Great mop – Was using a Bissell Crosswave for my floating floors, absolute rubbish. Switched to the Vileda Mop and find it fantastic. Leaves a streak free clean using 3 inches of hot tap water in a square bucket and a couple of capfuls of Methylated Spirits. I first vacuum the floor and change the water halfway through the clean. The 'ridge marks' other… Read more

reviewers refer to disappear when the floor dries. Not sure how you could operate the mop unless the handle is facing the floor. I passed the Crosswave onto my son and he loves it. Go figure.

This mop works when you read the instructions!! – Not sure how or why most reviewers hate this mop as the the Super Squeeze isn’t just a normal mop but a squeegee and is actually very easy to use and is the most effective and efficient mop when used correctly. The mop head is like a super absorbent squeegee or chamois and like any chamois they need to be fully squeezed to remove most water to… Read more

work. (You don’t clean your car with a dripping wet chamois)

Instructions did say to use the mop with the handle facing down (a little different to the sponge type mops) but it works and works well.

Unlike sponge mops it doesnt leave streaks or water behind and cleans all hard flooor surfaces, tile, timber etc and for floating timber floors this is the only mop you could or should use! (Too much water from sponge style mops will damage your floor).

This keeps my timber floors clean and streak free - a must for anyone who loves a shiny timber floor.

Oh and by the way the super squeeze is safe to use on any floor as it doesn’t leave any water residue behind so you don’t get slip hazards.

Perhaps this mop is not for everyone, for me it is fantastic. It is solid and if you know how it wor – Perhaps this mob is not for everyone, for me it is fantastic. If you know how the mob works you don’t want another model. This mob is ver solid and easy to use. Only one thing is annoying, to find an refill

They could not have possibly tested this before releasing on the market – The head keeps coming off. Vileda sounds quite Swedish but is actually rubbish. The company should be sued. The product is a complete fraud.Apparently lots of others have taken the trouble to express the same thoughts. The lack of response by the company says it all Thieves.

Looks great but too many flaws – I purchased this because the handle and squeezing mechanism looked very well made. They are very sturdy. The main problems I have with it are that the head will not stay on, I found the spare and checked how I was fitting it. I am doing everything it says on the packet. But it just comes of as soon as I start to mop the floor. Also, the sponge… Read more

drags, it doesn't glide evenly. So it kind of just pushes dirt around and doesn't pick it up. It is also so firm it doesn't reach down into grout. Just appalling. I might try and use double sided tape as suggested but I shouldn't have to!!

Horrible mop poor design don’t buy – Sponge head drags heavily and very sticky to the floor tiles. Head doesn’t tilt - waste of money and poor design head. Just moved dirt around doesn’t pick it up... don’t buy

Resorting to the instructions – I hadn' t been happy with this super squeeze mop since we purchased it over 3 years ago but struggled on, having to accept the sponge would come off all the time and wouldnt squeeze properly and who reads instructions anyway. Finally yesterday, the mophead appeared to break in half so that the two plastic plates on one side came apart yet there… Read more

was no sign of a fracture. Today it literally clicked how the two plates can attach by stetching them so one slips and slots into the other and voila. This lightbulb moment coincided with me checking this website and to my shame I see I have also been using it handle up. Am over the moon and have washed the floors properly for the first time in years.

Best mop ever – As a Male single parent washing floors was something I had to learn quickly. My Vileda mop did an excellent job so for 10 years I used that mop until the head unit was stuffed. Had I know they were discontinuing making mop heads I would have purchased 10 or more head units and one spare handle. I'm tired of waisting money buying mops that just… Read more

don't work then tossing them out. I need Vileda mops to start making more head units again. Many people want you to make new sponges again.

Great mop – Was a great mop for about 10 years. Sadly it is now discontinued and I can no longer find replacement mop heads for it. Haven't found anything nearly as well designed or built as this was. It left the floors clean and not too wet. Just the perfect balance. Show details

Worst mop ever – I have spent the last 1 hour trying to figure out how to use the mop. Totally failed. I have a mop that I have no clue how to use. Have read and re-read the instructions. No help at all. I will be going back to Woolworths tomorrow to ask them to show me how to use it. I do not even have a clue how to squeeze the water out of the sponge and no… Read more

clue how to get the sponge flat on the floor. If Woolworths cannot show me how to use it they should not be selling it. I will be asking for my money back. Ridiculous!!

