Value for money – Have had mine several years, it has been very good and worked hard in a house with long coated dogs on a hobby farm. Economical to run as it is bag less and the filter is washable. Good value for the purchase price.  Show reply

Utter rubbish – Bought mine from godfreys ,in warwick qld ,on special, drove 250kms aprox .To pick it up from only store stocking it at the time ,got the display model ,already assembled ,it was unceremoniously rammed between the back seat of my car ,by an elderly assistant ,who ,in my opinion was not in a very good mood ,and i wonder if this trsatment damaged it… Read more

?...It has alway been stiff to tilt ,falls over at the drop of a hat ,and cannot stand upright properly on its own ,gets blocked all the time ,bands break often ,it spews dust everywhere ,even though i have followed all the instructions religiously ,,

i rang the godfrey store on several ocassions for help and got none ,i am an age pensioner and cannot afford another ,ive only used it a dozen or so times ,as it is utterly useless and hurts my back trying to manover it ,and covers itself and everything else in a fine dust ,which i am allergic to ,( and yes it has its filters in etc,and put a clean one in ,and emptied the silly little container ,each ocassion ive used it ) in my opinion it is the single most utterly useless ,badly designed ,piece of garbage i have ever had the missfortune to own ,i am going to move soon ,and will be chucking it in the dump before i leave ....Where it will finally serve a little bit of use .....As land fill .

It is a really good Vacuum – Had this for about 4 years. Thought it was a piece of junk. Fast forward 4 years after I got it, turns out it is in fact a FANTASTIC vacuum. I didn't know it had a belt, only discovered this on google recently. Sure enough when I had a look it was broken, luckily enough I still had the spare belt it came with sitting in my laundry cupboard! Put… Read more

the spare belt on, turn the vacuum on & my gosh, AMAZING. I was so happy with it that I vacuumed my whole house at 10.30pm!! I make sure to clean ALL the filters once a week & when the belt isn't broken, since doing this over the last 2 months I've NEVER had any troubles with it not picking stuff up or spitting stuff out of the back! Amazing results (so long as you regularly clean ALL FILTERS & make sure the belt isn't broken) Only bad thing I would pick now is that the belt does break regularly, I'm getting on average 2 months out of a belt

Don't waste your money – I received this vacuum recently as gift after moving into my first home and it's absolutely terrible. It just blows the dirt around and barely picks up anything. Trying to clean with it is just incredibly frustrating and a complete waste a time. I pick of more dirt by sweeping alone.

Worst vacuum I have ever purchased – The suction is on the right side of the machine only. It spits out anything heavier than fluff which ends up all over the floor. There is no option to stop the brush from rotating. I have to sweep after I vacuum and I collect more with the broom than the vacuum. There is absolutely nothing good about this machine. Anything heavier than fluff is… Read more

Same problem as everyone else's – I'm a tad late on writing this review since we bought our vacuum cleaner 4 years back. It worked alright for a couple of months and have been pretty much a useless fixture at home. I found this site while looking for hepa filter replacement and at least now know that it's not just me having the same problems. Easy to operate Doesn't do the job for which it was bought!

Over it – We purchased this vacuum cleaner and have had nothing but problems with it, it leaves more mess then when you start, the belts snap all the time, it is great when you first turn it on for the first time but after that it SUCKS. Do not but this product waste of money Waste of money

Absolutely disappointed – My Volta Pet lover upright vacuum cleaner worked a treat for the first ten minutes of vacuuming. My carpets looked brand new and then it happened. After I emptied the filter and continued, it started leaving trails of dust every where on the carpet and lost suction very quickly. The carpet ended up dustier than it was before. It was disgusting and… Read more

what's worse I couldn't even use the vacuum to get the dust back. I ended up using a broom to get the dust. I am so disappointed and should have read these reviews first before going out to buy one. The suction before it decided to die. Leaves trails of dust everywhere, even on your feet!!

