with a mulch plug which is really just a piece of plastic to push the grass back into the blades.
All in all, I'm very happy with this lawn mower. It was the cheapest 19 inch mower available from a reputable brand at the time, and it hasn't missed a beat.