Do not buy!

Okay but leaves ridge marks – I found this mop easy to use (after I figured out the backwards design) but you can see the sponges ridge marks on the floor after its dried. I like the mop itself, as its very sturdy - just not the sponge.

Hooray for this page. Turned this mop from a flop to being useable! – I like most reviewers found this mop to be terrible but reading 5nrough the reviews I found one that said the mop is designed to be used with the squeeze handle facing the floor (kind of illogically I must say). I tired this and instantly all my problems were fixed. No longer did the dead fly off, no longer did the ratchet thing behave strangely… Read more

and I now have a useable mop. Maybe if I had read the instructions I could have avoided weeks of frustration!

Worst Mop Ever – This mop is the worst I’ve ever used. I wish I could give it less than one star. The sponge skids across the floor without picking up any dirt so you’re left with clumps to pick up. It can’t move sideways otherwise the sponge falls off. The pull-handle is too low and does not stay in place at the height you tighten it to. It would have been easier to hand wash the floors on my hands and knees than use this mop.

No Happy – It just won't slide across the floor it just keeps pulling the sponge back. Just not happy with it. What else can I say. It's just not flat on the floor when you mop.

Poor design – At first, I had problems using the mop. Like most of the people here, I got frustrated using this thing because the sponge kept falling out. So, after going through the instructions again and reading the other reviews , I was able to mount the sponge properly and lock it in place. It's not the most efficient mop out there, but it definitely gets the job done.

Wouldn't bother with the others – This mop is fabulous...it appears reviewers on this page don't realise you need to flip it over with squeeze handle facing floor and then it glides. I have had mine for years and bunnings sell replacement heads. It is like a squeegee so you semi squeeze it to "wash" floor then rinse ,squeeze fully and flip and mop again to leave almost dry streak… Read more

Modified by a "THINKING TRADIE" and now the best mop I ever had – Bought this good looking mop but at first use I battled to keep the sponge on. Total exasperation,, and I was going to put it in the bin. Then my Husband walked in hearing my fury. If all you folk take the time (tho the manufacturers should have done better in the first place) and buy PERMA mounting Tape Super Stick Exterior. This is a double… Read more

sided tape holds 22 kg and suitable outdoors it says (from Bunnings). Cut 2 lugs off either side of the sponge backing, and use the remaining to locate in the correct place with tape. Now it is lovely to use and we just glide it on floors with ease but do not dig in to the floor. Why don't the manufacturers think of remedying problems they have . The next time we have to put a new pad on it is not going to be funny... we will have to cut off the tape and re- do. In the meantime its the best mop I had in use.

Rubbish! DO NOT BUY! – This is the most poorly designed, user-unfriendly, unworkable, ineffective cleaning tool I have ever used! I cannot overstate how bad it is. The sponge sticks to the floor (making it hard work), the sponge head locks as you (try to) mop backward and forward (so the base threatens to scratch the floor), the grooved sponge leaves dirty lines on the… Read more

Worst mop ever – The mop sponge is nice and thick. And that's where the positives end. But it doesn't stay on!!! You can only mop forwards and backwards. Any slight sideways mopping and it comes off so you have to handle it to put it back on. Think under a bed, in a small space, over slightly textured surfaces. All the places you're likely to mop. The extendable… Read more

handle lock isn't reliable so while you're trying to mop only forwards and backwards you are also constantly under threat of dropping down to the ground as the handle shrinks into itself.

The head is extra wide which means it doesn't fit in standard rectangular mop buckets. So if you've managed to keep the sponge on, and stay on your feet, you know have to wrestle the handle and bucket just to start all over again.

No-one at Vileda used this mop before they produced it. I didn't think it was possible to make such a terrible mop but CONGRATULATIONS Vileda - you win! Worst. Mop. Ever.

Worst mop ever DO NOT BUY!!! – I wish I had read the reviews before buying this mop, the sponge keeps coming off, it leaves vertical black marks on the floor and the handle keeps falling off and would not tighten. I cannot find the receipt to return to Woolworths, this is an absolute piece of crap and waste of money- Do not and I mean DO NOT buy this mop EVER....

I will never by another Vileda product again! – This mop sucks! i though I was going mad when couldn't lock the handle, then the mop insert of which i brought a spare assuming the product would work. The insert comes out constantly the pull bar doesn't wring the water out of the sponge, and it flips forwards and backwards, with gay abandon. … Read more

I don't know what to do, as I don't have a receipt for it and the idea of schelping a half wet falling apart mop around the supermarket isn't inspiring.