Worst Vacuum Ever – Worst mistake ever. It spits the dirt out the back and fires it at your legs and you have to vaccuum over and over the same dirt 5 times to try to get it up and still doesn't work.It does this on carpet and hard floors. It has done this from day 1 so its not clogged and i clean it after each use never buying another Volta. The Price

Great but not so great – This vaccum I got because I have carpet in my home and I figured this vaccum would give the carpet a good beating with its brushes underneath, which it does very well and gets all the sand and dog hair out of the carpet just fine.....until you switch it off...which is when it spits it all back out of the sides of the floor sweeper. I have cleaned… Read more

this machine inside and out, cleaned all the filters and underneath it where the dirt is coming from, it does seem to collect there a little too much, and still the problem occurs. Not quite sure what the solution is but I am moving into a house with hard floors so wont need to use this one much as I have a Volta barrel for hard floors.

This is a great vaccum if it didn't spit everything back after you switch it off and stand it back up . Beats the carpet well and gets all the sand out. Spits all the dust and sand back out when you switch it off and stand it back up.

Best Vacum I have ever owned – This vacuum is perfect for someone who wants a vacuum to actually clean their carpet well. Most reviews say it doesn't work however it just requires to unclog it every now and then, and only when you suck up a sock or something your not supposed to. This vacuum is tall and doesn't require you to bend and is extremely easy to clean. The belts only… Read more ·  1

break if you suck a large object up. So if your going to use as directed buy this vacuum. Tall, Great rotary brush, Actually cleans the carpet. Requires belts.

Terrible – Please do not do what I did and choose this over a Dyson, the saving is not worth it. It does suck up dust but it shoots it back out again at the back. There are no pros to this product. I am taking time to write on this website just to let people know that this is the worst vacuum cleaner ever produced. It actually makes my house messier. I… Read more

Terrible machine and complete waste of money – This product does not clean hard floors, even though it has a setting for such, it just pushes the dirt around. If you are trying to pick up anything larger than dust or possibly hair it just spins it around in the turbo brush head and then as soon as the product is turned off it leaves a pile on the floor. Canister needs to be emptied on a… Read more

regular basis. Attachments are useless as the machine has limited suction. In general extremely disappointed with this product and will never buy a Volta again. Good height. Other than the height, everything. The price is phenomenal for a product that doesn't work as it promises.

The worse vacum lve ever had – Bought this vacuum thinking it would be great very nice looking machine, used it twice a new belt was needed, which they had included in the pack, now l'm going through belts every 2 week works out to be an expensive little venture, have just had to order 3 packs of belts, have 2 belts in each pack for $11, l think l will keep Volta in business just buying belts Only thing good for picking up dog hair, has to be fully cleaned eveytime you use it

Poor Product – I have to agree with other negative reviews of this product. Poor on hard surfaces; the attached hose has minimal suction; the machine tends to push dirt around. It is okay on low pile carpet but does have a tendency to miss some dust/dirt. Overall a bad buy. Expensive for the poor design and quality. If it was free I still wouldn't accept it. $200 is a lot of money for something that doesn't perform as desired.

Don't buy one under any circumstances – Have used and put up with this machine for 8 months and used 10 belts.I have just cut my loses and put it in the bin as it was costing me $12 a month in new belts to keep it running. Upright keeps breaking belts and costing money.

Dubious product – Many reviewers rate this product very poorly. They speak of poor suction and dust coming out when it is turned off. I have found that these problems become apparent when it is clogged up. Which is always! When I have just taken it apart and removed all the fluff and rubbish from it's intimate parts the suction is good and it works well. Until… Read more

next time,

I have only had mine about 6 weeks and already broken two belts!!!! – This was bought to replace our dyson....not a good idea!!! It is useless on our slate and tiled areas but does do a good job on pet hair although it gets clogged quickly and filters need cleaning after each use....I would not recommend this vacuum cleaner Colour

Nor for hard floors – Yep, would have to agree with previous reviewers. Really good on low pile carpet, but forget hard floors. Dirt/bits etc pretty much laugh at it as it approaches. Terrible – Do not buy this machine, it is useless. Fur will quickly block all parts of the hose and filters requiring you to stop and clean it often. I have no idea why they would call it a "Pet Lovers" vaccum. Nil, nothing, nuda. Blocks quickly with dog hair, you will spend more time cleaning it than your floors. wear shoes when you use it to stop stuff being blown back on to your feet.

