Incompetence – I am trying to have my parcel returned to the Merchant. vPost computer servers are inoperable and have been for many days. Despite numerous emails to them asking for some assistance & information, there has been no reply. Customer service is non-existent. There is no information posted on their website as to the problems the company is having with… Read more
it's servers. I am starting to suspect whether the company has gone into receivership. They don't rate one star, but this Review process demands I give this company a Star so that my Review will be published. NEVER use this company. They are terrible.
Deceptive vendor - exorbitant hidden charges – You can only calculate your postage cost based on the weight of the parcel. I bought a 1.4kg item ($33 freight - ok). But when the box arrived VPost applied their volumetric weight calculation. Basically because of the size of the box I was charged $218. Yes, it’s somewhere in the fine print that they charge the higher of the two methods, but you… Read more
can’t calculate the volumetric way unless you know the size of the box - usually after you have bought it. I asked them to send the package back to the vendor in-country but they asked for an exorbitant amount of postage just to do that. My package was basically held to ransom until I paid. They got me, but only once. I’ll never use VPost again. Next time I’ll use someone like MyUS who only charge by actual weight. This whole thing is made worse in that Australia Post recommend them, so you assume they are reputable.
Avoid where possible. Exorbitant delivery fees and poor customer service – Whilst you can calculate an estimated delivery fee on the VPOST site, be warned, the actual delivery fee will be MUCH higher. You won't know the actual delivery fee until your parcel has arrived at VPOST when it's too late to change your mind. I was charged AU $200 for an $150 item that weighed 2.8kg's to be delivered. Way way way too slow – I would not have used them had I known how slow and inefficient they were. My parcel arrived at their US warehouse and sat there for 5 days before it was located. It took them almost another week to post to Australia as they only send items once a week (Wednesdays). Another issue was that they sent my parcel as a normal parcel and not express. I… Read more
have not received my parcel after 3 weeks it was delivered to their address. Do not use them at all. There must be a better alternative out there.
Too Slow, Too Expensive – My item sat in the vPost warehouse for a week. At present the so called 'tracking' is showing 'in transit'... On top of expensive freight you also get hit with substantial Australian Customs charges, this doesn't happen if I buy direct. Fortunately I used the 15% intro discount but won't be using again. If I could give negative stars I would – Business colleagues use VPost to have certain items shipped into Australia from the US. I was referred to VPost by them. I sent a couple of emails initially with questions, but no one actually addressed my questions directly, but instead emailed me a link to their frequently asked questions page. Such poor service. On the basis that other… Read more
colleagues had used VPost for bringing in fragrance oils for the use in the manufacture of candles (not essential oils which are highly concentrated) here in Australia, I proceeded with establishing an account and ordering my items from a reputable supplier. Obviously the exchange rate is a killer between US and AUD, but I proceeded nevertheless.
When my items arrived at VPost they told me that they could not be shipped to Australia as they were flammable items. However, keep in mind my colleagues had been using them to bring in the exact same items without any issues or problems at all AND without having to provide any paperwork or documents at all. No questions were asked. They were bringing in large quantities so their cost with VPost was significant in the hundreds of dollars per month. I was only trying out at this stage so my order was quite small so I assume the postage would have been reflective of the amount I was wanting shipped to me.
I questioned their reasons behind saying they would not ship and I provided the documentation they requested detailing the chemicals and whether there were any issues with transportation. I provided the legal documents which showed the oils were non regulated and not dangerous to transport either by sea or air. However they still came back saying the oils contained alcohol which was flammable, so they totally disregarded the documentation I provided. The only section they obviously read and understand from the document was that the oils contained alcohol, but appeared to overlook the section where it stated "NOT DANGEROUS TO TRANSPORT". All I can assume is that they either couldn't be bothered or don't understand English.
Now the only other reason for this I can think of is that they wouldn't have made enough money from my package so it wasn't worth their while to ship to me. By blocking it, I now have to arrange for them to send back to the supplier or to onforward to another company that will actually ship my items here. They charge for doing this and will probably make more money from me by taking this course then actually shipping it to me.