Anyone know if i can return it to the supermarket without a receipt? and If not, could someone PLEASE suggest a good mop, that doesn't need a bucket?

mind of its own – Bought this mop to leave my floor as dry as possible after cleaning. It has a mind of its own, the handle wont stay at the height you set it too. It wont stay flat on the floor keeps locking in the up and down position, driving me crazy. The mop end coming off is a little frustrating as well. Going to return it to Countdown today.

Waste of money – I agree with the other reviews re: sponge constantly falling off, really frustrating. Don't know if it would clean or not since I haven't been able to use it. Throwing off balcony like another reviewer said is probably best thing you can do with it.

Worst mop I have owned in 30 years – Like many other reviewers here, I found this to be a frustrating and useless mop not fit for purpose. Tilt mechanism won't stay in place, sponge keeps popping out, doesn't glide across timber or tiled floors. After persevering for several weeks, I literally just threw it off my balcony in frustration and will chop it up into little pieces for the bin. If I could give it zero stars I would.

Ruined my weekend – Normally I would be impressed by an inanimate object which achieves so much success at affecting a cognizant being's day, but since it was my day ruined by this shitfully designed mop, I am unimpressed on all fronts. Don't buy it, don't consider buying it, don't even look at it.

Not impressed – I used this mop for some time before purchasing a different Vileda mop thinking i would use both but haven't bother using this again. It's disappointing as I like Vileda products but wouldn't recommend this mop. It doesn't clean the floor very well unfortunately. Guess it will do to mop puppy pee up from my balcony.

Worst mop I've ever used – The sponge constantly falls out of the mop head. The heads flip back and forward when you put even light pressure on it. Total waste of money, don't buy one.

Do not waste your money!! – I thought i was crazy to check a mop review but people, seriously- this mop is terrible. The sponge is constantly coming off and to actually mop the floor you have to be in a squat position so it doesn't click up and make you use the tip of the mop. I have never disliked cleaning so much until i purchased this!

Beyond frustration – I didn't think mopping a floor was difficult until I bought the Vileda Super Squeeze Mop. The sponge constantly comes off and the pivoting head, pivots so much that the sponge can not stay in contact with the floor. It was the most expensive mop on the shelf at the time, so I thought I was buying quality. So, so disappointed with my purchase. Save your money and buy anything else but this mop.

Rubbish – What a waste of money, I wish I had read these reviews. The sponge falls off when being used & difficult to outback on... took it back to the store & got a refund. I wonder how such a bad product can be sold

Love this mop and I don't like squeeze mops – I bought this Vileda mop along with the 'Activation' wipes with the idea to clean our solar panels. I needed a mop that would hold water and clean scum from the panels. I had previously attempted this dangerous job with a spray and wipe, squeegee and a bucket of water. With the idea that I could hose off to finish. Bad idea on 3 accounts: 1.… Read more

Hosing off the finish would put all the scum and dirt I had cleaned into our gutters (we have tank water)

2. I had no way to wash and pick up the scum without getting excess water on a slopping roof. More fun then WetnWild if that had happened.

3. Our panels are in groups of 2 so I could not reach the top of one or the bottom of the other to clean where they meet.

This mop solvered my issue and safely.

I attached the durable paper wipe, cleaned the glass. Keeping the paper towel on, wet the sponge and washed the glass. The foam head held plenty of water to clean the glass without it running water and the paper towel picked up the scum and dirt.

I didn't have excess water run off.

Did not need extra cleaners

The reach was perfect and the mop is light enough to reach and firm enough to clean edges giving me the ability to control the areas that needed extra attention like where the panels met.

The result was free of greasy grim and debris and the wash water was disgusting.

The paper wipes were black and the water shockingly black.

This mop is a winner for this application.

Waste of money – This mop is completely useless. The sponge does not even stay on!!! I have only used it twice and thought i was doing something wrong. Reading these other comments I am sure it is the mop. Do not buy one. I have always used Vileda products but this one was a total waste of money.

Useless – This mop is useless. The head flips up every time you drag it backwards and the mop keeps coming off. Would never buy one again. I am very disappointed and will be emailing the company to express my concerns with their inferior product.