Terrible – i purchased this model about 4 months ago and i'm ready to throw into the scrap heap. 1. it clogs easilly .... and i dont have a pet! everyday dirt and dust clogs it something terrible. 2. flicks dirt around.

4 If i vaccume my rugs i then have to re sweep the floor to pick up all the dirt/sand this useless piece of junk flicked around.

I've baught better from Kmart for $89.95 The upright holding. clogs easilly and i dont have a pet! so no good for pet houses, flicks back a lot of dirt, no good for hard floors, it simply just doesnt do even a mediocure job... definatley thumbs down and will not consider a Volta again.

Unethical marketing – It does pick up some of the dirt on carpet but is completely useless on hard floors. I have a small house with carpet in 5 rooms. I can use this thing twice before I have to strip out all the filters and clean them. Then I have to check for top end blocks and clean the rest of the machine. It blocks all the time and all I have is one cat! I… Read more

would gladly pay $500 next time instead of the $200 that this one cost.

Oh and forget the handy detatchable hose with brushes for furniture etc...they don't work either...not enough suction.

It will work really well on carpet only, provided you clean all the filters out very regularly and keep the top end unblocked. The entry to the dust collector is ridiculously small and will block. Good on carpet. Everything else you might want it for, well forget it. For an upright, pay more and test on hard floor before you buy.

the most useless appliance i have ever owned – my previous volta was brilliant, lasted 25 years, this one from day one infuriates me, lucky to get through one room before having to strip it and clean the filters, it actually makes more mess than it cleans up. height of machine excellent, price was good noisy, cumbersome and useless

Excellent – The suction is so much better than I imagined being 1800W...must be because it's a petlover one that it has more omph in it...I like to use the upright for quick traffic area vaccuming between the usual weekly vaccuming that gets done with our miele. The miele we bought was over $500 but i do think this one cleans the rugs far better for nearly… Read more

the third of the price. It seems to have turbo when doing the carpets...and pushes itself forward. Has different heights to choose ie..short pile...high pile...hard wood floors. I am 5 ft 11 and my husband is 6 ft 2 ..we both find the handle is nice and high for both of us. Love how it is bagless, i felt like we were a door to door vaccum cleaning salesmen when we first tested it out on our carpets. It was frightening of how much dirt it picked up. All the tools are on board but visible. The hooks on it seem to be a cheapish plastic so would always be careful but for $175. It's very loud...but I look at it as a plus as the kids want to leave the room and I can get it done quicker.

Terrible – Very disappointed in this vacuum cleaner. I do like that the filters and cannister can be washed but it leaves bits of grit on the carpet that it wont pick up. It does not pick up at the edges as it claims. There is also very little suction when you use the attachment for tight areas. Wish I had purchased something else! I like the fact that… Read more

it's bagless and you can see what you are picking up but thats where it ends. I dislike that after 16 years I now have to sweep my hard floors as it just will not pick anything up, it just blows everything backwards.

Excellent – Apart from the dog hair dust fluff etc. I always thought my carpets were clean, now I can see after going over my floors a few times that my other vacuum was not doing a satisfactory job. I recently purchased my Volta Velocity because of dog hair problems. Can I just say I am delighted in the results, I could not believe how much debris this machine has lifted from my carpet. so easy to use.

Terrible – The turbo head needs to be screwed apart (2 screws) as dirt collects behind the belt. 4 filters require to be cleaned frequently. The unit comes with a large sticker on it, saying that the filters are washable. What it does not say is that this is only true for 3 filters, with the 4th instantly disolving when in contact with water. I contacted… Read more

Electrolux as their website gives no email address and requires even a password for warranty claims or any contact.

The first person at Electrolux hang up on me, the 2nd was very abrupt and disinterested on the problem, but provided the email as: info@electrolux.com.au ,this email was never ever respondet to by Electrolux. The Electrolux agents quotet for this tiny paperfilter from $ 33 to $ 60!

It took 20 minutes of arguing at Harvey Norman Penrith to gt a replacement. I will not buy a Elctrolux product again. It works well and the heavy suction head is easy to move on high pile carpet. A mostly plastic product with 4 filters, 1 cup and 1 turbo head to clean after short intervals. No backup from Electrolux at all.