They are ridiculous, obviously inconsistent with their policy and rules as they allow larger shipments of exactly the same items through and are a waste of time.
I will be engaging the international ombudsman as I am now out of pocket by a couple of hundred dollars.
STAY AWAY FROM THEM. THEY ARE CRIMINALS AND UNPROFESSIONAL.
Beware of Volumetric Weights! – I signed up for vPost pre-CoVID after seeing an encouraging AusPost advertisement for how competitive the service is. I was impressed with all the different countries I could ship from, and using their calculator it looked like I would save plenty over Shipito, who I have been using for over 10yrs. My first package was an electronic circuit board… Read more
under warranty, I asked the manufacturer to pack it into the smallest possible box and the freight was under 0.5kg and it was an economical delivery. Very happy.
My next delivery was for two sets of special ear plugs which in the padded envelope weighed 200g but the freight was huge. I sent a query to customer service, who got the bag measured and pointed out the volumetric weight calculation. Because the vendor packed the two little boxes in a large 14"x10" padded bag, the volumetric weight was deemed 800g so I had to pay for 1kg of freight. Most of the bag was air because they measured the height at 2". I asked that since the cut it open could they fold the bag in half and remeasure it? NO.
My next package was for a nozzle for my sink mixer, again that was packed securely into as small a padded bag that it could fit into, total weight in the bag was 290g but vPost's volumetric weight got me to the 1.5kg mark. Freight was almost the cost of the item (still cheaper than buying it here, but that's not the point).
Shipping from the US seems to take between 2-3 weeks. If it was really cheap the wait would be acceptable.
One of the obscure warnings on the vPost website is that users should ask vendors to pack deliveries into as small a box/bag as possible. I have one package ready to ship and because of these unexpected surprises I was able to work with the Etsy vendor to pack the items into as small a box as possible, bubble wrap inside rather than have the box in a padded bag. The vendor was very accommodative, keeping me informed of initial box/weight estimates and finally the shipped box dimensions and weight, so there was no surprise when the package arrived at vPost.
I count myself lucky in finding such a helpful vendor, but how many large retailers will bother doing this?
I've signed up for a MyUS account thanks to another reviewer here, they ship on actual weight and explicitly say they do not use volumetric weights, and I have a UK address included on my account. Looking forward to seeing how that goes on my next shipment.
Extortion - 0 STAR – I used vpost several time - reasonable cost but slow in delivery and responses from their customer service team. After May 2022 - they base on volumetric weight instead of actual weight. Charged 80 AUD for actual weight 500grams. Pleaded with their customer service team to help repackaged for a whole week. They refused to repack and offered… Read more
redirection $38 AUD or return to sender $7.50 AUD plus cost to return to sender.
I received the parcel today, this could have definitely been repackaged to a smaller volumetric. Please note this is a women’s dress. Absolutely can be folded and flatten to reduce the dimension! THEY OPENED MY PARCEL and didn’t bother trying to make the dimensions smaller. Horrible lazy people with no compassion and empathy. See screenshot picture for honest review!
AVOID AT ALL COST. Unless you want to stress and pay extremely high unreasonable cost. I would say thieves at this point.
too expensive don’t used this company – only one jacket charged maximum 6kg.. I asked repackage make reduce box size.. But They were informed that they could not repackage it, and in the end it weighed 6 kilos. I really don't understand the $150 shipping fee for one jacket. Show details
Scam? – Are they are scam? Took my money, took possession of my parcel in early December (they claim), never delivered; and no response to my enquiries. Don’t presently where my parcel is. Don’t use them! Update: received a response from them. They offered a refund + reimbursement of cost of the goods. They asked me to email back my bank account… Read more
details for reimbursement!! Seriously?? How stupid do they think I’am?
Goes without saying I wont be handing over my bank details; and still have not received a refund to my CC that they charged (nothing stopping them doing that!).
So, no parcel, no refund, and they want my account details. If they are not a scam, they are at a minimum, unprofessional.
Be warned!
